I love this journey for Pen and Colin. And I love how even though it's partially the reverse of one of Simon and Daphne's tropes (sister's BFF vs BFF's sister), it doesn't feel like a rehash of anything that came before! #historicalromance #reread

I haven‘t been posting much, but I have been keeping up with the #ChapterADay reading am just over halfway through. I am appreciating this book so much more as a #reread but only because I‘ve accepted that all the characters are pretty much despicable. I‘m less confused by all the similarly named characters, and I‘m honestly enjoying the description and detail.

TheBookHippie ♥️ I‘m enjoying this reread as well! I love her writing. It‘s just so good. now

I've been rewatching the show and I forgot just how different the plotlines got at points. I love how book!Daphne is slightly more tomboy-ish than show!Daph, but let's be real, the best character has always been Violet. #historicalromance #reread

Buckets of BLOOD, will Silver and the rest of Pimms going down ever not SHATTER me? Also, I want more about Ellen and Louisa navigating the war! #yalit #reread #historicalfiction

Another #reread. I just love how richly Lily's world is drawn, and how much she feels for Kath. I fully believe they make it in the long run! #yalit #historicalfiction

After binge-watching the series on Netflix, I realized that a re-read of this series would be a good way to kick off 2022. My copy is an odd-ball, but I love it. Wherever I found it, it got me into this world. The rest are waiting to be savored as I progress. #bookworm #reread #outlander #romance #timetravel #epicstorytelling 🥰❤️📚

sprainedbrain Oh this is a fun old cover! ❤️ 1w
keys_on_fire I had this one once too! It‘s what got me into the series. I was working at GNC and would have 8 customers in as many hours. I literally picked the thickest book that looked interesting, and found one of my fav series from that random pick! 1w

I read Wuthering Heights a few years ago and didn‘t particularly enjoy it, so I debated whether I wanted to #reread with the #PemberLittens or not. Today, after perusing some of the #ChapterADay posts, I gave in, downloaded this #audiobook version, and listened to the first 2 chapters. I‘m hoping the posts and discussion will help me better appreciate it this time.

Crinoline_Laphroaig I'm skeptical too. But it's always better with friends! 2w
JazzFeathers I've heard a few very negative opinions about this book. It's a classic, but I'm not sure I'd read it. 2w

Nine Stories | J D Salinger

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Some of the most perfect short stories you‘ll ever read. “Bananafish,” “For Esme,” Uncle Wiggily,” and so on. Salinger‘s dialogue, realistic detail, and ability to effectively portray PTSD before it was widely discussed and accepted is incredibly perceptive. It‘s not a fast read. Salinger‘s published body of work is so small, you must savor it. #reread

LiteraryinLawrence It‘s been years since I read this compilation (maybe over ten) and some of the stories still stick with me. Teddy and Bananafish for sure. 2w
AshleyHoss820 I absolutely concur. Short story perfection. Bananafish continually comes into my mind. Just fantastic writing in this volume. 2w
Jas16 My favorite short story collection. 2w

EclecticBookLover I read some of these in high school. Only Bananafish and Teddy ring a bell. I don't remember enjoying them too much (probably because it was assignedreading), but I've thought about them and think I may need to revist them. They are the only things I've read by Salinger. Catcher is on my TBR. 2w
britt_brooke @EclecticBookLover I always had bad luck with assigned reading. 😂 Btw, Catcher is one of my all-time favorites. My husband and I even named one of our sons Holden. I hope when you get around to it that it‘s a good reading experience. 🤞🏼 2w
Cinfhen Great review, but still not ready to pick up a short story collection by Salinger😉 2w

Another #reread, for both personal and professional reasons. I still love the con artist aspect of this story, as well as Wes, Nora, and Iris being the EPITOME of found family. Not for people who can't read about child abuse, tho. #yalit #yathrillers

Felt like a #reread to kick off 2022. I appreciate that this book is romance-lite - it makes the female friendships even more developed and nuanced. #historicalfiction
