It was just okay.
I like the twists. But the story itself dragged on a little too long. It was on my TBR for so long, so I'm glad I read it, but knowing what I know now, I would have been just as happy to skip it.

I think Mary Kubica may be my favorite author. I've seen mixed reviews on this one but I really enjoyed it.
The part... you know the part... it was so graphic. I was horrified.
I cannot wait to read more by her.

I've read Local Woman Missing and now this one. Anyone have any favorites by her?

After reading the Woman in Cabin 10 and In a Dark, Dark Wood, I thought I was done with Ruth Ware - not because I don't like her. I just think other authors do it better. But this surprised me. I really fell in love with Ellie! There were quite a few twists that I absolutely did not see coming. Also, I'd love a book with Jack as the main character. There's more there and I want answers.

I know this is an unpopular opinion. It was just a no from me. Maybe there was too much to keep up with? Or that I didn't really like any of the characters? Maybe it just wasn't the right genre for me. It was long and did not engage me. Also, it was kind of gross at times.

Heart of a Mother - Julie Clark
Slot Machine Fever Dream - Chris Bohjalian
Just A Girl - Alyssa Cole

Quickly devoured The Obsession series- a series of short stories. Well developed characters and story. The Mosquito was my favorite. I didn't like the writing style of Slot Machine Fever Dream.

I went into this knowing that it was going to be a bit annoying with the back and forth. And it was annoying. Why do people hold themselves back? Why live your life in the unsaid?
But really, still a good book. This story could have been told in fewer pages. But it seems that all of her books are a bit long.

I won't lie, I give all memoirs ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ just because I know it takes guts to put it all out there. But this one genuinely was good. You can see how much Tom had grown through his life.
It's easy for people to change their actions, but to change their thoughts and their minds, that takes a lot of reflection and courage.
There was also tons of great humor. This was just really good for me.

As someone who has been to a party or 2 at the hockey house in college, I have no idea how anyone could survive spending as much time in that house as they did.
I liked all of the characters except Aaron. He super sucks. You could tell that Stassie was trying to be a "cool girl". But, I still really enjoyed this book. Yes, super spicy, but I think the story here was solid and pulls at your heartstrings a little.

I have never laughed so much while reading a book. I have also never had to long tap so many words to find out what they mean while reading a book.
Patrick takes his niece and nephew for the summer and has no idea what he is doing. But also knows exactly what he is doing. A lighthearted read with a darker undertone. This was so enjoyable, I didn't want it to end. Loved this story and Patrick as a character.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC!
I went into this book with high expectations. I was ready for my heart to burst with love & warmth. Unfortunately, that isn't what happened. Klune can write a vivid story, but in this case, it was just not for me. The constant mention of sex & human anatomy was too over the top for me and turned me off to the story pretty early on.

What do you do when you so desperately want to enjoy and finish a book, but you are struggling to make it happen? I LOVED Cerulean and Whispering Door.
I'm over half way through this (chapter 17) and I'm simply not enjoying it. There are so many stellar reviews... is there something coming up that will turn this around for me or is it better to just move on?

BookmarkTavern I found it to be pretty average all the way through. But I also feel my expectations maybe were unfairly high after Whispering Door. 3mo

This was a tough read. Enchanted is 17 years old and will do anything to achieve her dream. And I hate that for her. Ugh! This book sucked me in from the beginning and it broke my heart again and again and again. If you are up for something heavier, I recommend this one.
The pace was great through the whole book. However, the ending was so rushed and I'm not entirely sure why. The rushed ending makes it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ instead of 5.

As usual, the last 100 pages were the best. It took me 3 months to read, but the last 100 pages were read today.

Pros: LOVE these characters - great character development - the story telling is so vivid.
Cons: Unnecessarily long, which meant that it draggeddd in many places.
