1. Nope.

2. At 50 pages, if I'm not enjoying it, I ask myself if I'm learning anything from it. If the answer to that is no, I move on. If it's racist, sexist, transphobic, homophobic, or exhibits any other sort of annoying trait, I'll quit sooner.

1. Not really. If I‘m reading a chunkster I might take a break or only read so many pages a day to make time for other books I get an urge to read.

2. I hate not finishing books so I usually finish every book I start.

#Two4Tuesday @TheSpineView

1. I always find myself procrastinating at everything. I have a real problem with it.

2. If I can't stand a single character, or if the writing is just terrible, then I might bail before I get halfway. After the halfway point I'll struggle through.

TheBookAddict 1. Same!!! 2. I have a hard time bailing on books. (edited) 23h
TheSpineView I procrastinate too.. hince the question.🤪 21h

1. My biggest distraction from reading is finding new ways to organize my reading!
2. I usually try to give a book a hundredish pages. I used to always finish books, but have realized that I won't have enough time in my life to read all the books I want to, so it's time to stop wasting my limited resource on books that don't engage me. Tagged book was a recent DNF: not a bad story, I just didn't care what happened to anyone!
#Two4Tuesday

TheSpineView That's a good way to look at books that don't capture your attention. Thanks for playing! 24h
UwannaPublishme 2. I agree. Reading life is too short to trudge thru a bad book. Sometimes I bail after a chapter or 2. 🤭 15h
TheAromaofBooks @UwannaPublishme - right?? There have definitely been times I have stuck with a book and really regretted it. I remember lugging Johnathon Strange & Mr. Norrell on vacation with me and being mad at myself haha 10h

1. .. I only ever read one book at a time .. so if I‘m procrastinating, ( unless it‘s for Bookclub ) .. it‘s most likely over ..

2. .. I know intuitively what I like & I follow that ... I can‘t always describe what I like , I just know ... if I‘m not feeling it , it‘s quits. I need to lock into the book , I‘ve got to feel it .. It‘s an unconscious process..

Great questions 👍🏻❤️❤️❤️📚📚@TheSpineView

ljuliel Makes sense to me. 😊 1d
Cathythoughts @ljuliel thanks! Good books can touch something deep in us ... ... 👍🏻❤️ 1d
TheSpineView Most times I give a book longer than I should. I feel a little guilty if I don't. Thanks for playing! 1d

1. Sometimes. Sometimes I can‘t focus because life happenings. Sometimes it‘s not the right time for me to read that book. Sometimes it‘s the book.
2. If I‘m having to force myself to read it. If reading the book feels like work. Or if the book is just terribly written.

TheSpineView I am a mood reader so sometimes I have to put a book down and pick it up later. Thanks for playing! 😊 24h

1. Mostly not. Except if I don't want it to end.
2. I very rarely quite a book, even when I don't like it. I feel I can't give my opinion if I haven't read the entire story.

1) Yes. I start other books, often ones that I then procrastinate on by starting yet more books. Visit Litsy. 🙈🙈🙈

2) At 3 ch/30 pp/30% if they are very boring/off-putting. When the urge to whack the author/characters over the head with the hardcover edition (in large print) gets too strong. When the inaccuracies outshine the plot/characters; founding member of the #HistoricalFictionInaccuracyAnnoyanceSupportGroup

TheSpineView Hate inaccuracies!😬 Thanks for playing! 📚📚📚 1d

1. I procrastinate about everything, so sometimes I have a few days of doing other things instead of finishing a book. Usually happens when I‘ve started a new book & haven‘t gotten into it yet. Maybe a few times a year.
2. I rarely dnf a book. I can think of 3. I feel I have a high tolerance for horrific situations in books, but there‘s a few I just couldn‘t get past. I‘ve skimmed the ones I didn‘t finish.
@TheSpineView #two4tuesday

TheSpineView I have not tried skimming. Hmmm...🤔 1d
Scochrane26 @TheSpineView I like to know what happens at the end of a book, so that‘s the reason for the skimming. 1d
