A few of the non-fiction books from my possible picks. Setting a defined #tbr is a ticket to a #readingslump for me, so I‘m making sure to keep my options open. #scarathlon #teamstoker

I‘m in the middle of a bail-a-thon. I bailed on Jeffrey Archer‘s first in his new series because the main character is flat. I bailed on “Spring” by Ali Smith because I like a political rant as much as the next gal but these are essays, not a novel. I bailed on three others this week (in comments!) I want a character to fall in love with and a gripping story, written beautifully. Ideas, Littens? Image credit: Mel Neale. #readingslump 👎🏻

jillrhudy Too intense/preachy. Not in the mood. Probably Ali Smith‘s fault. Another time I might love both! 1mo
jillrhudy I keep imagining what Alice Hoffman or Anne Tyler could do with this plot and characters that this author can‘t. Boring! 1mo

jillrhudy @Megabooks I‘ll grab it! 1mo
Aimeesue Lissa Evans. Crooked Heart or 1mo
jillrhudy Got Crooked Heart. Kindle & audio both. 🙏 thank you 1mo
Aimeesue @jillrhudy Most welcome! But you‘re gonna want to read Old Baggage too. Sorry, not sorry. Mattie is awesome. 1mo

I have been in a significant slump since early July, I can mainly consume books in audio format. It is a bit upsetting, but at least I am reading.
I am one chapter into this one and it is an interesting and insightful look into the way we perceive, judge and deal with female celebrities gone off the rails, and what does that say about our society and gender expectations.

Thanks to a review posted by @MicheleinPhilly I finally broke my #ReadingSlump 🙌🏻‼️ This true crime investigative report reads like fiction. A fascinating page turner about a young man who managed to fool friends & family as well as the law for over 15 years. Israel Keyes was a “monster” who raped, tortured and murdered numerous individuals for pleasure. Unlike other killers, he had no preferred type & sought no fame. Truly frightening!!

Cinfhen Definitely read this @Reviewsbylola 3mo
Kimberlone He is very notorious in Alaska. I remember when this case happened. I hadn‘t realized a true crime book had been written about him 3mo
TrishB 👍🏻 you got there. 3mo

KarenUK Yay for the #slumpbeater !!! But 🙀, I couldn‘t read this one! 3mo
Megabooks This sounds horrifying!! That is one weird slump buster, friend! 🤪 3mo
Cinfhen Thanks for cheering me on @KarenUK @Megabooks @Crazeedi @squirrelbrain @TrishB 🤗🤗🤗I can imagine how much attention this case must have made @Kimberlone I was familiar with some of the other crimes he allegedly committed but not the one that he was eventually caught on. It‘s a really gripping read @BarbaraBB and now that you‘ve been driving all across the “lower 48” you‘ll be amazed at how many cities he hit 😠😮😱 3mo
Cinfhen It‘s hard to believe what this guy got away with @the_book_hoarder !!! 3mo
Cinfhen Having such a great time @BarbaraBB hope you are too!!! Can‘t wait to hear all about your trip. Are the kids having fun?? 3mo
emilyhaldi Well obviously I‘ll be stacking this one!!! Glad you‘re over that slump 😁 3mo
Reviewsbylola I have this one out from the library now too! 2mo

Thoroughly enjoyed this one! It‘s the first book I‘ve finished during the #24B4Monday Readathon and thankfully it‘s helped me get over my #readingslump. 💜🖤

😔 😔following a brilliant reading month, I am in a reading slump 😔I have read only 12 pages over the past 4 days (thanks to Bookly, otherwise I wouldn't have read at all). Therefore, I am going to put the books I am currently reading on hold to get me some of my beloved Agatha Christie.

#agathachristie #readingslump #mystery

Penny_LiteraryHoarders That's exactly what I did! Hit a slump so pulled out a beloved mystery author. Mine was Elizabeth George. ☺️ 3mo
Niso @Penny_LiteraryHoarders I have been meaning to try her books. Do I have to read the Inspector Lynley series in order? 3mo
Penny_LiteraryHoarders @Niso well I started with number 8. Going back a little before would be better. I had a co-worker help fill in gaps. But absolutely you really do have to follow on order. Events in personal lives build with each one. It's great and I love her!! 😃 3mo

I have been in a horrible reading slump this year. I've read 7 books so far. Between not being in the right state of mind emotionally and busy with a kitchen remodel I haven't felt up to it. But I miss reading tons of things each month. So im sitting down to read this one today. Its short so hopefully that helps kick start my motivation.

Okay this time I think I might actually be getting out of my reading slump! I've started so many books and not finished any of them for months now, but I just picked this one up off my shelf the other day and it's going well so far! Lovely writing and engrossing points of view. I hope I finish this one! 🤞#readingslump #slump #botm #bookofthemonth

Friends, I‘m deep in a reading slump. Work and life have been burning out and I‘m having a hard time engaging with my books. Looking to start something that will really suck me in. Anything on my list that is sure to do the trick? #readingslump

tammysue Oh no, try Karin Slaughter🤞🏻 6mo
gibblr A lot of people love Throne of Glass although I haven‘t read it yet myself. I would probably pick one of Karin Slaughter‘s or Crazy Rich Asians. 6mo
OnlyYoo I didn‘t like in a dark dark wood or throne of glass. I would probably try crazy rich Asians 6mo

Andrew65 Karin Slaughter usually hooks you in and leads to you having to read on. @whatshesreadingnow . Good luck 🤞 @Hestapleton (edited) 6mo
MidnightBookGirl I really loved The Good Daughter, and The Flight Attendant was good. 6mo
bewareofwords I‘m in love with the Throne of Glass series. If it doesn‘t hook you right away, definitely go back to it after the reading slump is over. 🤗 6mo
Hestapleton @bewareofwords I LOVE ACOTAR, so I want to love this, but I‘m so scared I won‘t love it as much as ACOTAR. 6mo
bewareofwords @Hestapleton I‘m a fan of ACOTAR too, but I actually liked TOG better! 😱🥰 I think it‘s worth at least trying, at some point! 6mo
