We had a GREAT meeting of the #2030SomethingLongReadsBookClub yesterday in #NYC 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻! @BookAngelNYC was NOT a fan of this one 😆🙌🏻, nor were the others, but I liked it for the most part. 😊

I had a chicken-mozzarella-spinach-sundried tomato sub, MMMmmm 😋!

jb72 I read Hunchback this year (well listened to it via a series of podcasts), and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Some long winded parts, but overall I‘d have to say I‘m glad I read it. 4y

Outlander | Diana Gabaldon

At the book club meetings in #NYC yesterday, #2030SomethingLongReadsBookClub members pow-wowed and gave suggestions for our June and August 2020 selections (since that club meets every other month) 😁😎. They chose Outlander and A Game of Thrones with outstanding enthusiasm 😊. They want to do both entire series 😂👏🏻. Looks like I‘ll finally be getting to two series that have been on my #TBR forever 😌. What do you think of both?

Riveted_Reader_Melissa Loved Game of Thrones (wish he‘d finish writing them though), Outlander was a eh for me, though everyone else I know loved it. 🤷‍♀️ 4y

Andrew65 With those tones some big reading ahead of you! Loved The Game of Thrones Series, although still got one to read. Read and really enjoyed Outlander some years ago, but yet to continue with the series. 4y

Caterina I don't know if you do audiobooks, but the narrator for Outlander is fantastic! Only reason I finished the book really. There was an incident that really soured the whole book for me, and I couldn't get past it. 4y

JacqMac I love Outlander. Still working my way through the series. I‘m not touching Game of Thrones until he finishes it. I just couldn‘t stand it if it never has an ending. 4y

Bklover Game of Thrones should be fun! I‘m wanting to read it as well. On the other hand, I have tried no less than 5 times to read the first volume of Outlander and I haven‘t made it past the first 200 pages yet. Let me know if you like it! If you do, I‘ll try it again!! 4y

Two #NYC bookclubs today 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻! First one was the #2030SomethingLongReadsBookClub, and we read the tagged book. Everyone liked this thick Victorian novel, arguably the world‘s first mystery novel. 😊

We‘re wrapping up another meeting of the #2030SomethingLongReadsBookClub here in #NYC!!! 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Low turn-out (might be the gorgeous weather outside), but a great discussion nonetheless. Is it recommended? Hmmm. Consensus says, if you like narrative fictionalized history, Cape Cod, and/or historical mysteries, it‘s recommended; also if you like thicker beach reads, particularly coastal tales.

Lonesome Dove: A Novel | Larry McMurtry

I‘ve been missing Litsy and our #LitsyFamily 😩! I‘ve been doing so much packing, I‘ve had almost zero time for anything else 😕😔.

Today, though, is an #NYC day 👍🏻👍🏻! TWO bookclubs.

First one on the docket was the #2030SomethingLongReadsBookClub! We had 5 people attend, which is a big number considering big books can make most folks nervous 😎.

Unanimous opinion: LD is the quintessential Western epic! Everyone loved it!
