Here we go.
Sooooo, I‘m going to have a novelette in Once Upon an Enchanted Forest, an anthology of romantic witchcraft stories, with the lovely Juliet Marillier. *yayyyy* It releases in September. Once Upon Anthologies is taking story submissions through 5/15 (and that date may be extended). If interested, check out the Submittable link.
Okay. I can understand why some don‘t like this book. If you need plot or rising action, a story that naturally leads to a climactic end, this is not that book. This is a generational tale of witches. No more. I still loved it, & I‘m a plotter, so 🤷🏻♀️. Some of the tales really stuck with me, and I wanted more. The writing is beautiful. The family connections in the end got to my heart. Also, the audio is lovely.
Uhm, I am loving this so far. It‘s a completely different time period/setting but the storytelling is reminiscent of Circe for me for some reason. The pacing is nice and steady, the narrator perfection. I hope it stays this good.
I‘m currently listening to Evelyn and wanted the hardback. Also excited to read about Daisy!
I was in the mood for something sexy. I listened to the audio. 1) The writing is really beautifully done. 2) Unique romantic situation. But...3) The narration. Everything was great except for the way the lady read the man. I still listened, tho! And it‘s still a recommendation.
Look, it‘s me 🥰 Just a heads up that Once Upon Anthologies is taking submissions for their next anthology. If you‘re interested and want more info, let me know. Submission info should go live this next week. Book title: Once Upon an Enchanted Forest. Theme: Magic/Witchcraft Length: 7-15k. Payment: $75 flat fee plus 2 print copies of the book and several ebooks to give away. Deadline is 5/15. This paperback and ebook is available on Amazon now :)
I keep trying to get Litsy to add this book to no avail 🙁. It‘s 8 novelettes with a vampire & winter solstice/longest night theme. Heat levels are sweet to erotic. I have a 19k word historical fantasy romance included. Elizabeth Vaughan, author of Warprize, is our headliner. If you‘re interested, you can find us on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Kobo. Paperback happens in February 🥰
This was AMAZING. It‘s a huge story, and I felt the need of the author to condense things at the end, but even still, this is an achievement. I loved the characters. I loved the emotion. This is historical fiction with a slight fantasy feel, simply because the magic of that time seems so fantastical to us now. But the people then believed, and the author shows that so well with these characters. Highly recommend.
This is mainly to get my head in the right place for a writing project, but witchcraft and herbs and the effects of moon phases are always so interesting to me.
I have to finish The Lost Queen, The City of Brass, and Timekeeper, but then, I get to listen to this. 💕💕
Okay, so even if I didn't know Scarlett, I'd tell you to read her books. I INHALED The Duke I Tempted, and now her second book, The Earl I Ruined, is in my Kindle a little early, THANK THE STARS. She writes complex characters with beautiful historical detail and so much sexiness you might melt. Go forth. Enjoy.
Completely bleak, but I loved it. I tried reading the book years ago and struggled to get halfway. The audio was much easier. McCarthy isn't for everyone, but fiction of the dystopian/post-apoc variety, even the more literary versions like this book, makes me contemplate survival and all its complexities. Not sure why I like that, but I do lol.
I have a story in this anthology ❤️. I write historical paranormal romances. There are 9 novelettes in a range of settings and genres. If you'd like a free e-ARC delivered to your inbox in November, click through to the USA Today post. THANKS! Well, I need this! If you guys are fantasy lovers and don't follow Faery Magazine in some way, you totally should. I found them on Instagram and I'm addicted. My publishing imprint, Once Upon, is giving away a 1 year subscription to their magazine (scroll back in my feed). This is from their newsletter which I never miss opening!
Once Upon Anthologies is looking for people to announce the cover reveal of their upcoming anthology. Also, if you blog and want an ARC in November, go to http://onceuponanthologies.com/join-our-street-team-2/ to get on their list. The stories are paranormal romance based but include 3 novelettes. There's some historical fantasy involved as well. The total word count will be around 100k, so lots of stories and maybe new to you authors. Thanks! 😍
I've been MIA lately! I'm the editor for Once Upon Anthologies, an imprint that hopes to release several short story collections in the paranormal/urban fantasy and mythological/fairytale retelling genres. I've been hard at work and it's just beginning 😬This is a book box OUA plans to offer through their Kickstarter that will take place in October.
