A disillusioned millennial ghostwriter who, quite literally, has some ghosts of her own, has to find her way back home in this sparkling adult debut from national bestselling author Ashley Poston. Florence Day is the ghostwriter for one of the most prolific romance authors in the industry, and she has a problemafter a terrible breakup, she no longer believes in love. Its as good as dead. When her new editor, a too-handsome mountain of a man, won't give her an extension on her book deadline, Florence prepares to kiss her career goodbye. But then she gets a phone call she never wanted to receive, and she must return home for the first time in a decade to help her family bury her beloved father. For ten years, she's run from the town that never understood her, and even though she misses the sound of a warm Southern night and her eccentric, loving family and their funeral parlor, she cant bring herself to stay. Even with her father gone, it feels like nothing in this town has changed. And she hates it. Until she finds a ghost standing at the funeral parlors front door, just as broad and infuriatingly handsome as ever, and hes just as confused about why hes there as she is. Romance is most certainly dead . . . but so is her new editor, and his unfinished business will have her second-guessing everything shes ever known about love stories.

Florence (the ghostwriter) and Ben (the ghost) see Ann Nichols's books in the bookshop of Florence's hometown.

humouress My ears began to burn with a blush, and I glanced away from him. He was a ghost, Florence. Very much dead. And off-limits. “You know, if I was any other kind of person, I'd ask you to haunt Lee Marlow's hipster ass?“
“A ghost for hire.“
“You'd be chillingly good at it.“
“I have a bone to pick with him, anyhow“
“Oh?“ I laughed. “Were you in love with him, too?“
“No, but you were. And I can tell that it hurts.“

A book about a ghost-writer - who also sees ghosts. 2 chapters in, getting lots of other book titles and authors. 📕 📙

So many puns in this one.

And so many mentions of golden retrievers. I think I like this one ...

My second of @DebinHawaii recs for #auldlangsspine2024 and it‘s another pick from me too! This is a really lovely, and occasionally laugh out loud romantic comedy following an author turned ghost writer who can see ghosts. I always think the best romance stories are really rich in secondary characters & scene setting and have something else to say; this has that in droves. wonderful underlying tale of familial love, great small town and more

DebinHawaii I really enjoyed this one so I am glad you did! 🤗🎉 I started listening to The Huntress on audio—I forgot I bought it a while ago. It‘s good! 3mo

Florence Day, a ghostwriter for an extremely popular romance author, will have to go back home for a funeral where she‘ll have to deal with many ghosts. One being the ghost of her last relationship that has her believing that love doesn‘t exist. This was cute and funny, and had me being a blubbery mess near the end. It‘s a pick.

Inspired by #LittensLoveRomance I pulled out my copy of the tagged book. @StayCurious - unfortunately I didn't get tagged for this book.

It was good. I liked the MC and her family. I wouldn't mind diving back into this universe to read the stories of the secondary characters.

Strangely it has the same bare bones as a 120k story I wrote about a decade ago on a dare (see comments if you're interested).

julesG A good decade ago, I caved and read the 50 Shades trilogy and then the Twilight series. My friends had worn me down. I didn't particularly like either series and might have boasted that I could do better. So my friends asked me to prove it. We agreed on a short story, but my word-vomiting created a 120.000 words document within three weeks. I sent it off to my friends.... 5mo
julesG My friends are casual readers and the feedback I got was positive, but not exactly productive. Yes, I had proofed that I could write a contemporary romance story that had some magical/fantastical elements and spicy scenes, but my friends' "unprofessional" feedback made me put my draft on ice before I had finished my first edit of it. ... 5mo
julesG When I eventually picked the draft back up, put it onto my new laptop and took it on a holiday to London with me, my laptop was stolen on my third day of my writing holiday. I saw it as further proof that the story wasn't supposed to see the light of day. Since then it's been slumbering on two different hard drives and one cloud and I haven't had the courage to open it up again. 5mo
thegirlwiththelibrarybag This book keeps popping up - I think that means the universe is telling me to read it! 5mo

Nicely written and very sweet #Romantsy. The family dynamics were entertaining and I thought the grief issues were well handled, although I was a little surprised that their appetites didn‘t seem to be affected 😆 I particularly liked the romance writers‘ scripting of how things should go when the MCs finally got together. #LittensLoveRomance Ch.34: Well then - let us congratulate ourselves on being smart cookies. But really, how else could they end such a sweet romance - you need to have an HEA - or at least the potential for one. But I can‘t help thinking that Ben won‘t remember their time together.
Ch.35: Well then. At least Lee got some of what was coming to him. Not nearly enough though. I wish she‘d seen Ben - just a quick peek.⬇️

StayCurious To check if what they had was still real. Ch.36: cryptic emails. Does he remember?? Does he know her? Why hasn‘t he reached out before now. Have to keep reading…! 5mo

willaful Yes, bravo to coma theory suggester!

My first thought when she found out was, oh no he's not going to remember her! But now I think he thinks it was a dream and she's going to have to make him realize it wasn't. Having his favorite book should help!

Lee definitely deserves to be exposed. Though knowing what women go through when they publicly expose men, I can understand why she wouldn't want to. 😒
5mo
CogsOfEncouragement Hottie McHotCakes is awake. Woo Hoo we are in for a HEA.

Maybe Ann stuck around until Ben had someone else in his life?

Laura wouldn‘t leave Ben‘s room. That‘s why Ben kept leaving.

Oh my gossshhh I did not expect Florence to actually punch Lee in the hospital. LOL He deserved it, I just didn‘t expect it!

Happy that Florence finished her book after a horrible year‘s break from it, and ready to write under her own name again.
5mo
LiseWorks I could not believe that Laura was actually there. 5mo
CogsOfEncouragement @LiseWorks It seems the one who caused the harm often feels forgivable. So they act like this. Instead of realizing the trust has been broken beyond reconciling to a healthy relationship and letting the other person move on. Maybe that‘s why they cheat? They already feel forgivable before even committing the offense. I was annoyed she was there but could very much believe it. Maybe her being there caused Ben to flee to Florence ❤️ 5mo

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.31: my guess? Ben is being pulled back to the land of the living where he‘s been in a coma…Or he‘s overstayed his ghostly welcome with Florence (since she is doing better now) and he‘s being drawn to move on.

Ch.32: it was a lovely funeral and a nice goodbye to her father: and I have a feeling she‘ll be saying goodbye to Ben soon too - at least for now. ⬇️

StayCurious Ch.33: what a revelation! I thought Annie might be someone more to Ben but hadn‘t quite picked up on the grandmother thing - or that she had passed. Very emotional chapter. But so lovely as well. 5mo
LiseWorks I agree about being pulled back from a coma, because he can't be dead 😳 5mo
See All 10 Comments
BarkingMadRead Ok I did NOT see the Annie thing coming, I didn‘t know how I missed that! So sweet! 5mo
CogsOfEncouragement The balloons Florence‘s dad chose are a riot.

When Florence didn‘t get upset at Heather‘s I-told-you-so tone, I was so happy for her to have moved on and no longer waste time or energy on Heather.

What a shock! Ann Nichols met Florence as a ghost. I didn‘t predict that one.
5mo
TheAromaofBooks @CogsOfEncouragement - I loved that part! What a fun twist!!! 5mo
willaful @TheAromaofBooks such a great twist! Like a movie.

I can't wait to read the next chapters and hopefully find out what's really going on is what we want to be really going on.
(edited) 5mo
OriginalCyn620 Yes! I did not see the Annie twists coming…that she was a ghost when she hired Florence or that Ben is her grandson. Well played, Ashley Poston, well played! 💯 5mo
willaful I just realized, the twist explains something I've found odd about the book -- how tender it is towards the author Florence is writing for. No resentment expressed at all, no fault... all Florence feels is bad about letting her down. That may be expressing Florence's character but it's felt weird and off to me the whole time. It's hard for me to believe a ghostwriter of very popular books wouldn't feel some resentment. 5mo
TheAromaofBooks @willaful - I was also confused about why this successful author suddenly needed a ghostwriter at all, and this twist explains that as well! 5mo

OMG…this book! I cannot believe how much I loved it. Billed as a romance, it seems to be so much more. There‘s quite a lot of sorrow in it, and while I did laugh out loud in parts, Poston‘s writing had me choking back tears, but not in a sappy way.

Florence Day is a writer with insecurity issues. A distress call from her hometown has her going back to grief and ghosts, albeit literal ghosts. I think what struck me the most was my personal ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Librarybelle ⬆️⬆️⬆️ insecurities personified on paper. She‘s also had quite a lot of letdowns in her life, which has made her try to be as independent as possible (that also hit a bit too close to home). This is a story about grief, yes, but also acceptance and hope and moving on. It makes me want to buy a physical copy just so I can go back and reread it. It was that good. Many thanks to #NetGalley and the publisher for an #ARC of this, and to ⬇️⬇️⬇️ 5mo

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.28: Happiness. Florence seems to have - for a moment - found it again. With Ben and with her family and with the memory of her father. How will she hold onto this feeling?

Ch.29: a great chapter. Florence opens up a bit around her family. Ben‘s a good influence. But what is happening to him? I almost wish we had some POV from him to gain some insight. But maybe it‘s supposed to be mysterious. ⬇️

StayCurious Ch.30: this chapter was both sad and sweet and sexy. How do you love a ghost? Can Florence handle only having part of him? 5mo
LiseWorks I find this book so sad. Florence handling situations with her family is sad. All of a suddenly the truth comes out about her brother and sister feelings about her leaving. And Ben man I sure hope he's only in a coma because I might not like this ending 😳 5mo

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.25: ooh it‘s a brave thing to confront your childhood bully! In front of a group of people too. Go Florence! I doubt I could‘ve done that. I would have sputtered and not been very coherent at all.

Ch.26: it must have been difficult to go back to the ridge. I wonder if that was why her dad asked for wildflowers - to get her to go back and face her fears. either way she did have a beautiful moment with Ben. ⬇️

StayCurious Ch.27: Florence, the lonely island. Ouch - that had to hurt. And from Carver - not Alice. It was unexpected. But maybe it shouldn‘t have been. I think Florence needs to start acknowledging that she wasn‘t always in the right - especially when it came to her family. 5mo

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.22: I was wondering when Florence would have to see her dad. That must have been difficult. And what are they hiding about the estate and finances? Is the home going out of business? I mean, how many people die per year in a small town?
Ch.23: every new conversation Florence has with Ben is so meaningful. And kind of makes me sad. To know that they are too late…or are they? ⬇️

StayCurious Ch.24: it must feel good to scream. I‘ve never done that but I bet it feels good. So long as she doesn‘t get arrested again. I‘m glad that her mother was supportive about Lee. Will Alice be as understanding?
What do you think her dad ordered from the party store? Something silly I think.
5mo
BarkingMadRead I for real keep expecting to find out that the funeral home is going under! I‘m dying to see what comes from the party store! I‘m really hoping for balloons and streamers or some blow ups 🤣 5mo

OriginalCyn620 I love the talks between Ben and Florence! I really like these two and their dynamic. And I highly recommend screaming into the void…it doesn‘t solve anything but it does feel good to do it! 😂 5mo
CogsOfEncouragement What did Dad get at the party store???? And this needed to be said: “F that SOB for twisting every good memory you told him into some deranged Twilight Zone. We aren‘t a gothic horror novel. We‘re a love story.” I adore these characters and am invested in how this is all going to turn out. Excellent pick for a group read. 5mo
julieclair I, too, am afraid the funeral home is in financial trouble. I just really really hope it isn‘t because the dad turned out to be a gambler or something else awful like that. 5mo

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.19: Ben is not like other ghosts. Maybe that means something significant.
Ch.20: It‘s so sad to hear about Ben‘s life. It seems like it was very lonely. I hate that he blames himself for his fiancée‘s actions. It takes two to make a relationship work. But I love that he wants to help Florence.⬇️

BarkingMadRead I think she should totally fantasize about his forearms, I think it would help her a lot! 5mo
CogsOfEncouragement Love the memes and your forearms comment. lol For some reason I thought Florence was going to make a little headway on the novel. All the stars to this one…loved it so much! Florence is a ghostwriter of romance novels, but after a disastrous relationship, she no longer believes in love. Oh, and she can also see ghosts! #littensloveromance

#LittensLoveRomance Sorry for late post-was in ER all night with my son (double ear infection🙁) - Ch. 16: one impossible request down, a few more to go. That Elvis impersonator was probably exactly what her dad meant, since he saw him every week.
Ch.17: I‘m not a writer so I don‘t know how hard it is to write when you don‘t believe the words. I guess that‘s where Florence is at-She doesn‘t believe in love anymore so she can‘t write it⬇️

StayCurious But the perfectionist student in me is like: get it done! It‘s overdue! I‘m really liking these conversations she‘s having with Ben though.

Ch.18: whoops! That was embarrassing! But could‘ve been worse I suppose. Not sure how…
5mo
Kshakal I hope your son feels better soon! 5mo

ravenlee I hope he‘s ok! Those double whammies can be awful for everybody. 5mo
CogsOfEncouragement Awe, poor little guy. Hope he feels better. 🩵 I agree, I think that Elvis is exactly what her dad meant. Maybe the thousand wildflowers is not literally that but something Florence will also discover. I was actually thinking that a person who has ghosts suddenly appear was being super chill about taking a shower. Yep, super embarrassing. I suppose a cheeky compliment is going to smooth over the mortification as well as anything could. 5mo
ShyBookOwl Ouch! Hope he's doing OK ❤️ 5mo
Deblovestoread That‘s a tough night! Hope he‘s better soon and you can gets some rest. 5mo
Graciouswarriorprincess Hope that your son feels better and you both get some rest! I loved the Elvis impersonator ! But those wildflowers! So much money and I had to laugh about the weeds part of that flower conversation! 5mo
Read4life I hope he feels better soon. 💙 5mo
willaful Poor kid and poor you! I hope today is better.

I was puzzled when she said the ghost never comes to help, because that's in so many books and movies! But then I realized she meant in her experience.

I think the wildflowers must take her someplace helpful...

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.13: Delivering flowers every year to an elderly widow is a very sweet thing to do. Florence‘s dad was a good man. I think Florence is more like him than she realizes. Her attempts to comfort Ben are sweet.
Ch.14: we learn a bit more about why Florence left 10 years ago and meet Seaburn, another friend from before. We meet the mayor - a dog - which is charming even though I‘m befuddled as to how that works. ⬇️

StayCurious And Florence and Ben decide to go on a moonwalk, which sounds perfect and creepy and wonderful. Ch.15: a walk through the graveyard with a ghost is great, but what if you start connecting with that ghost more than you should? What if he makes you laugh and cry and feel again after what‘s been a terrible year? Florence better be careful. Although - the fact that Ben is hearing things is interesting. Maybe he is lying in a hospital bed somewhere? 5mo
BarkingMadRead I was having the same though! Maybe he‘s in a coma, and he will wake up, and they can live happily ever after! 5mo

StayCurious @BarkingMadRead We only learned he was hit by a car. Not that he died on impact or anything. Unless I see a body, I‘m not convinced haha. 5mo
BarkingMadRead @StayCurious yes!! She just assumed 5mo
willaful Oooo, good theory! I'm sure there will be a happy ending and that would be the perfect solution.

@StayCurious As a romance/mystery reader, it will take a lot to convince me! Seen a whole lot of people come back from the dead. 😂
5mo
ChaoticMissAdventures That hamster meme has me lol'ing too cute 🤣 5mo
LiseWorks The dog as mayor is like a Mascotte. 5mo
julieclair @StayCurious @BarkingMadRead Oh… I am so hoping y‘all are right! I SO want them to be able to live happily ever after. 💖 5mo
CogsOfEncouragement There is an unincorporated town not too far from where I live that has a golden retriever as mayor. The county takes care of areas like that so they don‘t require a mayor at all. 5mo
OriginalCyn620 @BarkingMadRead I hope you‘re right too! That would definitely be a happy ending. And a moonwalk sounds like a perfect date idea for Halloween! And I agree that her dad was a good man, but I keep wondering why he had all these stipulations for his funeral. There has to be a reason, right? 5mo
OriginalCyn620 And I could totally get on board with a dog mayor! 🤣 5mo
willaful @OriginalCyn620 It's having the effect of having Florence connect with a lot of townspeople, but I don't know how he could have known that she'd be the one to wind up doing it. 5mo

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.10: Florence goes to the inn and runs into someone she knew before, Dana, and honestly it goes well - perhaps not everyone will be unwelcoming in Mairmont. But it‘s only the first night so we‘ll see. ⬇️

StayCurious Ch.11: it‘s interesting that Benji has all his memories and personality but can‘t remember how he died. That will be interesting to explore. Maybe Lee killed him because Ben discovered he stole his book idea…no, no, that can‘t be. Because then Lee would have had to do something himself for once. ⬇️ 5mo
StayCurious Ch.12: I totally get Florence and her need to do things on her own. And the ranting about no one helping but then bristling when help is offered. It‘s like me on the page haha. Also, what kind of boss goes into the bathroom to check on employees? Boundaries maybe, Tanya! 5mo
See All 12 Comments
TheAromaofBooks I find Florence somewhat frustrating, but maybe because I'm the sibling that got left behind, so all her excuses for going YEARS without visiting her family just make me 🙄 🙄 🙄 because I have heard it all before! 😂 5mo
willaful LOL, great comic. 5mo
Graciouswarriorprincess These chapters gave me more insight into the Day Family especially. What‘s with Florence and Alice always fighting? And I loved the Waffle House descriptions of the food. Plus, I just adore the best friend/roommate, Rose. And Rose‘s boss-I agree boundaries!! 5mo
OriginalCyn620 All I can say is that I‘m hooked on this book! Really enjoying it! 5mo
willaful @TheAromaofBooks I find her frustrating too. She's her own worst enemy. Freaking out because she can't write a book for a person who *needs a ghostwriter* and might therefore understand having trouble writing something?! 5mo
Read4life I‘m really enjoying this book. So much so that I‘ve told my daughter she should read it! Hopefully it doesn‘t go downhill. ☺️ 5mo
CogsOfEncouragement I‘m cutting Florence all the slack. That betrayal by Lee is epic. I‘d love to see her and Alice understand each other better and start a new adult-sibling-friendship. Interesting/weird/I‘m not sure what to make of it that Ben knew she was the ghostwriter but didn‘t let on. 5mo
TheAromaofBooks @willaful - The mysterious author in Maine is a perplexing part of the puzzle. I agree, if SHE can't write her own books, it seems like maybe she would be someone who would understand?? Or maybe idea-share with, like Florence sends her what she has so far and see if Ann has any suggestions for how it could end? If Ann actually wrote books herself at some point, maybe she could at least figure out an ending? 😂 5mo
julieclair I don‘t understand anything about being a writer. And I can see why Florence would be unable to do anything after the Lee betrayal and breakup. But it‘s been a year! Shouldn‘t she be able to get some words written by now? Or can writer‘s block really last that long? 5mo

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.7: did Benji follow her to Mairmont? How strange! Maybe he was drawn to her somehow. Interesting how she hasn‘t seen her dad but she sees Benji. I can‘t believe she hasn‘t been home in 10 years. That‘s a long time and makes things more awkward.

Ch. 8: I like the description of ghosts in this book. Florence won‘t be able to ignore this one I think. ⬇️

StayCurious Ch.9: interesting that Carver knows she ghostwrites but doesn‘t realize she still sees ghosts. And what a strained relationship btw her and Alice! I hope her mom wasn‘t hurt that she couldn‘t stay at the house. 5mo
BarkingMadRead I gasped out loud when Benji showed up! I wonder what happened! 5mo
See All 10 Comments
TheAromaofBooks I get the impression that ghosts only linger if they have something they feel they left unfinished. So maybe her dad was “ready“ in that sense and isn't a ghost? I'm not completely sure how it works haha 5mo
CogsOfEncouragement Enjoying this and looking forward to how it unfolds. 5mo
LiseWorks Could it be that Benji is in a coma and Not dead? 5mo
Graciouswarriorprincess @Librarybelle @BarkingMadRead me too! I thought it would be him but not dead! 5mo
julieclair Ooohhh, @LiseWorks , I like that theory! I really don‘t want him to be dead. 5mo
OriginalCyn620 @LiseWorks I hadn‘t thought of that like that theory too! I do hope Ben isn‘t really dead. But it‘s interesting that his ghost followed her to SC! 5mo

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.4: Ah, the Big Ex. We all have one, just as Florence said earlier. What are the odds she‘d have to run into him now? That‘s life for you. She can be nasty.

Ch.5: Ugh what a *insert expletive here*! I hate liars. I hate Lee. I hate when people don‘t get what they deserve.

Ch.6: Very sad chapter. Broken hearts, kissing to forget, losing a loved one. Things are definitely weighing down on Florence Day.

Librarybelle This is so much darker than I thought it would be! Lots of serious topics. 5mo
Librarybelle I kind thought her dad would pass away - just the way the author set up their connection and his reluctance to go to the doctor and take care of himself. It was so sad! #tissuesattheready 5mo
See All 13 Comments
Graciouswarriorprincess I despised how Lee used her. Even the name of his book! I too thought her dad would pass away, but maybe she will see again as a ghost. So sad, all of it! 5mo
BarkingMadRead Ughhhhhhh I am not a fan of Lee. Hopefully we will get to witness some karma! 5mo
LiseWorks I couldn't believe he used her like that. It's sad that she couldn't use all that material for her own book. Guess she did t feel confident in herself to do it. 5mo
TheAromaofBooks I am really enjoying this one so far, despite the sad turn things have taken. I don't know how things are going to go for Florence when she heads back home! 5mo
julieclair Surely we will get to see Lee suffer some consequences of his despicable actions. He is just too awful. Poor Florence, I feel terrible for her. I didn‘t see the Dad‘s death coming at all. I agree with @Librarybelle … this book is much darker than I expected. But I am loving it! 5mo
julieclair BTW… perfect meme! 5mo
CogsOfEncouragement The perfect meme. We found out that Florence wasn‘t just being dramatic about her break-up. That is an absolutely staggering betrayal. Definitely not easy to bounce back from THAT. 5mo
Catsandbooks Like everyone else I hope Lee is served a big dish of karma. I hate when people are charming to your face, but really they're scheming, manipulating, liars. So sad about her dad, but I hope she can see him as a ghost 👻 5mo
Read4life Not much left to say. Lee is beyond awful. I saw her dad‘s death coming but hoped I was wrong! 😢 I hope her hometown is better than she thinks it will be. 5mo
OriginalCyn620 Lee is a real douchecanoe! For sure you don‘t easily get over something like that. Chapter 6 broke my heart! Poor Florence! 5mo

#LittensLoveRomance Hi guys! Today we start this ghostly romance - we‘ll be reading 3 chapters a day until finished. They‘re quick so we should breeze through. If anyone else wants to join, or if you want to be removed from the tag list, let me know. My thoughts on Ch.1-3 in the comments ⬇️

StayCurious Ch.1: Florence is a romance writer - in secret. But she feels romance is dead. Not a good position to be in.
I feel the panic and anxiety in this chapter - I hate lingering impossible deadlines. I also hate the idea of a ghost writer. That some of my favourite authors could be using them makes me a little sad I think. ⬇️
5mo
StayCurious Ch.2: how interesting! She sees dead people! But she does her best to ignore them. I wonder if her ex knew and if that‘s why they broke up? ⬇️ (edited) 5mo
StayCurious Ch.3: You gotta feel bad for Benji - going from grisly gothic murders to the romance genre - very different indeed and I‘m sure not what he wanted. But perhaps that‘s the only job he could get - the publishing industry is not what it was.
Also if I had a looming deadline, no way would I be going out drinking - even if it is desperately called for.
5mo
See All 19 Comments
BarkingMadRead This was a fun start! Drinking during the last night of a deadline is not so smart unless she can come home and drunk write her ending 🤣 5mo
Kshakal I am hooked and can‘t wait to keep reading! 5mo
LiseWorks I love that she sees ghosts. Too bad she doesn't want to deal with them. Indent like ghost writers, but it does make me wonder what happened to the real writer. 5mo
Graciouswarriorprincess This was a great start. First, that she is the pen writer and the new editor doesn‘t know it. Second, I agree with @BarkingMadRead about the deadline. And finally, the start of the second chapter with the break up. We all have had breakups like that, the ones that rip your heart out. Didn‘t want to put it down but wanted to continue reading. 5mo
Graciouswarriorprincess There is a Spotify playlist for this book too. 5mo
CogsOfEncouragement What a great start. I‘m invested. When I read this it caught me by surprise in the best way and made me laugh out loud: “Last time I tried to write that scene - the reconciliation one, the one where they face each other in a cold Scottish storm and pour their hearts out to try to repair their damage - lightning struck Jackson dead.” 5mo
BethM I can‘t remember this chapter by chapter bc I read it a year ago, but I loved it 5mo
willaful @CogsOfEncouragement That made me laugh too.

I kinda hate books where the female main character is very downtrodden, and I sort of want to give Florence a kick in the pants. But I assume she can only go up.
5mo
Catsandbooks @CogsOfEncouragement I loved that part too! The humor is great so far! I like Rose too, she seems like a good friend. 5mo
CarolynM Will you tag me please? Enjoying this so far and wondering where she‘s going with it. 5mo
julieclair I also felt anxiety and panic with the deadline looming. And I think she's nuts to go out drinking! Hopefully she'll prove me wrong and will go home and write a brilliant ending. 5mo
julieclair I'm wondering why she ignores the ghosts. 🤔 5mo
OriginalCyn620 @StayCurious I‘ve been in Toronto on a girl‘s trip with my mom since the 13th, so I‘m ready to start catching up! I felt the panic too because I hate being behind schedule. And yes, I feel a little panicked about catching up with the rest of you, but not much because I know it‘ll be enjoyable! 😂 And for someone who can see dead people, it seems Florence should be writing ghost stories - she‘s bound to come across several ideas for them! 👇🏻 5mo
OriginalCyn620 But I hope we get a little insight as to how the gained that ability. And yes, I feel like Ben is in a tough spot. I‘m sure it‘s not easy for him! I can‘t wait to get to know him better though! 5mo
rubyslippersreads I just finished. I love ghost romances, like The Ghost and Mrs. Muir and Tryst, but the drawback is always that the heroine has to die to be with her one true love. I‘m glad that wasn‘t the case here. 5mo
