So good! Really interesting story telling and immersive world. The ending was okay but everything else was great! Some big words was using the dictionary a lot with this one.

Wow that was a stunningly beautiful conclusion to this trilogy. My heart was hurting and I cried multiple times but I am a bit of a sap. Definately read this series if you like family drama and modern fantasy.

This series is so engaging every time I put the book down I am thinking of what will happen next and just emersed in the world. I get so attached to the characters that reading some of things happening to them gets quite difficult, this book is straining my heart. Really love this book and am so excited to jump into the third book immediately! I will recommend this series to anyone who likes fantasy

Well I love every Sanderson book I‘ve read and this is no exception. Really engaging throughout and the last chunk of the book had me on my toes with all the excimer going on. I could definately see this getting turned into a movie one day. Which I would watch on a heartbeat.

Overall good book. I though begining was strong, middle fell off a bit for me but the ending was interesting. I think there are interesting themes explored but quite a heavy book that if your not in the mood for can not be enjoyable.

Conclusion to the trilogy. It was pretty good, I still feel the first book is the strongest entry but the rest of the series is enjoyable and made me think about a lot of things. This book has cool unique imagery that I‘m still thinking about.

Have lots of Castlevania vibes with this one. Like the sexy vampires, not a super big fan of the narrative framing device but still really good and entertaining.

Pretty good book. Felt some similarities to the Fifth Season from Guardians/Administrators, Gifted/Orogenes also felt some Wheel of time influence. Engaged throughout the book but not itching to read any sequel unless I hear really good things.

Really good and exciting, I enjoyed the world building and the characters. The world feels unique with deep lore and the magic systems seem so fresh and exciting. Hated that it ended on a cliff hanger but I guess that just means I have to read the second book soon!

Really liked the second half of this book, so much action and excitement, I think this might be my favourite one in the series so far! Will take a break before continuing but I could just imagine some of the scenes playing out so dramatically in a tv show or movie! Excited for the show I am hoping it will be good.

The_Penniless_Author Just a warning- the next book, Fires of Heaven, is a real slog in places, but stick with it, because Lord of Chaos (book 6) is fantastic! 7mo

Finally got around to reading this. So good, really adds a lot of texture and excitement to the cosmere. These short stories have such rich world building and brings some clarity to certain aspects of the cosmere. I am a little sad that he says he won‘t continue a lot of those stories as they leave me wanting more!

Book 2 complete

TurnerofPages Starting this now! I've had the entire collection since they came out, but just because of the sheer size of the entire saga I put it off for so many years. No more! The Amazon Prime series coming out gave me the push to read them! I will not watch them until I'm on at least book 4... just in case! Happy reading 📖 7mo
TugstenDragon @TurnerofPages Nice that‘s the reason I started reading too! Yes I didn‘t start watching till I finished the fourth book haha but it‘s looking like it will just be the first book but context is great!! 7mo
TurnerofPages Awesome! I was hoping they stick to the books. Too many times I've seen great stories ruined by poetic license (best example is the entire second movie of The Hobbit!!!). So, since I've read the first book, maybe it's safe to watch the series? 7mo
TugstenDragon @TurnerofPages I think so I‘m only 3 episodes in but it looks like it will just be the first book 7mo

While not much happening, and the main character dragging his feet the whole time, it was still very engaging I could not put the book down even if I wasn‘t always liking the direction it was going. I don‘t think I would recommend this series to people unless you are big fans of Robin Hobbs writing style.

My first book I have bailed on this year. Maybe it‘s because I work in science that I just found all the science history/background tangents unnecessary and not grabbing me into the story. Maybe I‘ll try again another time.

Continuing with the Dune series, seeing how far I will get. This one definitely took a lot of brain power to try and wrap my head around everyone‘s schemes and lines of thought. Enjoyable but definitely confusing in parts, feel like I need to re-read a few more times to understand everything.

Unfortunately not my kind of book, I didn‘t connect with it but I can see why some people love it. Maybe because I‘m not into romance or something just didn‘t click.

BehindthePages I love vampire books, but I found this one too slow and overly descriptive. 1y
Liatrek This is one of the rare times I preferred the movie over the book. 1y

Really enjoyed this book, definitely think you should read it if you like sci-fi or if your looking for a book to get into sci-fi with. I watched the TV show first so that may be clouding my judgement but I think the show might be a little better than book, but if the later books are anything like the show I am excited to continue.

Twainy It‘s funny to read social media ... I‘m always thinking ... did you read the book? It does follow the books enough so that I know what‘s coming. Enjoy! Don‘t forget the novellas! 1y

snowpaws94 How was the second one compared to the first! I was thinking about continuing the series but each book is so long. 1y
TugstenDragon @snowpaws94 Dune Messiah is less than 300 pages so it‘s a bit shorter, it‘s a lot less action and basically all politics and trying to outsmart each other, I think the first was a better book but the seconds not bad if your into that stuff. 1y

Woah that was a ride. This book dragged in the middle for me, just a couple too many battle scenes but it definitely picked up I‘m the last 200 pages or so. By the end the book I had tears in my eyes and I am interested to see how the new status quo works out. This is definitely not my favourite Dresden book but in the end I was okay with it and after waiting 6 years to read more Dresden files I‘m glad Butcher is continuing the series.
