What don't I love about this book? Nothing. I laughed, I cried, I got goosebumps in all the right places. Then I read a bit more about the background, and it was partially inspired by the Sixties Scoop, where the Canadian government removed Indigenous children from their homes and placed them with unrelated white, middle-class families. What they endured was beyond horrific, so perhaps Klune felt the need to show ⬇️

Easily my favorite book of the week. And I enjoyed all of the books I read. This one is just that good.

But I fell in love with the characters and their story. I can‘t wait for the second book to come out in just a few days. And TJ Klune has become a new “must” buy.

I read this twice and gave it a pick both times, so this is definitely a double pick. I can‘t wait, even more, for the next one. I can‘t decide if I want Arthur and Linus‘s wedding to be in this one, or if I want them to be married already. I don‘t care, as long as I can just get my hands on that book! Reading this book feels like going home!

Unique characters and a story full of heart, that's what you get whenever you pick up a book by this author. And if you opt for the #audiobooks you are treated to an incredible auditory experience w/skilled narrator Daniel Henning at the helm. Through his voice talent he not only reads the words on the pages but breathes life into the characters in a beautiful, heartwarming way. Highly recommend and can hardly wait for the next book.

I just reread it for the third time and love it forever.

First reads of summer! I enjoyed The House in the Cerulean Sea - it is like Harry Potter mixed with The Umbrella Academy. Delightful!

5 🌟 - What a beautifully charming book. I absolutely devoured this book in a matter of days; something that I have not done in a while. And its all thanks to the beautiful writing and incredible story. This book has one of my favorite tropes: found family. Which is the main focus of the book where even outcasts can find family and love, especially when they least expect it.

Attended an author event through Fairfax County Library with TJ Klune, which was all kinds of awesome. If you ever have a chance to go to one of his events, I can highly recommend it! He‘s very entertaining.
He said his favorite of his characters is Chauncey, so obviously we‘re twinsies 💚❤️💚
