#73 of my year. From the first sentence it‘s had me hooked. Wanted to read a chapter before bed but now I think I‘m gonna get as far as I can...who needs sleep? Lol this is the 2nd book I‘ve read by Blake Crouch and I am a fan. His books are so smart and suspenseful. Quickly becoming one of my favorite new to me authors read this year!

Caffeinated_Reader This was everything! I was so skeptical at the way the story was headed and how I thought it was going to tie up...but bravo this story was so beyond fantastical. It was insane to even wrap my head around. I loved it! I need more books like this. 3h

Caffeinated_Reader 4/5 ⭐️Crazy! It‘s amazing to read about all the excitement surrounding rare diagnosis from the 70s and 80s. It was mostly surprising the ages in which a lot of the disorders were onset. Very scary disorders. 2w

#68 of my year. I have been wanting to read this for a very long time and I can‘t put it off any longer. Looking forward to unlocking all of the hidden mysteries of this book.

Caffeinated_Reader Well that was a ton of family history to read about lol it was, to me, like a bible retelling. It just didn‘t start out with “in the beginning...” 😅 that being said eh I mean it was insightful and often times hilarious but with that came equal parts cringe worthy raunchiness. 2w
Caffeinated_Reader Tons of incest which I mean the beginning of populating the planet had to start somewhere right ewww but honestly it was more than just that which is why I can see why it‘s one of those books that stand the test of time. I liked the spiritual aspect and the passing on of family traditions, name sakes, and history. It‘s a very imaginative perspective. 2w

#63 of my year and it‘s getting harder and harder to pick which book I will read next. I have so many I still really can‘t wait to read but finding the order to read them all in is so hard! At least it‘ll be easy to pick what to read since half are in the mail & the other aren‘t released till later this year.

Caffeinated_Reader (P58) Oh shiiiit. This is like back in the day when I read Otherland and felt all creeped out because of the possibilities of the story. This is one of those stories that are eerie and only fictional because they‘ve not happened...yet 😰😵😳 1mo

Idk the first half was epic and eerie and great but the last half was like what it may have felt like to be in that situation lol stuck in a time loop. Pure hell. I think the story got the point across...don‘t fuck with time people!!! Crazy story. Thanks for the anxiety lol

Caffeinated_Reader @BookHoarder32 the characters were not very likable to me. I thought the story moved too slow. It‘s too predictable in my opinion. Caffeinated_Reader @BookHoarder32 I like the plot and all of that but yeah I just really didn‘t care about it enough to finish it. Hopefully you get more out of it. Let me know how you like it please. I would be willing to try it again next year to see if my opinion changes. 3mo

Caffeinated_Reader First impressions:
I was hooked once I read : This Is Not For You. I absolutely enjoyed the Forward, it sets up the story perfectly, all the while making my skin crawl and in the back of my mind wonder if indeed this book is for me. I don‘t sleep much any ways so of course I continued to read on.

Caffeinated_Reader This book has the most footnotes I have ever seen! Holy hell man. But I actually like reading Zampano‘s words and being drawn back to Johnnys. (edited) 4mo
Caffeinated_Reader He‘s pretty hilarious even though I get distracted and forget that it‘s just a side note and not part of the old man story which I guess in a way it IS part of the old man story but just not directly what Zampano would have included had he himself published the story or whatever. Anyways the point is I like this book. 4mo

Caffeinated_Reader Pg129~Definitely more interested in the story. The way the paragraphs are positioned on the page you can totally imagine what the house and the hallway would feel like. You get a sense of wandering through the house while reading through the paragraphs if you can call them that lol I guess passages & boxes would better describe it. Long passages with windowless boxed in text thrown in and still countless footnotes. 3mo
Caffeinated_Reader Jesus.
Idk I feel like I could take weeks to process this one. The whole thing was a brilliant fantastical bizarre nightmarish tale of horror. I like the style of the book the layout the way the word “house” was written in blue no matter what language it appeared in. I liked the characters. I liked Johnny the most. His back story was heartbreaking.

I didn‘t like how confusing the footnotes were how they don‘t lead anywhere sometimes. How some don‘t even exist. I didn‘t like how much time I
I waisted on trying to google all the referenced articles just to find they didn‘t actually exist either lmfao I can‘t help it. It‘s how my brain works. It has to follow trails and maps.
