Just kind of meh compared to his other discworld books, imho.

Very interesting first hand look into the mechanisms for investigating and prosecuting domestic terrorism. A little self-indulgent/grandstandy at times, but he does a decent job tying his youth in LDS to the cult behavior around the 45th POTUS.

A very honest and candid memoir focused on Jason‘s struggles with his mental health, career, and family.

The prototypical detective noir story. Great fun. Funny to read it 100 years later and have the plot twist essentially be that the woman is a person with agency and not just an accessory to the men in the story.

Such a fun Christmas satire. Very nightmare before Christmas. As kinetic as the rest of the Discworld books.

“Be careful who you pretend to be”

A really great story. Remarkably readable like the rest of his work.

I didn‘t enjoy it as much as I had hoped I would. Occasionally slow and plodding.

A short fun tale in the Discworld. A spoof of Faust.

So so informative, but written in a way that is easy to follow and compelling. Really deepened my understanding of modern US domestic policy.

The world is great as always, but I didn‘t find the protagonist or his narrative compelling.

I love good science fiction. I love American history. I love a smart romance. And as a proud son of Massachusetts, I love the Kennedy‘s and care about them. This book had me gripped from beginning to end. The pages truly turned themselves.

Absolutely incredible from start to finish. Brooks writes this fictional oral history in a way that makes it all feel so real. WOW.

My first Agatha Christie! A great, fast paced, classic mystery novel.

Not his best Robert Langdon novel. An interesting enough story, but the thrill just wasn‘t there compared to Angels and Demons, DaVinci Code, and The Lost Symbol.

Honestly somewhat bland as far as Holmes stories go. I kept thinking, when will the intrigue come in... and then it ended.

A Study in Scarlet | Arthur Conan Doyle

Surprisingly readable for a 140 year old book. The character of Sherlock Holmes is timelessly intriguing. I love that Sir Doyle wrote in the journaled perspective of Dr. Watson. The start of Part 2 felt a little slow and plodding at times, but I don‘t think I would change it.

A fun and light fantasy romp through the Disney World Parks. Great for anyone familiar with the Florida parks. Some of the material definitely feels 15 years old. Some needlessly problematic sections as well. But overall, a fun read after recently visiting the parks.

Pratchett‘s fantasy world is such a brilliant commentary on our own. So full and rich and easy to get lost in. I‘ve never before come across a piece of fiction which has made me laugh this much or this often.
