Surprisingly I enjoyed this one. We‘ll see if that lasts but I‘m not holding my breath.

Bk2 of July is finished. The 7th book of the Wheel Of Time series, it picks up right after the battle at Dumai‘s Wells. Rand now totally distrusts any Aes Sedai, meanwhile in Cairhien Colaveare has taken the throne thinking Rand taken. Mat has his hands full in Ebou Dar trying to keep Nynaeve & Elayne safe while trying to dodge Queen Tylin. One more down. Still captivating, so many people and plot threads to keep track of is exciting. The way some characters interact and think still annoys me but overall enjoyed this book. On to the next!

Finally done! The plot and world are interesting but the prose has been a struggle for me to tolerate. Hoping it gets better once Sanderson takes over in a few.

I'm back! I was traveling around Europe for 5 weeks and not reading as much as usual. But now I am going home, and I'm actually excited about it :) can anyone tell which airport I'm at right now based on this obscure picture?

Back to the Wheel of Time series. Book 7 was a little rough. Not much for character arcs across these first 7 books. And some of the gender roles are not holding up well in today‘s world. Still, I keep coming back to it. Taking a break before book #8!

Why do I save these up and then review them all at once? Why do I do this to myself?
Obviously a continuance on all of the previous storylines, but my favorite ones to follow in this book were Egwene & Suian (love them as a duo) and the Bowl of the Winds quest. Always happy when Nynaeve has limited a limited role. 🙃 8/10

I've felt like a lot of the time with this series that most of the action takes place in the last few chapters and everything before that is kinda idle and aimless. I still enjoyed it though, and this book felt like it showed some character growth in the idle first 80% so it was fine.

I liked this one a lot more than book 6. It's funny because my husband and I are both listening to these. For him it's a re-read. I said six was boring, and he said "even the battles?" Then I realized that what he enjoys in these books is the battles, and those are the scenes I find repetitive and dull. I like the character driven story parts. He's not loving 7 because it's more intrigue, less action. We both agree the show is kinda sucky.

Many critics of The Wheel of Time series consider this book the beginning of "The Slog" where the series slows down and the plot shows down. I rather enjoyed this book, especially the character development. There are new characters and factions and the return of one group that had seemed defeated. ACOS is packed with world building. There seems to be much more humor in the dialog. I'm looking forward to the rest of "The Slog!"

Some mark book 7 as the beginning of the dreaded "slog", but I enjoyed this one. Maybe it was the momentum of the last book carrying over. Things did slow down some by the end, but never quite dragged. One thing I appreciate about this series - it doesn't short change just how much work and planning would go into conquering the world and uniting the populace behind a single leader. Rand might be the chosen one, the "Dragon Reborn", but that ?

It's a bank holiday where I live, so this is what I've been doing more or less all day today and it has been glorious, after a few weeks of successive interpreting and translation assignments.
30 pages left and then it's straight on to The Path of Daggers.
My reading slump seems to be receding, thank the Light.

I‘ve officially conquered A Crown of Swords and like the previous installments in #TheWheelOfTime it starts off slow and picks up towards the end. The part I enjoyed the most was that my ship was reunited after a couple books apart.

#ThoughtYouWouldntLikeButDid - Going into the Wheel of Time series, almost anyone who read it agrees on something... things really slow down in the middle books. Since Book 7 is where the “slog” is supposed to begin, I expected to be bored. But with some events from earlier books moving forward, the introduction of a badass character (that would be Cadsuane) and Rand FINALLY doing more than just moping, I really enjoyed this one!

I finished the #24B4Monday #readathon at 14 hours and 25 minutes. It's far from 24 hours, but it's a personal best for me for this event and I was happy to earn points for #TeamStoker.

Much of yesterday's reading was taken up by the audiobook version of book 7 in the never-ending (or so it feels at times) Wheel of Time series.

For some reason, this one took me ages. I guess I just wasn‘t really interested in what was happening. Is this the beginning of the slog? Anyway, I‘m halfway done with the series!

I will absolutely bribe Biscuit and Gravy with munchie bones to get them out of my reading chair. No questions asked. I hope the bones hold out until I‘m ready to wander off to bed. 😂

Almost caught up with my reviews😎 Number 7 in my Wheel of Time reread was again a joy. I‘ve seen many reviews about how slow these middle books in the series are, but I‘m still going through them at high speed☺️ Egwene might just become one of my favourite characters, Mat is slowly becoming more likeable (tank you Tylin!😉), and Nyneave & Lan finally get their story written.

Finally! I am finished with this book! It was excellent and I would have finished it so much sooner if life hadn‘t gotten in the way 😂 I‘m officially halfway through the Wheel of Time series! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I accomplished little else this weekend but did make it to the half way point of The Wheel of Time Series. This installment was sooo good. Definitely one of my favorite in the series so far.

My first week of work is officially over! I‘m having a great time in the lab, but I miss reading and catching up with y‘all on here 😭

Hey y‘all!! Sorry for not being as active on here lately. Sunday I spent the day on the river with family, and yesterday I started my new job!! I‘m going to be working as a lab technician for a mining company. Lots of safety training is going on! I have an hour commute, so lots of audiobook listening has been going on. 😜 Hope y‘all are having a good week!

Birthday week festivities have begun!!! I spent my day riding in the car and listening to my audiobook. Today I am picking up my cousins in Alabama and tomorrow I am bringing them back to Florida to spend the week in Orlando 🏰 Hope everyone has a great week 😍

I‘m waiting for Brooke and Emma to get out of VBS and wishing so much that there were #EightDaysAWeek 😭 Between summer camps for the girls, traveling back to FL for a potential job interview, and trying to figure out WHY my car says I have low tire pressure, I‘m going to need 8 days in this upcoming week! I‘m sure Rand Al‘Thor is wishing he had 8 days in a week as well.
