December is going to be even crazier than normal. 🤪 Three weekends of playing Mrs. Cratchit opposite my husband (and with my real daughter as my stage daughter, pictured here), & then two weeks in Florida, FINALLY taking my c/o 2020 grad's graduation trip to Disney & Universal. I'll likely read very little, but know that I'll be back in full force in January! Happy Holidays & Happy Reading!
@StaceGhost I found it! When you live with 3 other adults who all order online for the holidays—it gets tricky. Can‘t wait to open this. I‘m finishing up shopping and mailing my box 📦 this week. #WinterSolsticeSwap
I thought this free audio advent calendar sounded like fun!
It was fun listening to Tim Curry read this classic with my husband. We just love Curry's voice.
I've read this book multiple times in my teens, so it was great to revisit it. I love the themes of redemption, compassion, and the importance of love. There's a reason why this book is so popular. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

1) I have a book club meeting on Saturday afternoon (tagged book) and I want to finish up The Last Green Valley.
Got this as an Audible freebie years ago & never listened to it. Since I'm preparing to play Mrs. Fezziwig & Mrs. Cratchit opposite my husband in a community theater in a few weeks, thought this was as good a time as any to listen. And, hello, it's Tim Curry! 😍

Hello all! I‘ve decided to give hosting a readathon a try as part of the #wintergames2021 this year and I‘d love for you to join me for the #blackwellsbookshelfreadathon
Blackwells, one of the UK‘s biggest bookshops based in Oxford, published its ‘five foot shelf‘ lists of ideal ways to fill a bookshelf for different occasions and they‘ve just released their Christmas list of children‘s and adults‘ festive classics.
Some of my #decemberTBR for #wintergames2021 I have a lot more on my shelves but I‘m not sure how many I‘ll be able to read. Hopefully I can at least get through these. Go team #mistletoemaniacs
And so, as Tiny Tim observed, God bless Us, Every One!

I seriously need the rest of London to catch up with me and my #almostchristmas spirit. Just discovered M&S isn‘t doing my favourite cranberry sausage roll this year and I don‘t know how I‘ll cope with this at all.
The good news though! If you have access to the audible plus catalogue I found this edition of A Christmas Carol read by Hugh Grant that‘s included for free. I‘m so excited to ring in December listening to this
Day 11 - #London
When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life.
Some movies set in London and... 😉
'London calling, yes, I was there, too
an‘ you know what they said? Well, some of it was true!
London calling at the top of the dial
after all this, won‘t you give me a smile?
I never felt so much alike alike alike alike…'

Okay, so Scrooge is known as being the opposite of merry, bah hum bug! But, after he is visited by the three spirits and realizes how wonderful life can be he is the merriest one in the bunch. He is giddy with the spirit of Christmas!
Oh my goodness! Just saw this today - is it too early to start Christmas shopping?? 🎄
For this who saw my original posts! I loaned out my copy of a Christmas Carol and the borrower gave it back in pieces, so I turned it into a ruffled skirt and flower for my mannequin (which I got from a friend with this project in mind). She still needs a cloche or a bowler or something, but I‘m loving how it came out!
Part 3..... progress picture. I‘m taking a break, but I got two rows done (I keep stabbing myself so it‘s time to read a book instead) I‘m loving it so far!
Referring to my previous post, I‘m making lemonade out of lemons, and finally starting this project. I have the mannequin, I was waiting for a destroyed book, and now I have it! I wish it wasn‘t Dickens, but that can‘t be helped! Stay tuned!
Note to self: never lend a book to a neighbor again. I think her daughter bend the cover around for easier reading, because the book was in great condition when I lent it out. This should not have happened. And they didn‘t offer to replace it either. #horrified
Me encanto!
Charles Dickens‘ short story, “A Christmas Carol,” follows Ebeneezer Scrooge, an elderly miser. On Christmas Eve, he is visited by the ghost of his deceased business partner, who urges Scrooge to change his ways while he still has the chance. Later that night, he is visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come. These apparitions give Scrooge insight into his actions and their outcome. As a result, Scrooge undergoes a...
I don‘t think I‘ve actually ever read this though of course the story so well known. It was nice to read the original. #ShutdownReadathon #TBRCrew @jessinikkip @jb73 @AkashaVampie @AsYouWish @AnansiGirl @ElizaMarie @Catherine_Willoughby @MissAimz_55 @Squidgwet @Bookworm54 @Katy4Peas
This was my first time reading this book and I really enjoyed it. The narrator was engaging and the story moved on at a good pace. As someone who watches The Muppets version annually, it was fun to know that the "...who did NOT die" line isn't a Grover exclusive.

Today I built this cute and adorable “book” #LEGO A Christmas Carol set! Complete with Tiny Tim, Bob Cratchet, and Ebenezer Scrooge! There‘s even a little pull out drawer in the front 🥰
1. I gave a gorgeous journal to one of my nieces and she just about lost her mind. It reminded me of when I‘d receive brand new blank journals to fill up with my ideas when I was her age. 🥰
2. Delivery workers. I mentioned this already in another post, but seriously, 2020 would be WAY worse without them.

We all know the story; Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by three ghosts who show him his past, his present and, if he continues to live in the miserly, miserable, uncharitable way he currently does, his future. A well loved, well read classic that is the epitome of the #BeKind movement. Excellent narration by the suave Hugh Grant ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
