When you find what you're meant to do, it doesn't seem all that hard.

I've struggled and struggled with this book for awhile now, and I've made it all the way to 63%. I still don't care about any of the characters, and I feel like I'm forcing myself to read it every time. Moving on to something else.

The amount of alcohol that Rosemary is partaking in still by 65% is alarming, even knowing this was written during an entirely different time. But I still just think that's my 2018 self talking. Nobody in the book seems at all worried by it.

I really enjoyed this book. It kept me guessing, and ultimately, the ending was a total surprise to me, which I enjoyed. 4/5 🌟

Oh man... my commute is so rough... 😉 I'm on page 169 of 211... coming into the home stretch. Just wishing I had more consistent time to read, because I really want to sort this mystery out!!

This is really happening, guys. In my coffee RIGHT NOW. I have NEVER seen Pumpkin Spice creamer in the summer before, and now all my dreams have come wildly true. ☕❤ I only bought 2 bottles, because I have been unhappy with store brand creamers before, but I will be hunting this down to buy more, because it is tasty, and has made my morning.

Not my kind of story, so this one is going back to the library.

I've dealt with insomnia to various degrees off and on since childhood. I cope by sleeping with a fan on for white noise and reading at night to relax myself. But then there are nights like tonight where I'm struggling to stay awake an hour before bedtime. And then I find myself wishing for just an hour of wakefulness so I could read this interesting book. 🙄 There truly is no winning, I think. 😏

I just can't even with this paragraph. I LOVE the smell of spring and summer rain... but describing that first raindrop like a mouthful of spit... 😖

I had heard mostly good things about this series, but also just enough negative to make me hesitate about seeking it out on purpose. However, I really enjoyed The Raven Boys, personally, and I'm glad I snagged it when I had the chance. The book's namesakes are much more likable than I expected, and Blue is simply wonderful.

Feeling very lucky to have grown up where huckleberries grow. I didn't realize until about 10 years ago that they only grow in the Pacific Northwest, apparently. So I'm enjoying this lovely book with an equally lovely huckleberry Italian soda.

I'm having lunch in the park today, by this lovely piano the Parks and Rec Department put in. 💗 I can't play a lick, but I'm enjoying listening to the varied musical talents of the curious who come up to try it out.

In the first story, "Mark of the Beast", one of the characters starts craving "underdone chops." I looked it up, and the most common types of chops are pork and lamb... both of which I would imagine should not be consumed "underdone." ? I'm feeling fairly grossed out here.

I'm absolutely enthralled by this series. To be honest, I had previously read book 1, so I only read 2 and 3 from here. But still... an excellent collection.

I absolutely live for the Summer Reading program at the library. I love that now it is electronic, too, because even as a kid I was horrible at tracking my reading minutes and pages. I am positive I lost out on a ton of reading rewards...not because I wasn't reading, but because I forgot to log it. 😭 Now, I do it just for the sheer joy of it. I am even signed up at 2 local library districts for their programs this summer... ☺

🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 Only because by the end it was getting a bit repetitive with the jokes in this book. But, this author is clearly owned by cats, because he has their behavior down pat. I chuckled out loud several times while reading through this short (175 pages) book that is written from the cat's point of view.

I saw these books at my local library today, and I was so shocked at how tall "Bridges" was, I had to take a picture! ? Just about twice as tall as the book next to it. I didn't look in it, or take it home, but I may go back for it yet... ?

Despite my misgivings because of Robin's behavior during the 70's, I ended the book last night with tears streaming down my face as I read the intimate details of his last months and days. He did redeem himself later in his life, too, through his work with the USO and how he treated those who also had addictions like his. A thoroughly intimate and often surprising look into the life of this beloved funny man.

I'm having seriously conflicted feelings about him now. I'm still in his younger years, and it was the 70's... but apparently they were drug fueled years (not a surprise) and he was HIGHLY inappropriate with women. 😭

Sometimes ignorance truly is bliss, but at the same time, I truly hope there is redemption somewhere later. Still, I will never be able to see him the same way again now that I know.

This time the box of tissues is for allergies, not tears. 🤧 I think crying over Robin Williams would only make my head hurt worse, so I'm taking a break right now, and I've been binging The Handmaids Tale on Hulu instead. Only slightly fewer tears, though, actually... 😭

I just made it through the Prologue and I'm already crying. 😭

Surprisingly, I was able to get this on Kindle before the physical copy came into the library. Somehow this is just proving not to be super popular in my area right now... which is a bonus for me.

I have finished my books for the #BuzzWordReadathon! Unfortunately, I was rather disappointed with Final Girls. Quincey was not terribly likable, and Sam was even less so. I gave this 2🌟 just because the ending was worth the read.

I started reading The Good Girl last night, only to immediately become suspicious that I'd at least started the book before. Thinking that maybe I had just DNF'd it in the past, I continued reading. But I checked Goodreads this morning, and I have read it before... so I'm not going to read it again, and instead will focus on completing Final Girls.

This book packs a powerful punch historically. I did not know much about Chinatown or how the Chinese were treated in America during the time period of the early-to-mid 1900's beyond knowing that they were discriminated against. Shanghai Girls lays it all out there and I'm ashamed once again that in America we have such a long-running (and continuing) history of treating people so poorly. Superb book. 4.5/5🌟

In the book, after the US goes to war with Japan, one of the characters tells Pearl the wages to be earned in a factory, building airplanes. $0.65/hour for women. $0.85/hour for men. Hands down, one of my favorite actors ever. I'm prepared to bawl my eyes out, but I cannot wait to get this in from the library when it comes out.

As always, an excellent true crime book by Mr. Schechter. Definitely an adult book, as it deals with the myriad gruesome details surrounding the case. There were many a time I thought I'd never be hungry again after listening to the audiobook. But I highly recommend the audiobook, as the narrator is fantastic.

(One note, though: Palouse, WA is pronounced Pa-loose. Not Pa-louse, as it was pronounced by the narrator.)

I have to admit, it took me a bit to be completely drawn into this one, but once I was, it was all over for me from there. I had to know the outcome of the story... and it was not at all what I had thought. 3.5/5🌟

I have to hand it to the women in this town. They were feisty, and knew their own minds, and I'm loving it.

As for the rest of it... it's gory as anything Mr. Schecter has ever written, and I frequently lose my appetite while listening. 🤢

So that now I can say I finished a book during the #readathon, I sat down to read this lovely book. And, ended up reading it to my son who got interested right away in the cartoons as well. I skipped reading a couple out loud, but we both enjoyed the book and laughed our way through.

I just woke up 15 minutes ago, and grabbed breakfast and coffee and my book so I can start reading for the #readathon today. I'm only almost 4 hours late starting, but there was no way I was going to be able to wake up at 5 a.m. after being out late at the movie last night. 😴

Just for reference, 110 kilograms is 242.5 pounds. And they're calling him scrawny. I'd like to know JUST how big the golds really are. Especially since it's all muscle. 💪

I've been a fan of this series since I first read my ARC of Red Rising. And I am SO excited to have finally gotten my hands on a library copy of Iron Gold. 😍

I started following Scott Kelly on Facebook while he was still on the ISS, and his posts were always a favorite. His book is now a favorite too. I have never been especially interested in space or ever really wanted to be an astronaut, but reading about his experiences was like living them through him, and it was exciting. I learned A LOT that I never knew before, which is awesome.

I particularly love when authors of historical fiction talk at the end about their books and what is and isn't fictional in their stories. It pleases me very much to know that the Kopp sisters were very real people, as were many of the other characters in this book. Ms. Stewart brought them to life for me so vividly that I cannot wait to read more about them.
