Not bad! Great banter and fun storyline. The writing felt fresh too. There were a couple things that were dated to me, slightly misogynistic (he called her a bitch a few times and was really grabby and possessive but this book was written in the early 80s and the female character seemed to enjoy it so whatever). I‘m only reading romance in Jan/Feb, I‘m calling it #LoveFest 💟

The negative side to me would probably use words like, saccharine, cloying and naive to describe this book but by the end my heart went out to her. She tried so hard to keep her grasp on John no matter how sad or lonely it made her. This book is sentimental and kind and devoid of any bitterness. What a class act. I love John Lennon but I really hope Cynthia earned some good money on this book and I hope John read it and I hope it bothered him lol

Family playing in front of Ruston home as Tacoma smelter blows lead and arsenic. It would coat everything, animals would lick it off their paws and die. The greed of men truly knows no bounds.

This book was pretty heavy. I found the parts with the smelters to be the most interesting but found the murder details to the victims to be too sickening. Some say the bridge parts were boring but that bridge was a killer! Those bridges were perfect examples of greed and inaction by those in charge, choosing profit over the countless lives it took. This book is equally daunting as it is fascinating but i literally need months to recover from it

Making my way through the Amazon Scared Sexy collection. These have been fun short reads, Ruby Dixon and Kimberly Lemming being my favorites out of the bunch so far. That was my first time reading anything by Lemming btw and it was really bonkers, I immediately looked up more of her stuff 😂 Falling was OK but would have been better as a full length novel, same goes for Dixon‘s, I would have loved to see how the characters ended up🚀 2 more to go

There was a very humorous diary entry by a high school girl named Pam in this Beatles book I‘m currently reading, as the book continued we circle back to “Pam” and it‘s revealed it‘s no other then Pamela Des Barres. I immediately jumped online to find her book 🌼 what a great cover right?

Received this #ARC in the mail for Romina Garbers new novel ❣️ it‘s got a boarding school located in a condemned Victorian manor and an ancient vampire who‘s been hibernating for 3 centuries whose been accidentally awakened by a young girl. Starting this now! I thought Rominas Zodiac series was pretty underrated tbh so I‘m excited for this 🖤

Brilliant. Best twist yet in a strike novel. I figured out what makes Rowling such a great writer, she doesn‘t rush. Her characters are so authentic. The storylines that unfold over the course of the series is so well paced and satisfying. I love Strike and Robin so much, what a great ending. This book made me tear up and laugh. It also made me disgusted and angry. A damn good crime novel.

Dense book and the longest in the series so far and it flew by. Really hope Robin catches a break in the next one tho lol

Feelings of nervousness and dread throughout this novel, pretty creepy! the ending was emotional to me. When I finished the book I went over it in my head with new eyes and it made me quite sad. Pretty good book I will definitely read more from this author.

I didn‘t like the twists and turns tbh. By time I got to the 3rd part of the book I was pretty spent. I wanted to relate to the characters more than I did. There was some endearing parts. This book was just OK to me. #botm

I disliked this book in ways I can‘t really articulate. While sprinkled with poignant moments they were almost always followed up by something contradictory. I can‘t really explain it, it‘s like she was jamming in as much as she could and it took away from the depth of it all. I also disliked the MC. I was confused about if I should feel sorry for him or not. I found him unpleasant. ⬇️

Solid crime novel, great characters that really grew on me. Would definitely read more if this becomes a series

Ok, so I think this book was a bit of a mess. There was a lot I liked about it, but idk. Too many dream sequences. If you like a maddening amount of dream sequences then this book is for you. I don‘t like the Covid/pandemic aspect of the novel either, even tho the author started writing this book in the height of it, so I get it but it felt like an extra plot line that made the book feel clunky. It would have been better without it tbh.

So cute!! I needed some holiday fluff and this delivered, I loved the mystery and the romance and the characters, it was just too cute. Fun read, fun audiobook 🔍❤️🎄

I‘ve seen this book compared to bret ellis‘s American Psycho and I definitely felt that vibe, especially as her grip on reality started deteriorating and she was no longer able to tell what was real or not. But this book wasn‘t detached and satirical. It was sharp and manipulative and cruel and sad. I couldn‘t stop reading, the MC really got under my skin and I‘m glad to be away from her. ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Does this book have crazy body horror inflicted by an ancient gelatinous sea creature? Yes. But it also has a wee old Scottish lady living in a dying seaside village that‘s being turned into a golf course as she fights for her home and reminiscence about her late husband and the life they built together. Muriel can‘t be bought and holds onto her land as threats get increasingly more violent. This book was surprisingly sweet and gave me the feels

This book was so charming and dreamy and magical and made me giggle and smile 🩷🩵 great great art and I was so happy to be back in Prague, just back in this world. (Anyone else desperately waiting for Laini to put out a new novel?!)

I love listening to these cheesy little thrillers while I do dishes at night. It was a bit unbelievable and a little predictable but it was entertaining, I‘ll definitely throw on more from this series in the future

Omg LOVED. Holly Black truly is the fae queen! Loved Suren, loved the carnage, I can‘t wait for the next book! There was something I did guess correctly early on but it didn‘t take away from my enjoyment in the story, plus I didn‘t know how it was going to play out.
