The pictures in this book are great because you are able to see all of the facial expressions of the animals as they are talking. it also shows what the animals are imagining when the mouse tells them the scary things about the gruffalo.

Today‘s #bookmail - the Magic Tree House was from Kellogg‘s Feeding Reading and the rest were the Amazon 3/2 sale. Funny story - the USPS misplaced my package somewhere between Shreveport and Bossier City (literally across a river). I filed a complaint, and magically, the same day I got a BS “general delays from COVID” response they “found” my package and delivered it (intact!). Coincidence, right?

pickIn honor of my Author Study! This cute F, PB is a great storytelling experience or RT. This book is about a mouse who maneuvers himself through the woods without being eaten by telling everyone he‘s meeting a “Gruffalo”. He made this creature up, or so he thinks. Teaching books.net offers a lesson plan to a dramatic reenactment and a visualizing activity that allows the students to draw what they think the Gruffalo looks like w/o the picture.
#gratefulreads and I'm using a very loose definition of 'movie' for my favourite book to movie choice.... Love the original books by Julia Donaldson.... So many amazing stories to read out loud and all of the animated versions produced by the BBC are amazing. Two extra favourites here.... Real Christmas Treats. Oh the animation of Lost and Found is beautiful too with a wonderful score.

It seems I wasn‘t exactly paying attention at the library yesterday, because I had no idea these weren‘t the original books. I pulled one out for bedtime story last night and did a double take, then put it back and grabbed something easier. I just don‘t think I could pull it off at the end of the day, ya know?
The question is, why does my library have these? Lots of Cajun stories here, sure, but Scottish is new...
