Another great read in the excellent DCI Ryan Series. This one has a twin plot involving a suspicious death in Bamburgh and a hunt for a serial killer, which is very personal to one of the team. This builds pace as the book progresses with a climatic ending. As usual the characters in these are as good as the plotting.

Totally recommend this series.

Bk13 of June & #BigJuneReadathon is done. After ripping through the latest Slaughter so quick, I‘ve decided to go back & reread the Grant County/Will Linton books from the start. Unfortunately I found when I did #TheGreatLibraryCleanOf2022 that some of them have been “liberated” from my collection but all book thieves will get their just desserts one day.😈Sara Linton is a coroner & paediatrician in a small Georgia town👇👇

Lizpixie … trying to avoid her ex husband the Chief of Police when a series of brutal rapes & murders happen. Brilliantly written, great characters & horrible crimes. Loved it all! #BookspinBingo #SeriesRead2022 #Pop22 13h
5feet.of.fury I need more of this series. ❤️ 6h
TheAromaofBooks Gotta watch people with sticky fingers in your library!! 😂 I will say that in our family we have a handful of books that are regularly “poached“ from one another as we all think we should own that particular copy LOL 3h

Mehso-so

This had quite nice atmosphere: there were some moments when I loved how I didn't know what was true and what wasn't.

Plot was really solid, no complains about it. But there were big holes in logic. The ending gave us a solution that didn't make sense if you ponder it a bit.

This was interesting and entertaining but didn't get me to bite my nails.

Thanks for for recommendation @WJCintron

WJCintron I‘m glad you took the time to read it. I‘m sorry it wasn‘t a pick for you. Thanks for keeping me posted. 🙏😃 18h
PageShifter @WJCintron I liked this and had good time with it! And did you notice how there was mentioned a novella by Ray Bradbury?? You can find it from this tagges book, you might like this book! 17h
WJCintron @PageShifter Yay! I‘m glad you did. Thanks for reminding me. I just stacked it! 😃🙏 17h

❌ My goal for the #20in4 Readathon was read for 10 hours to hopefully finish this book. I totaled my time today, 9 hours 56 minutes! Lol wish I had checked last night to read 4 minutes more and be legitimate.
💉I really got into this book and spent a lot of time worrying about the kids in the story. I‘ve seen it labeled as horror, and although it was a horrific tale, I would say it‘s closer to science fiction.

AmyG I really enjoyed this one. 13h
KathyWheeler I agree with you about it not being horror. I think that label gets slapped on pretty much everything Stephen King writes whether it fits or not. 13h

Oh my gosh! Is Will Smith famous? If you didn‘t know before, you definitely will after reading this memoir. I listened to the audiobook, and in typical Will Smith fashion it was entertaining. I did enjoy it, and while he spent a lot of time tooting his own horn, he was also authentic and vulnerable. Overall a pick. #bigjunereadathon @Clwojick

Clwojick Hah! Why I am not shocked that he would be rooting his own horn? Lol 22h
