Finished the tagged book this week (excellent!) and started T. Kingfisher's take on The House of Usher yesterday! I'm already loving the creep factor. I don't have a ton of time to read this weekend, but am hopong to get through this short one at least and move onto Nettle & Bone next week. #20in4
Watching #VirtualJaneCon and catching up on #pemberlittens feed with my Austen mug today! The perfect end to my rather chaotic week.
Here's a link to our very own @REPollock's incredible bonnet video! I am in love with the Charlotte Lucas bonnet they created for the theater they work for. 😍
https://youtu.be/281PVjfYCKU
I also loved Dr. Elizabeth Rands' look at gender subversion in P&P! It's a happy day.

We're learning about oceans at the library this month! Lucy Cousins' fish books are a real fav with my littles. 🐟
At the library trying to hurry and finish before the #fantasticstrangelings event tonight! The kids' coloring was particularly apt. 🐚💦🔆
If you're just a bit angry, like me, I'd recommend some hard core cardio, writing your feelings and listening to Jodi Picoult's "Choice" on Audible. It flips the script. What if one day men woke up pregnant and they didn't have the right to choose?
"They said later that he rode into the village on a horse the color of buttermilk, but I saw him walk out of the wood." ?
My #currentread. The prose is gorgeous; I feel like I'm lost in a dream.
#firstlinefridays
I actually completed my goals for #marvellousmay! Along with finishing Children on the Hill and the rest the Tallow Wife stories (both excellent!), I dug into my Jane Eyre extra curricular reading with the tagged poetry collection and finally started Wide Sargasso Sea. Thamks for the inspiration, @andrew65!
What??! This was excellent. If you're a fan of Frankenstein and in need of a thriller, definitely pick this up! 👾👽🎧 #marvellousmay
Gripping!! Couldn't put it down. And that face! 😱 My neice was very distressed that she didn't have eyes, lol.
Started the #marvellousmay readathon off right with a bath at 12 am this morning! I have nine stories left of this collection, so I'll try to read one a day, and my other goals are catching up on readalongs -- Dracula and The Annotated Arabian Nights -- and finishing Jennifer McMahon's latest. Lots to do, so I'm happy I have a readathon to help me out! 🛁
@Andrew65
Just found #draculadaily and I'm so excited!!! I've been wanting an excuse to try Dracula since I learned about the Rosenbach's Sundays with Dracula from the beginning of the pandemic, so finding Dracula Daily was perfect! I've been catching up today and am already hooked. 🧛🏻♂️
I've recently been catching up on the #fantasticstrangelings book club picks. I really enjoyed this one. Now I need to go back and read her witchy YA series. 🌲
This book was just exquisite! 🦜🌻🌿
#fantasticstrangelings
I adored the main character of this book! Molly was such a delight, in the midst of quite a stressful mystery. Loved it! 🛎
I finished this one in a tiny mountain airbnb with the cutest outhouse, so I had to share!
#fantasticstrangelings
Happy Mother's Day! My lovely mother-in-law took me to the bookstore this week and got me this pile of witchy goodness, and then we played a board game about a magical library. It was the best! Sending my love out to all of you mother-figures (whatever your gender may be). You are incredibly important! 💕
This book was a delight! While I enjoyed the new stories collected here, I really loved getting a glimpse into Jackson's life! Her essay about her house being haunted is probably my favorite, but honestly all of her essays were just a delight. I definitely need to read Life Among the Savages now! 👻💚😘
Lovely lunch made for me by the hubs. Found this book at a local indie and can't wait to indulge! 😋
What a ride! I went into this one pretty blind, so I thought I was being paranoid about the new girl, but apparently not enough! I did not see that coming. I hated the ending at first, but now I'm starting to think that it was the only interesting choice. If you like a little thriller thrown into your contemporary fiction (in the book industry), this one is for you!
I got mine from Libby, but had to snap a pic at the airport bookstore. 📘❤️✨
Plane reading! I was breathless finishing this read. Not sure how I feel about the end -- I think I love it -- but I would definitely recommend! Helped my flight zip by. 🛩
"Pinned down like moths, like squids on rocks. This is a fight women have always fought, their soft bodies turned to battlegrounds, slim bones crushed beneath the solid weight of men. " ??
Spending my Easter in the airport on the way to my little sister. This book is lovely! I love Tsh Oxenreider. 💜
This book is freaking me out so bad! Note to self: Beware of anything Stephen King calls a "nerve-shredder." ?
#currentlyreading
This is the first book I've stayed up all night for in a while. I loved Jalaluddin's first book (Ayesha at Last) so much and this one was just as excellent! Her characters are vibrant and relatable and, as an added bonus, she has now retold Pride and Prejudice and You've Got Mail (two of my favorite things) in modern-day Canadian Muslim communities. Apparently once I start one her books, I just can't stop. Clearly a writer after my own heart! 💜
Caught up on the Olympics while I tried to get into this book over the weekend. I'll be honest, the Olympics kinda won! Those ice skaters had me riveted. Yay for Peacock! I haven't had cable in years. 📚⛸️❄
Reading this La Lorna-inspired tale on recommendation from The Folklore Podcast. It was the perfect day for a pastry at the park with my boys (even if I'm normally gluten and dairy free, per doctor's orders). 😋
I read five books (mostly graphic novels and audio) during #joyousjanuary. Hoping to finish a few more before the month is out, including my #bookspin! 🤞
My favorite Hello Bello diaper box yet! My boys loved the book and my four-year-old "flew" around our kitchen and talked about all the animals he saw "below." ?
Catching up on my non-fiction tbr for #joyousjanuary! It took me an embarrasingly long time to find my book over the weekend. I was checking everywhere around my reading nook ... but not the horse, lol. @Andrew65
Catching up on Sundays with Jane Eyre in my quick respite while my mother-in-law has the kids. I'm loving revisiting Jane Eyre with The Rosenbach! They have so many amazing academics on to discuss. I'd recommend for all the #pemberlittens!

My #BookSpinBingo for the month! I'm determined to get at least one each month this year. I'm currently reading the tagged book and think it will fit a bingo perfectly with my #bookspin. 🤞
@TheAromaofBooks
I'm very late in posting, but here's my list for January's Book Spin! I really want to prioritize it this year as I'm trying to read more of the books I already own. The tagged book is my #bookspin and Parakeet by Marie Helene-Bertino is my #doublespin.
@TheAromaofBooks
I almost forgot to post my #WinterGames2021 total! I got 15,012 in the last week, totaling 83,961 points total. Thanks again @Clwojick & @StayCurious for the incredible games!!! I had loads of wintry fun.
Also, I had to share this tea set my sister got me for Christmas. It's just so pretty!
My sister gifted me this fabulous mug and a sampler pack of Pukka's herbal teas (as she knows I'm caffeine sensitive). I cannot wait to try all of the flavors! I have dreams of sipping them luxuriously with a book in hand in the wee hours of the morning before the kids wake up. ☕🌿
My December patreon perk finally came! It's not exactly book related, but I just love Amands Herzman's art so much!!! She always sends facts and stories about the plants and just little touches that make it feel special. 🌺🌿
I'm just one hour short of twenty for #20in4, but I must sleep! Thanks @Andrew65 for the great motivation this weekend! I just started this beauty and hope to get to more of it tomorrow. It was blurbed by Neil Gaiman and has to do with missing letters, so I of course had to pick it up! ❤⚜📓
My bingos for #WinterGames2021! Thank you so much @Clwojick & @staycurious. It was lots of fun!! ❄🎄🎁
Had a holiday craft day with the nieces today! This is my macaroon cookie ornament. We also did snowglobes full of sugar and glitter. Thanks to Daphne's Diary for the macaroon idea! We had so much fun getting all gluey and glittery.
#holidaycraft #wintergames2021
I listened to this audiobook while getting some holiday stuff done. Funny and diverting -- I especially enjoyed hearing about her mother's bonkers Christmas house. I have to say though: If you have more than one Christmas tree in your house, I don't think you can claim that you don't really get into that decorating thing. You're full-blown Christmas in my book! Just sayin'. 🍬🎁

Forgot to post this review earlier in the month. 'Twas excellent. Charming and cozy. If you're a fan of The Princess Switch movies, this was made for you. There may not be royalty, but there is so much baking goodness and twin swapping. My favorite parts were in the small town, very Gilmore Girls-esque. Just a sweet romance.
Also, I love these almond horns so much. 🤤
#wintergames2021 #mistletoemaniacs
Finished this one over the weekend. It was amazing! Honestly, Christie is the best. I should just read her when I need a mystery. So excellent. Didn't see it coming. Nice and cozy for the season. Definitely going to read this one again! ❄☎️🧦
#comfysocks #festivephotochallenge #wintergames2021 #20in4 #agathachristieclubr2
I enjoyed this book quite a bit, but the wordiness got in the way. It was so delightful in parts; in others, I felt like the wittiness took away from the story. An enjoyable end to my festive reading.
#wintergearup #festivephotochallenge #wintergames2021 #20in4 #netgalley
I spent some time getting to know my local little free libraries dropping off some festive reads I enjoyed this month, but probably will not revisit. I want to put one in my yard so badly!
My oldest really wanted to build a snowman, but the snow was too soft. Luckily, he accepted my mini snowman and festooned him with wet leaves and sticks.
☃️📚🎄

With just over 4 hours to go on #20in4, and only 2 hours left to squeeze my last read into #WinterGames2021, I thought I'd quickly throw up this review. A delightful collection of stories pwrfect for the season. Would definitely recommend as a great gift! ❄🎄☃️
Happy New Year, Littens! I hope your holidays have been lovely ones. I'm so happy to have y'all in my life! You make my days brighter. This is me and my mom at our family party. I'm so happy we can get together this year!!! ❤💚🤍
