All Your Perfects | Colleen Hoover

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Not my favorite #CoHo, but since I finally just read the two Hopeless Series novellas, which timeline-wise flank this installment, a #reread seemed appropriate. Through alternating timelines of “Then” and “Now,” Graham and Quinn go through an emotional wringer as they navigate marriage and infertility.

This lovely book is currently being challenged in our Tennessee county. It‘s been 10 years since I first read it, but gave it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ back then, so I‘m relishing this #reread. We‘re at indoor soccer training and I quite like being seen in public reading this right now. This book banning bullshit is relentless, but we‘ll keep fighting.

PS. Boo for movie tie-in covers. 🫣

TheBookHippie My daughter read the covers off her copy. It was such a comfort up her. It saddens me so much all the banning knowing how detrimental it will be for students. 2d
CBee This is a favorite of mine and it baffles me why anyone would think it needs to be challenged or banned!! 😡 2d
JackOBotts A beautiful read, such a shame it‘s being challenged. This was the first book that I passed from one friend to the next my sophomore year. I wanted everyone I cared about to read it. 💜 2d

RebL I worked for a used bookstore chain that booked Chbosky for an event. Hundreds of ppl showed, way more than expected. He couldn‘t sign everyone‘s book before he had to go to his next signing. He promised to come back that night & he did! He stayed until he met every patron—a few additional hours! He was also kind to bookstore staff. Nothing to do with banning, but everything to do with character. 2d
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick Yes! Boo to the movie tie-in covers. 99% of the time, they're worse. 2d
MicheleinPhilly Book banning is indeed bullshit. 🤬 2d
britt_brooke @CBee @JackOBotts @TheBookHippie Agree! And I swear, the banners never actually read the works in their entirety. They‘re very good at taking passages out of context and spinning it to fit their agenda. 2d
britt_brooke @RebL That‘s so awesome!! 🤍✨ 2d
britt_brooke @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick Exactly. I usually go out of my way to avoid them! 2d
britt_brooke @MicheleinPhilly 💯 - And it‘s been a mess in our county this school year. It‘s infuriating!! 2d
Megabooks I will never ever understand wanting to keep books from kids! 5h
britt_brooke @Megabooks Me either. If you don‘t want your kid to read it, fine. But don‘t keep it from others. 4h

I spent that last year and 1/2 in illness, but I never stopped reading. Recently, I decided to listen to Tolkein‘ books. The audiobook is very enjoyable and well done. I highly recommend it. #reread #bookworm #fantasy

Geekerella is a cute story. I loved all the Cinderella aspects and all the fandom aspects. I recommend Geekerella to fans of Cinderella retellings who don't mind a hint of geekiness and young adult protagonists.

I'm not saying I reread this because I'm a sucker for heroes like Clayborn and love the antics of the Belles, but I'm not not saying that either. #reread #historicalromance

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The first time I read this, I was super annoyed by the narrative style. This go - a #reread for #bookclub - the style clicked and totally worked. Second person narrative can grow tiresome quickly, but Audrain utilizes it well as Blythe addresses Fox for the duration of this disturbing story. Unhinged mom? Deranged kid? Can‘t wait to discuss with my ladies!

Ruthiella I didn‘t love this collection…maybe because I am too similar to Olive in attitude? 😂 1mo
Kristin_Reads This is one of my all time favorites! Love Olive!! 1mo
BkClubCare @Ruthiella - I just love Strout‘s writing. Her ability to evoke mood and introspection and describe inside/outside everything. Human condition with all its contradictions and complexity. Yet so simply. All of these stories are amazing. 1mo

BkClubCare @Kristin_Reads - I found this copy and one of the Burgess Boys at the second hand shop. It was 2009 when I first met Olive and felt I needed to revisit. I still haven‘t watched the miniseries- have you? 1mo

Kristin_Reads @BkClubCare The Burgess Boys is on my list for this year! I did see the series and really liked it. I love Francis McDormand almost as much as I love Olive 😀 1mo
BkClubCare @Kristin_Reads - I do, too. (💖 Frances McD) I might have to buy the series 1 the next time my husband travels. It looks like much is straight from the book. 1mo
