Though this is not my favorite Ruth Ware book, it was the first one I read by her and knew I wanted to continue reading her books.
There are worse places to end up. Sounds like a happy accident to me 😌📚
Annis (my sister) just sent me this picture of Noki with her latest book haul 😄
Soooo cute! 🥰🥰🥰
(I'm going to swipe the Ruth Ware once she's done with it...)

This suspenseful novel is about a travel journalist who is robbed before leaving on a coveted and luxury Norwegian cruise ship North Sea. Even though the trip is a work related, she quickly finds herself in an awkward then dangerous position. The reader is lead through an intriguing yet unpredictable week long journey filled with astute observations from the first person POV. Pay close attention or end up rereading passages! Very Well written.
⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Prior to reading this book, I was not keen on the idea of taking a cruise ever in my lifetime, and this book did not help to change my mind. If you enjoy fast-paced thrillers with atmospheric elements, you‘ll find this book entertaining. Don‘t expect this book to be award winning. Accept it for what it is - an entertaining read. I had high hopes for this locked room mystery, but it ended up being pretty average. I sped through the end to find out what happened, but I didn‘t feel very invested in the main character. If I had read this before The Woman in the Window, I think I would have liked it more, but it fell a little flat for me in comparison. Book 3 for #kicktheslump! I met my goal, woohoo!
I feel like I didn't get all of the answers I wanted, but I do recommend for the thrills.
I confess this is not my favorite genre (book club selection) so that may be coloring my opinion, but to me this book was just okay. The premise is intriguing but I spent so much time exasperated with the MC/narrator I didn‘t even care what happened to her by the end. ⭐️⭐️1/2
My January Book Spin Bingo board! @TheAromaofBooks
My #BookSpin is The Woman In Cabin 10. And my #DoubleSpin is any library hold that comes through (I have 10+ on the way!)
Just starting my January book club read. I‘m not usually a big fan of mystery/thrillers but so far I like it!
Another good book by Ruth Ware. Great twists and turns and I love the way she pulls in the reader with suspense.
I wanted to like this more than I did. It wasn't bad, I just didn't love it. And I have more questions than answers now about the story but don't really care enough to seek the answers. 😬 (Although my book club for it is Sunday and I'm sure I'll find some then in discussion. 🤓) I found the first half of the book intriguing, the second half a tad ridiculous. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
So that's done... this was only so-so because I do like the way Ware can weave a tangled web and Imogen Church. The story was so farfetched & I really thought Lo was the worst! Paranoid when she shouldn't be and totally nonchalant when she should have been panicking. 🤷♀️
I feel like such a whiner and I think I'm losing my reading mojo...
Lo is so paranoid and annoyingly neurotic that I'm hoping she got thrown over the side and this is a ghost story... 😂👻
I'm doing everything in my power to avoid straightening up the hall pantry but I think I've run out of errands and another trip to Target this week is out of the question... lol
This was definitely a case of the right book at the right time. I‘ve been having trouble reading lately, and this was a light, fun whodunnit that seems to have broken through my barrier. Imogene Church‘s narration, as always, was fantastic! In the past I‘ve been slightly disappointed by Ware‘s stories, but I enjoyed this one!
Hey everyone, Here are my #botm predictions for August. Hopefully we will get some spoilers next week!

I didn‘t love this one as much as I was expecting/wanting. Excellent premise - I love a locked room mystery - but I honestly couldn‘t care for any of the characters. Our main character, Lo, was a mess and just a really unpleasant person most of the time. I also don‘t understand why a home invasion in the beginning of the story was even included…it didn‘t seem necessary. I did like the lead up to the ending and how it wrapped up. 🌟🌟🌟 1/2
Decided to use a spinning wheel to pick from my choices off my #bookspinbingo board this month and up next…The Woman in Cabin 10!
Nosy narrators crack me up and this one certainly kept me entertained. While on a cruise ship for work, the narrator witnesses a horrid scene that she can‘t quite explain and spends the rest of the cruise being nosy, avoiding her work, and trying to figure out what had happened.
This is the type of book that from the get-go, it begins as intense, enthralling and wanting you to turn the next page faster than you did the previous one. The books begins with a tense scene, and while you think that most of the book will remain as part of solving the crime to this specific scene in this specific place, you were swept up in a completely different direction - in the best way. This was my second book by Ruth Ware, and it was even better than the first I read. Really a story to my liking. Thrilling, mysterious, and with a maybe unreliabale character (who knows whom you can trust!) And I loved the setting as well.

The first Ruth Ware book that I couldn‘t get into. It took me forever to read this because until the last 10% I was not even remotely interested in what was happening. I guess I would still say read it, but... quickly so you can get to the really well done ending 😅
About a journalist who goes onto a cruise for a story and gets way more than she bargained for when she notes odd things. The story moved quickly enough but I just wasn‘t that interested in it. It was an alright thriller but really only that, alright 🤷♀️
My easter bunny not only came early this year, it also turned out to be a ship 😂 I've heard the Suez Canal is open again? 😁
@MoReadsSometimes
My first Ruth Ware. I really liked it. Lots of twists and turns. Very relatable main character. Looking forward to reading her again.
Book club pick this month was kind of a letdown. Slow buildup to a not very exciting ending. The whole book felt pretty rushed. There were so many characters that we were supposed to be suspicious of, but we didn't really get to know any of them aside from "that guy's a photographer" or "this guy owns the ship."

Found #slovenianedition of Woman in Cabin 10 on my #tbr shelf. Heard so many great reviews about it will try to read it this year.

The only books I‘ve read about a #cruise are all mysteries so they aren‘t great advertising for that kind of vacation. I‘ve never been on a cruise but the river cruises advertised on PBS always sound good! #LitsySpringBreak
I LOVE an unreliable narrator, as long as mental illness is not used. This main character is drunk all the time and I can‘t figure what is going on. Any suggestions on other books using this device?
I thought this book had the potential to be a real page Turner, but I found the main character to be a whiney victim instead of a true heroine and was quite disappointed. Although I enjoyed the outcome of the book, I wouldn‘t go so far as to say this is a book I‘d recommend to my book loving friends.
Gonna read this next by Ruth Ware #ruthwarewriter #ruthwarewriter #ruthwarebooks #thewomanincabin10
I was surprisingly disappointed in this one. The premise was so good, but the main character was very annoying, so much of the book was just spent in her head. I can only read so much deliberation on what to do, followed by panic, and back to deliberation before I just need a plot point. I liked the reveal, but after that it became weirdly boring, no more plot twists.
This book was so good! It kept me guessing the entire time and the ending was unexpected.
Time to start my next book! Have you read it? If so, what are your thoughts?
I love a closed circle mystery, so this is a fun set up for a book. But there are pacing problems (so many chapters of “no one believes me!”) and an irritating protagonist. I did like the ending, tho!
It escaped postal purgatory @shellleigh33 !!! Thank you so much for this awesome package!!! You went above and beyond! Bella was really curious, but also pretending she was not after that wrapping paper 😂
I love it all!! Thank you again! #ElfSwap
Wow! This thriller had me guessing all the way to the end! I thought Ware was giving away a lot sometimes, but nothing was as it seemed! This was a rare 5-star thriller for me. I‘m so thankful for #audiobooks and #libby through my local library. I can listen 🎧 while I work!
I have a lot to catch up on in October, but Ate up The Woman in Cabin Ten earlier than expected for my hometown book club. We are meeting today early so adding one more to this list.
