Its been awhile since I've been on. Christmas prep and end of season sports always slow down my reading in November/ December. Here are my reads in the last month. All were enjoyable.
This book is part of our #HolidayTraditions. We read it every year with my nephew. It's also the perfect book for #HolidayDecorations since the Herdmans have some very interesting suggestions on what counts as decorations. #HollyJollyReading

This was a favorite book of mine when I was a kid. I read it a lot, based on the condition of my book. I re-read it as an adult last year. Decided to listen to it this time-Elaine Stritch is the narrator. I still love it—— #holidayread 20 pts. #wintergames #thefilthyanimals @Clwojick @StayCurious
Just re-read (for the 30th time) this sweet, feel good Christmas tale. It‘s a simple story that carries with it a message of hope, joy, and love that seems to stand the test of time. It doesn‘t offer deep social commentary but it gives you a moment of pure peace and joy fitting for this season. #wintergames. #thefilthyanimals
Picked up a few holiday books for the #WinterGames this morning! I was so happy to find The Best Christmas Pageant Ever at HPB! It used to be one of my favorites and my mom gave it away when she purged all our "baby stuff" a few years ago! Anyway, I'm officially ready for the games to begin! ???⛄

I first heard this story in the 4th grade when a teacher read it to us. I've read it on Christmas day every year since then. I just love the Herdmans!
My little guy wasn't happy I uncovered him while he was snuggled in bed reading with me. 🐶🎁🎅🎄💚
A Christmas favorite- both the movie with Loretta Switt and the audiobook with Elaine Stritch are classics not to be missed! The Herdmans are the worst kids in school- messy, mean, troublemakers. When they find out that there is dessert served in Sunday School they are off to that church- just in time for the Christmas Pagaent. A heart felt and heart warming Christmas story🐑🐫😘
Thank you @ReadingRover for this adorable book! I had never heard of it before but it‘s very heartwarming and hilarious at the same time. I can‘t wait until Jace is old enough for this. I might try it on audiobook next year. Thank you again! 🤗
Better than expected for the first day of #25infive and one book completed. I started the tagged book with my daughter, one of my family‘s long-standing traditions. Hopefully tomorrow I‘ll do as well! My target is somewhere between 10-15 hours.
1. Tagged Book
2. Hallmark movies with my mom
3. It‘s a three way tie! The Holiday/Love Actually/Holiday in Handcuffs
4. Butterscotch pullaparts
5. @Nessavamusic tagged me and I‘m 4 days late but I‘m doing it anyway! Lol 😂
❄️bonus❄️ Pumpkin Dump Cake, here‘s the link to the recipe: https://lilluna.com/pumpkin-dump-cake-2/ But I switch half the cake mix with pancake mix to add a little saltiness and cut the sweet.
1) I don't have a favorite, but I liked the tagged book when I was younger. Now I like the occasional Xmas romance preferably with royalty or a rugged setting 😂
2) Baking, family gathering
3) Home Alone and Elf
4) Mashed potatoes and green bean casserole are tied for 1st place!
5) anyone who wants to
I don't really cook for the holidays, however sometimes I make cheesecake, pecan pie bars, fudge & toffee candy. #Tuesdaytidbits @JenlovesJT47
Yes, I realize that it‘s New Year‘s Eve and I‘m getting sentimental about a hilarious children‘s Christmas story, but I had forgotten about this gem until my mom visited at Christmas and was laughing at the memory of it. I had to wait till now until the ebook became available from my library to borrow. I‘d forgotten how much I love this story. Memo to self: read every year at Christmas.
Omg has anyone read this series? I listened to this one the other day and it was freakin hysterical! I listened to the Halloween one too but that one wasn‘t as funny as this one was. I was laughing my ass off!!! I can‘t believe the Library doesn‘t have the second one on hoopla. The narrator is fabulous!
A book when I need a pick me up! Actually my first time reading this but it has been a pick me up! Total Christmas chaos. I should be able to finish today!
Another one that I read every year, going back to when my sister and I were kids and my mom read it to us. Puts me right in the Christmas mood.
I can‘t remember if I‘ve ever truly read this book before. I know at some point I‘ve watched the movie. This was such a quick, fun & enjoyable read. Such a special Christmas book! Plus I‘m taking my girls to see the production of this at our local theatre 🎭 this weekend! #Christmasbook #toocute
Welcome to #Friyayintro day!!
1) people who don't use blinkers
2) Moody Beach Maine
3) Ghost Story, which was admittedly an audiobook, but I'm counting it!
4) ok, I'm going to say Best Christmas Pageant Ever, because I can't remember the name of the one I really want to choose grrr
5) What book am I thinking of???
Yes, there are funny moments in this book, but there are also teachable moments - how the worst kids in the neighborhood deserve a chance when it comes to the yearly Christmas pageant. It‘s a moment to #shine , not only for the participants but for an entire community.
Haven‘t read this book in 25 years at least, but it came right to mind for today‘s prompt. #tuneintonovember
The Herdmans ask who's going to play Herod in the play, and when they hear he isn't in the pageant they're mad because they want to beat him up for trying to kill baby Jesus. And, in fact they go to the library to find out what happened to Herod, and later the librarian says" I might as well retire. When Imogene Herdman came in and tells me she wants to read about Jesus, I knew I heard everything I wanted to hear."
This was one of my favorite #ChristmassyReads as a kid, may be time for a reread!
#ChristmassyReads #SeasonsReadings2016 @RealLifeReading I remember the first time I read this gem of a story- hiding in a giant arm chair at a huge family holiday gathering, lost in my own little literary world 📚❤️🎄
