I liked the βmeet cuteβ & overall plot of this #romanticsuspense. The instalove was a little weak and there were a few places the suspense plotting could have been tighter. There is more of a seasonal tie in than a lot of #Harlequin holiday books, but this is still pretty holiday light. πππ
I quite enjoyed the audio of this retelling of The Prisoner of Zenda. I love a fun tale of adventure, intrigue, and derring do. I need more swashbuckling on my TBR. βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ
Enemies to lovers is my fave trope. I loved the premise and set up for this but the execution wasn‘t great. I wasn‘t really sold on why they were enemies or on them developing into a real relationship. Thom was objectively a horrid person who uses people and the story didn‘t really sell me on why Clay was different for him. Very meh. #romance
Soft pick. I loved the alternate history universe, the premise, and characters but the story seemed short and I wanted more explanation and plot.
I liked a book in this series by a different author years ago, but this was underwhelming. Lots of weaknesses in the plot and a very minor tie in to Thanksgiving. #romance #harlequin π«π«π«
I really loved this. It‘s a slow start that builds but it works. I loved Radar, Charlie, & all the nods to fairy tales. I still have some questions, but there is magic in not knowing all the answers. πππππ
I was happy to wake up today and see that efforts to flip the local school board by book banners who went after Lawn Boy and other books were unsuccessful. It was close, but cheers for free speech and diversity. It was a bright light in otherwise disappointing Texas election results.#bannedbooks
More sedate and realistic than most spy novels but an enjoyable read.
I loved Bram & Zachary & the decorating contest. I would have liked a little more emphasis on the #Halloween prank war in the story line. This wasn‘t quite as strong a story as last year‘s Christmas story but it was still solid. ππππ #scarathlon #teammonstermash #harlequin
More creepy than scary. We liked it. 11 points #scarathlon #teammonstermash
My kid convinced me to watch It Chapter One. It was less scary than I thought it would be. I loved the kids & the 1989 timeline. 11 points #scarathlon #teammonstermash
Bluebeard retelling with a demon. Pretty entertaining. ππππ lots of word search finds. 4366 points #fairytale #kindleunlimited #scarathlon #teammonstermash
I read the book 30 years ago but didn‘t remember much. I had never seen the movie. Long hair was not a good look for Antonio Banderas & I couldn‘t really forget Lestat and Louis were Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. Beautiful settings. #scarathlon #teammonstermash 11 points
Finished Season 1 & watched an episode of Season 2. I love the gothic small town meets folktales vibe. I would have been good with it ending at season 1. There was a natural end to the story arc & it‘s the kind of story that doesn‘t need all the answers tied up neatly. Binge watched 10 episodes. 101 points. #scarathlon #teammonstermash

Not in database. 1st of 6 novellas about a white knight & a dark sorcerer. Light hearted & fun. The sorcerer is entertaining. Not on theme but I got word search points..lots of good & magic. 1886 points. #scarathlon #teammonstermash #kindleunlimited
I watched this from my Hallmark movies recorded on Frndly TV last night. I liked the movie and have never read this particular Sandra Brown book. Added to my library list.
More madcap adventures with Jane Austen references this time. Not on theme but excellent for word search points. 4386 points #scarathlon #teammonstermash #witchathon
Fluffy, madcap romp. Reminded me of Gail Carriger‘s Finishing School series in some ways + Princess Bride references. Not on theme for #scarathlon but decent for word score points. #pointathon #teammonstermash 896 points

First 4 episodes of Season 1. 40 points since based on a book. Debating whether I like enough to binge the remaining 29 episodes between now and 10-22 when it goes off Netflix. #teammonstermash #scarathlon

I‘ve seen clips and bits here & there but the only King adaptation I‘ve watched start to finish is Stand By Me. I‘ve only read Carrie, 11/22/63, On Writing, & Joyland. Probably I oughta remedy that. What‘s your favorite? #teammonstermash #scarathlon team genre, #pointsathon, & word search 1056

Modern #gothic meets The People in the Trees. I liked the first 2/3 of the story but the last part fell flat for me.
Owen & Luna have been BFFs for many years & two women Owen have a romantic relationship with die. The secrets between Owen & Luna weren‘t what I thought they would be. The story starts off slow & I almost bailed. I‘m glad I finished but definitely not my favorite Lisa Lutz.
Joe Jameson narration was spot on & there were some pretty funny parts in this homage to four weddings and a funeral. But sequels about the same couple are challenging & this just didn‘t delight the same way Boyfriend Material did. It‘s a pick but not an enthusiastic one. #romcom
Reading is essential - to relax, to be entertained, to learn, to travel, to walk in someone else‘s shoes.
Probably my mom. I don‘t remember a time when I couldn‘t read & wasn‘t in love with reading & mom was my first teacher. I read all the time. In the morning when I‘m eating breakfast, on audio on my commute, when I have a few minutes of downtime, evenings & weekends, before I fall asleep at night. I get cranky if I can‘t read.
Criminal defense attorney defends her husband who is accused of murdering his mistress in the bed of their lake house. No one is very likable here but the husband, Adam, is particularly whiny and loathsome. A few convenient plot points but also some entertaining twists. πͺπͺπͺπͺ #thriller #kindleunlimited
Damiano is the unwanted stepson of a mafia Don who has never been shown affection & is feared by family. Jordan is pretending to be his stepbrother‘s boyfriend when they get kidnapped together. Jordan‘s claustrophobic, Damiano gets tortured. 10 days later they have developed an obsession for each other. Hazard is the queen of this type of codependent relationship. π«π«π«π« #kindleunlimited
Teacher falls for the son of the Prez of the local MC club before realizing he is now her student. King‘s too mature for an 18yo & Cressida has led a very sheltered life that makes her a naive & young 26. They are incredibly stupid about where they have sex repeatedly, there‘s sloppy typos, and it‘s kind of OTT drama. But it was very entertaining storytelling and I‘m sure I‘ll be back for more. ππππ #kindleunlimited
Erotic #romance meets psychological #thriller Kayla & Aidan are π₯ & it‘s all mysterious and strange. Go in blindβ¦spoilers would ruin the story #kindleunlimited β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
Even funnier than the first book, Romilly starts adopting a found family including an assassin who is older than him but his βkidβ. Snark & adventures abound. #romance #kindleunlimited β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
Hilarious! Romilly is mute due to abuse as an infant & he falls for a reaper after seeing him kill multiple people. It‘s set in an alternate paranormal universe & full of snark and adventures. β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ #romance #kindleunlimited
Terrible cover, good story. MM #romance with shades of Hatfields and McCoys. Full of great secondary characters so I was surprised this didn‘t become a series. Brody is a bit of a golden retriever personality trying to keep his family happy & Cohen is an orphan trying to grasp his roots. Lots of external and internal conflict and good storytelling had me invested. β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
The plot was a bit ridiculous & I didn‘t love this story as much as the rest of the series. But I still like the found family & the heist/con angle so I‘ll be reading the next book. β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ #romance
After reading about Holes in I‘ll Be Gone in the Dark, I had high hopes for this. My library borrow ran out when I was 40% in & I can‘t be bothered to do another hold. It‘s very disjointed with half told anecdotes & I didn‘t care for the tone in which it was told. I don‘t really care about his personal life but if he was going to tell it, he could have done a much better job of it. Very disappointing. #truecrime
I think Tessa just isn‘t for me. Every time I try I end feeling meh about the book. Objectively the writing was good but I just didn‘t like Piper‘s Kardashian/Paris Hilton vibe & I wasn‘t really sold on Brendan or the family secrets.
I really disliked Velle in book 1. This showed a very different side of him. This is MMF & explains a lot of back story about the prison. Definitely to be read in order and with consideration for trigger warnings if you need them. Dark #romance #kindleunlimited ππππ
This is best read not knowing much about the story before hand. Dash is a bank robber who ends up in a prison that is basically Alcatraz meets an abandoned asylum. There are some plot weaknesses but it‘s quite a ride. I did not anticipate where it went. This is dark #romance so heed trigger warnings if you need them. #kindleunlimited πππππ
Part 2 in TJ & Jude‘s story. Blakely really packed the #tropes into this story. It‘s a nice conclusion to the story although they could have stuck with the enemies to lovers thing a little longer for my satisfaction.ππππ
I love Lauren Blakely‘s characters and dialogue. To me, it‘s more contemporary #romance than #romcom because although it often has the slightly absurd reality and meet cutes of romcom, it‘s not full on comedy. I read this on plane and St. Pete beach & it ended on a semi-cliffhanger. ππππ
