Second project of the weekend is complete, & boyfriend is working on cutting back the ivy that‘s threatening to take over our entire yard. Our veggie garden has 2 types of tomatoes, orange bell peppers, rhubarb, & a blueberry bush (for now), the indoor/outdoor herb garden is peppermint, German thyme, rosemary, and sage, and of course we needed a catnip plant for the babes. Now to relax and work on my swap packages🤣 #gardenersoflitsy #audiogarden
A nice fairytale but not Gaiman's best work.
I love this movie and have been meaning to read the book since I found out about it. I loved the story as much as the movie. I now can see how much they changed the book in the movie but I think both are still really great.
This edition is awesome with its illustrations!
The movie follows this closely, but as usual the book is more magical. This was a quick read that I can imagine going back to again and again. I‘ll have to look out for a copy of my own.

I think I may have tried a bit too hard to like this 😶 I adored his book on Norse Mythology, but I think I‘m just not the target audience for this 😪 I‘m not a huge fantasy reader and books set in faerie never really work for me. Nonetheless, the story and his descriptions were VERY creative and I see how others would love it. It just wasn‘t for me. I think I‘ll try out ‘Good Omens‘ next and see if I have more luck with that one. 😐
Wow @Heideschrampf , what an awesome package! You are a talented crafter - I hated to unwrap the gifts, they looked awesome. Esther's spellbook is my so cute 😍 I love everything 😁
”They sat side by side on a thick, white cumulus #cloud the size of a small town. The cloud was soft beneath them, and a little cold. It became colder the deeper into it one sank, and Tristran pushed his burned hand as far as he could down into the fabric of it: it resisted him slightly, but accepted his hand. The interior of the cloud felt spongy and chilly, real and insubstantial at once.”
The 4 yr old is a bear in the mornings. He typically requests silence on the way to school, that means no music or radio. He'll talk, but prefers the radio off. Today I asked if he wanted to listen to a book instead. YES! I turned on Neil Gaiman's Stardust (he's a big Coraline fan) that I've been listening to. Today he giggled on the way to school bc we met Charming in Faerie. #Gaimanforthewin #RaisingReaders
In the city of Wall, there is an ancient wall. But this isn‘t any regular, old wall. No, it is a #WonderWall, which acts as a boundary between the regular world, and a more magical and mysterious world. A world Tristan Thorne has to make his way through to find a fallen star to give to his sweet heart. 💫
Came home at lunch to my latest book spending spree! I love mail day 😊
My Neil Gaiman collection is growing and I might have even picked up another little something for @Melissa_J
I have never read any of these but the price was right so....🤷♀️
“Tristran and Yvaine were happy together. Not forever-after, for Time, the thief, eventually takes all things into his dusty storehouse, but they were happy, as these things go, for a long while.”
When young Tristran Thorn promises Victoria Forester that he will fetch a fallen star for her, he has no idea that his quest will lead him into the clutches of witches, onto the back of a unicorn, seeking the help of a chatty tree, or that the star will have no desire to return with him.
This occasionally grisly, often funny, always lovely fairy tale is Gaiman at his very best and was a joy to revisit on audio.
“You have to believe. Otherwise it will never happen”
Love this magical adventure! Always enjoyed the movie and the book did not disappoint. The book only had a couple differences which I enjoyed.
Love, magic, adventure, everything a good fairy tale needs. Neil Gaiman is a remarkable storyteller.
”Have been unavoidably detained by the world. Expect us when you see us”
A philosopher once asked, 'Are we human because we gaze at the stars, or do we gaze at them because we are human?' Pointless, really...'Do the stars gaze back?' Now, that's a question.
My current witchy read. I‘m already in love! 🔮
Thank you everyone for participating in my #WitchyReads challenge! I had so much fun seeing all of your witchy posts!
A fairytale for adults. There is adventure and magic and love and murder - absorbing! Plus. I listened to the audio version, and Neil Gaiman can read to me anytime at all.
