@Read-y_Picker I know what I‘m ‘smoking‘ this eve!💪🏻😂
Thank you so much for all the wonderfully spooky items and books!!
I have been looking for a book sleeve for when I am out and about & this one is perfect!!
& the personalized bookmark!?😭🖤 & this knitted black cat one!? ADORABLE!!
I‘m so excited to dive into the “Merciless” world!!🖤
Ps. I hope when you tried the candy corn you weren‘t instantly repulsed😂😂(it gets a bad wrap! LOL)
Sometimes I read books just to discuss with students or to write quizzes so they can get AR credit. That is the only reason I finished this YA horror novel. It includes a stereotypical teenage girl group with negative peer pressure, twisted religious views, minimal character development, and excessive violence. I really hope the student does not want to continue the series.

🌱Everyone is welcome to play! Tagging some Littens to get the ball rolling!
I really adored this creepy little book. I devoured this in a matter of hours. While the ending itself was a bit predictable, I loved the plot and I related strongly to Sofia.
#BookSpinBingo
I started this a few weeks ago and got distracted by my other reads. Diving back in 😈
Finished both of these during my readathon this week! Both were ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 reads for me.

!satanic campy teen slasher👹☠️💕 Omg this book was crazy! Not what I was expecting at alllll! Will definitely be reading the next one as soon as I get my hands on it. This book made me cringe in pain and had me flip-flopping over what I thought was going to happen next. Fast paced gruesome little horror read 🙀
Finally getting around to reading the first in the Merciless series 🖤💀 I‘ve strayed from my original October list lol I don‘t even know why I try to pick my books in advance, I always end up switching out a few
💕
Finally, a good book! Really enjoyed how uncomfortable this made me and how twisted it got! I'm glad I decided to grab the whole series off Book Outlet!
Pick on the edge of so-so, I liked the book a lot but the ending was a bit predictable.
#horrorcovercrush Day 5 Yowzas, this was intense. Short on characterization but good on action and I couldn‘t stop reading it. Sofia is the new girl at school and just wants to make friends. She befriends the popular girls at school and freaks out when one night she is taken to an abandoned house where the popular girls have kidnapped an ex-friend wanting to give her an exorcism. All I got out of this was it‘s tough being a teenage girl. Lol pick!

Oh my....I was not sure about this going in but that ending!!! I want to go get the next one!
I read this book a few years ago and it still remains high on my list, I enjoyed the gore and thrill of the book.
Truly enjoying reading this series. YA needs more good horror like this that's not a graphic novel.
This book was unlike any other I‘ve read of its genre. Very YA yet shocking! I just wanted to keep seeing what would happen next!
I read a little over half of this book, then flipped through until the end. It was definitely too gory for me. I kept hoping that it would get better but it kept going downhill with every page. The book started out very interesting but the violence was way too over the top. I guess I just wasn‘t the target audience for this type of book.
Gonna spend the night before my birthday reading the night away 🤓📖👣 this will be book number 3 of my year so far. Wooo hooo
This was a fast read and very creepy. If Mean Girls, Saved and Pretty Little Liars all blended together, you would have something close to this book. There are strong themes of religion and the devil throughout this but the scariest part is the sinister acts that people are capable of in general. The ending was really great and I definitely want to read the next book!
Holy Satanists, Batman! This is a wild ride of horror and fun. Kind of campy, but definitely kept me guessing. Not the ending I was expecting, but definitely what this book deserved.
I‘m not going to lie. I started this book with a preconceived notion. Not a bad one, but one that gave me the confidence to believe that I had an idea of where things were going. I‘m glad that I was wrong. There is more than meets the eye when it comes to The Merciless. Don‘t let the pink cover fool you! I am rating it four stars out of five. #themerciless #daniellevega
I don‘t know what Sofia is going to do, but she has to do something. These girls are at the precipice of doing something terrible that they will not be able to take back. #TheMerciless #DanielleVega
This book was Mean Girls meets…The Exorcist? Not sure about the second half of that comparison since I don‘t watch a lot of horror movies 😂 Overall, the book was pretty meh. I was invested in wanting to see what happened, but I didn‘t find the characters all that believable/likable. And the plot was lacking. It definitely has some gruesome parts which accounts for the warning. Just wish there was more to the story/characters.
3.5/5 ⭐️ I have mixed feelings about this one. The atmosphere and setting were great, definitely teen slasher-esque. A little too fast-paced. I would‘ve like to see more in depth details of the character‘s pasts and how they all got to this point. The gory parts were cringeworthy and on point 👌🏽 The abrupt twist/ending definitely intrigued me so I‘ll continue with the series. Fun, short read for Halloween. 👍🏽 💀🎃#booksinthefreezerreadathon
I have never in my life seen a warning like this in a book, and even though I‘m only on p. 146, I totally get it. The faces I‘ve been making while reading are: 😬😧😱
It‘s making me think of those gory slasher movies, which isn‘t usually my cup of tea. Anyone else have a hard time reading this one?
#horror #yikes
This is a quick listen- I can definitely see why the blurbs call this a horror-fied version of Mean Girls... some similar relationship dynamics here, but shallow characterizations make this a little disappointing. But the abrupt ending does make me curious about the rest of the series... maybe I‘ll enjoy reading them more rather than #AudioColoring since the rest isn‘t on Audible!
@JamieLou Thank you so much for everything!! I‘m overwhelmed with your generosity! I love everything. Merciless sounds super intense but all the books sound interesting! They‘ll be perfect to curl up with this fall.
Thank you, thank you! ❤️🍁

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I cant wait to dive into all these goodies, especially the brittle you made 😮 And my two favorite things fall and pasta together 😍 amazing!! I‘m so excited to read all three of these, not sure yet which will be first but I‘ll be snuggled up with one of them next to my candle soon!!
PS I‘m already eating these pretzels 🥨🤤
Thanks again!!

I expected more intricate depth, a lot more. Very superficial. Chilling? Maybe, more like gross. Maybe if I got to know the characters better I'd be sympathetic enough to feel bad for them. The story jumped right in and not in a good way. The MCs realization at the end was too quick and forced, did not make sense. I was hoping this would be a unique rendition of something that had been done before, but nope, not here. Barely 2.75 stars out of 5.
I LOVE this book! Vega does a great job with setting the atmosphere through scenery and gruesome details. I can‘t wait to read the rest of this series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The stories behind these covers will make you want to read them over and over again. Dying to read the fourth
#YAWednesday @TheFunkyBookworm
“Now Riley and the girls are performing an exorcism on Brooklyn-but their idea of an exorcism is closer to torture than salvation. All Sofia wants is to get out of this house. But there is no way out. Sofia can‘t go against the other girls...unless she wants to be next.”
In this series they have a few #strangler s.
Book 4 now out.
#coolbooks @Linsy
#summerslasherbookswap Part 2!! @JamieLou
Thank you SO much for this wonderful box, I don‘t even have coherent words!
I have not read this book either! All the goodies are perfect and I adore these socks!
But can we talk about this pillow for a minute!? It‘s a book pillow, with a pocket to hold your book and snacks etc and all the embroidery was done by hand! This is seriously so cool and amazing and I really really love it!
@JoeStalksBeck
Really makes you cringe. It should definitely be a horror movie. It was a very horrific good book.
I really liked this book, it was well detailed. Something that I could picture in detail while reading. I got so invested in the book, can‘t wait to read the next one in the series. If you like blood, it‘s a yes!
This book was super creepy! It was very fast paced and a bit rushed but the details, especially in the torture parts is extreme! Very gruesome. Do not read this before bed! That‘s how creepy I found this book. The cover is amazing tho.
I‘m not even halfway through the book and everything‘s gone crazy already.
