It was good. Not super predictable
I loved this book. I felt like the ending came too soon but then realized it was because I truly didn‘t want it to end. I love that she left it open and would be thrilled for there to be a sequel.

This one had me surprised to find out who was behind exposing her secrets!
There‘s not much to say about this mostly predictable tale, but come visit me anyway and read my nugget review here: https://debbybrauer.org/#hello-sunshine
I have mixed feelings on this one. It was billed as "wickedly funny", but if there was humor, it fell flat. Somber and almost dark for what was supposed to have been comedic. My favorite characters were the sister and the niece; one spends the majority of the book mad at the main character and the other is pretty detached. Not sure what that tells you. An unsatisfying ending. Was it good? Mostly. I'm not sure it's one I'd recomend though.
I have been tearing through lots of fun, light romances recently. This one is such a shock to the system after some of my recent reads. I‘m holding back judgement until I finish this one....so far, it‘s not quite what I expected...
A very light and easy read, but I was surprised by the twist! Would make a good beach read.
#bookspinbingo - got a bingo...yay! 😃
#JubilantJuly - 242 pages read today, 550 total, also read this in one day, which makes that one goal accomplished! 😃
From my TBR, I‘m going to read this one this summer!

The sun just makes me happy 😊 My reading slump has disappeared for now. Finished Masked Prey, half way through Cross Bones and nearly finished Diva 📚
Zoom quiz and wine tonight so all wrapped up for today 📝🍷
#KeepLitsyPositive this mornings walk 🙏
It has rained for nearly two days 🌧 but the sun is back out so I'm straight back in the garden ☀️
Fruity gin and finishing my book 🍸🍓📖
Sat in the sun starting the next DD Warren book with a g&t ☀️🍸📚
Hope everyone is feeling okay today 🥰
Absolutely loving the sunshine ☀️ Could just about deal with this lockdown if the weather was always like this 😊

It took me a bit to think of a book for this prompt. Different songs kept popping in my head, i.e. You are My Sunshine, Sunshine on My Shoulders, and Ain't No Sunshine which is one of my favorites.
Thank you to:

Today‘s Prompt: SUNSHINE

I enjoyed HELLO SUNSHINE and the wisdom of life decisions which was a major theme. 5/5

This is my Princess Rosie. She started the morning out by telling us that Spring has “officially” started. 😼
She LOVES watching for “sparklies”. Absolutely anything that sends light reflecting out. She chases them like crazy! There hasn‘t been enough sunlight for sparklies in several months. She‘s a happy girl today for sure. 😻🥳
Loving this weather! ☀️🌡😍📚 Reading in the garden 🌿🌷 Day 3 of the summer holidays👍🏻
Enjoying sitting in the garden after work and having a read ❤☀️📚
Honestly, worth a read if you have a little extra time, but I wouldn‘t go out of my way to read it. It‘s an interesting story about re-finding your roots and there also seems to be a sort of subliminal message about how messed up our society is becoming because we lie to look good on social media (or as celebrities). Let‘s say 3/5 for this one.
Not much chance to #soakupthesun here this week! It‘s been raining off and on for several days but I‘ve somehow still been caught without my umbrella a couple of times. #SongsofSummer
Two days in a row for outdoor coffee 😊
Trying to get some sun time in before the rain comes tonight. It‘s not the nicest outside. It is 70°F but wicked windy!! And the sun is only out occasionally.
But I‘m deprived from the winter, so I‘ll take what I can get!!
Sorry for all the posts about this book! I‘m obsessed (I didn‘t tag it because I‘ve tagged it in my last 3 posts! ??)
1. Occasionally & no.
2. We are planning on getting a bulldog in the fall. I want to name him Gus after Augustus McCrae from Lonesome Dove.
3. Today, lets go with Luna Lovegood.
4. One with magic, not sure which.
5. Might not be able to do this. I‘d have to find a random child... and that would be creepy. But I will spread love wherever I go!

Now, all I need is a book and to not have to go back to work ☀️☀️☀️
Good morning from #BradentonFL, dear Littens! Hope you have a great day! (I‘ll be administering the PSAT to my 10th graders today #TeachersofLitsy)
I really enjoyed the journey this book took me on. Personally, I don‘t think anyone in here (other than the niece, Sammy) was a likable character and, oddly enough, that was something I liked about it. However, I LOVE this cover. #CoverLove #BoughtItForTheCover
I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future.
The best medicine for being stuck at home sick is a good book and a fuzzy blanket. And I‘m really enjoying this book so far.
Sunshine Mackenzie is a culinary star living her best life with millions of fans until a hacker reveals all her secrets. 😮 Who did it? Can Mackenzie recover? Does she even want to? 😬
Has anyone read this before? Or another Laura Dave? I think I‘ll be checking out Eight Hundred Grapes next.
What a beautiful icy morning for an early rise to *almost* make it out by sunrise. Seeing the sun was about to show up I jumped out of bed, got dressed, made coffee to go and rushed out to greet him.
It‘s been grey and dark for ever so this has been an uplifting experience 😎☀️
Now back inside and snuggling up with a book and another coffee ☕️☺️
To all those snowed in today- hang in there! The sun and warm will return 👊🏼

Today‘s Prompt: Wisdom
"Hello Sunshine” normally meant someone was leaving a compliment.
The day of Sunshine Stephens‘ 35th birthday didn't bode well for the “hello sunshine” greeting.
If you enjoy people watching, family situations, and food, HELLO SUNSHINE fits the bill.
I enjoyed HELLO SUNSHINE and the wisdom of life decisions which was a major theme. 5/5

This is going out today for @debthmpsn for the #hellofrom swap.
Sunshine Mackenzie is the most unlikeable character I have come across in a long time. Story starts with a lie, and she keeps it up through 75% of the novel. Can we grow up and learn to live in our truth?!?!
So I guess I didn't hate this one. Initially, Sunny was hard to like but the author did a great job in making me care what happened to her. I won't say how but she did so kudos to her. I appreciate the commentary on the dangers of pretending for social media for too long and the not so perfect ending.
⭐⭐⭐
So... I think I might be hitting a slump. I'm reading both of these and enjoying neither. They both have really promising premises, for lack of a better phrase, but the MCs are so unlikable. Briget in Beyond Dead is super dull and Sunny in Hello, Sunshine is extremely selfish and unrepentant. Gonna keep reading and hope they get better...
Well, looks like I‘m acing that whole “keeping up with social media thing”. Yikes. 🤦🏻♀️ I‘m noticing that I only need my glasses when I‘m on my phone (or my eyes are extremely tired), and I‘m trying to be a little more present in my real life. I‘m single, no kids, and live alone, so it shouldn‘t be as hard as I make it. One good thing out of this absence is that I broke my reading rut - yahoo!!! Finally hit the halfway point too, 101/200, yay!
Summer Sunday reading! I wish I was as relaxed as this kitty right now. I‘m just taking a break from cleaning!
"I'd spent so much time playing make-believe, I'd lost the thread between who I used to be and the person I've been presenting to the world. How do you begin to trace it back to when everything you did wasn't a perfectly calibrated extension of who you thought you were supposed to be?"
An honest perspective about how social media can change us.
I really liked this foray into the effects of social media on one's life, and the pitfalls it can have on your social standing. Without giving a preachy commentary about how toxic social media can be, a lighthearted chick-lit novel is just the remedy one needs to remind themselves that everyone's life is not as picture-perfect as Instagram and Pinterest would lead one to believe.
Haha this book is definitely different and filled with fun snippets that I find amusing; I relate HARD to Sammy in this, that girl is ALWAYS reading!🤓📖 #currentread
I‘ve been in a bit of a slump this week. This book is definitely pulling me out of it 💛

1. Reading, gardening, BBQ.
2. Hello Sunshine. We had a lovely week weather wise and a lovely home week. Relaxed and read on the porch.
3. Portree, Scotland.
4. A sloth...a gorilla is too large, but actually I would prefer NEITHER. :)
5. 86F for the temperature....loving it.
Have a great Friday and weekend.
Thanks for the fun, @jesshowbooks
