A tale to swoon over. Utterly delightful in every way. The House in the Cerulean Sea is like a warm embrace or a cozy blanket on a chilly day. A feel-good novel, set on a whimsical island inhabited by an array of eccentric orphans with rather splendid gifts. Klune strikes again with a marvellous tale of finding a place to belong. Absolute must read! These characters carve themselves a home in your heart! And it's delightfully romantic too ♡ Xx

A re-read for me, this time on audio. Still all the 🌟. I laughed in the car most days because the kids are hilarious. Lucy is still my favorite, but I had forgotten how funny Talia is. The narration was great, except the narrator‘s pronunciation of “gazebo”.

Such a magical read. One of those books that stays in your heart and soul a long time after you have read the last page. This book was captivating in not just the prose used but also the storyline. A timely reminder of how even the most lost/lonely of people can find family and love in the most unexpected of places. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐#tjklune #thehouseintheceruleansea #tea_sipping_bookworm #goodreads #litsy #thestorygraph #bookqueen #bookstagram

I did not expect to love this as much as I did. Undoubtedly due in no small part to Daniel Henning‘s narration. It was so perfectly done it felt like watching a movie.

This is between a pick and a so-so for me. I‘ll admit I wasn‘t too thrilled with this book for some reason. I was struggling to get through the ebook at one point, but then I switched to the audiobook and I was able to finish. Daniel Hemming does a fantastic job at voicing the characters.

I don‘t think I‘ll be reading any of his other books. I heard mixed reviews on UTWD, so I don‘t think this author is for me.

Infinitely charming, full of so much whimsy and warmth. I love it when books feel like a hug, and this one was just a wonderful squeeze from start to finish.

This was as beautiful and wonderful as the first time I read it. The audiobook is even better because Daniel Hemming does the best voices for everyone, even if he can‘t say the word gazebo (which, admittedly, was weird). Somehow I totally forgot about Arthur being a phoenix. I don‘t know how I managed that. Still is heartwarming and brilliant as ever.

So. Many. Emotions! This book was full of whimsy, optimism, and charm. I didn't know what I was expecting when I picked up this book, but it was not this. I laughed. I cried. I felt charmed by the characters.

I still notice myself thinking about these children even after finishing this book.... and it is fictional.... it tugged at my heart strings in all the right ways.

This is such a creative novel. I loved all the quirky characters, especially the children. I appreciate the little touches that really add humor, such as “Extremely Upper Management.” Gotta give props to the narrator, Daniel Henning, who voiced the characters much better than I probably would have on my own.

The epitome of cozy fantasy! This had all my favorite elements! Found family, LGBTQ+ romance, unique characters, and overcoming adversity. This felt like Miss Peregrin's met A Series of Unfortunate Events, added in a bit more fantasy and made it for adults. One of my favorite books of the year!

I didn't love this as much as I thought I would but I did enjoy it. I had a strong feeling while reading that the whole book was one long allegory which is not a bad thing it was just so very obvious that I had hard time focussing on the actual characters and the plotline. Still enjoyed a lot. 😊

I can't put into words the way I feel about this book. It was incredible. The messages of self-acceptance, love and acceptance of others, and family, are near and dear to my heart. This book encompasses everything I love about books and about life and I can't say enough good things about it. It made me cry at the end, but I think the best books are ones that make me cry. This will stay with me for a long time.

Wow!! I absolutely loved this book!! I‘d heard a lot of praise for it first and was thrilled when it won the vote for my book club- though the group tends to avoid fantasy. But this one utterly charmed me from start to finish- a very late night finish! I loved the eclectic and funny cast of characters from the awkward Linus to the menacingly delight that is Lucy. But I think Chauncey- or maybe Theo? - no, grumbly Talia stole the show! I loved it!!

This book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ At first I thought the narrator was a little robotic but it really began to add more to Linus (the main POV) who was so adorably awkward and flustered. This is a lovely story of finding one‘s place in the world, especially when others believe there shouldn‘t be a place for you. It‘s snort out loud funny, heartwarming, and real.
