Heidi books on my shelves for #theheidiproject @KassKho
On "my" shelves but taken from my sister many years ago; it's all water under the bridge now. ? The Heidi book (right) is by an Indian press, St. Paul Publications, and it's from 1976 with illustrations by Ian Pinto. And I just realised that Heidi Grows Up was written by Charles Tritten, Spyri's translator. This edition is also from 1976, by The Children's Press.
This beautiful edition of Heidi was a gift from my dad. It is a childhood favorite and caused me to become obsessed with Switzerland at the age of 8. I finally got a chance to visit in college. Think I will reread this book this year. #titleswithapropername #readjanuary
@ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled @cathysaid @Kimzey @RealLifeReading We had just a dusting of snow here in Oklahoma but I dressed for Switzerland. ❄❄❄
One year ago, I started reading 'Heidi' and decided that my new year resolution would be to read 24 books - 2 a month.
I read 35!
My resolution for this year would be - 3 books a month. Fingers crossed.
Happy New Year! 🎉😘🎉
All my #onewordtitles I read Heidi as a kid, probably just the abridged version though. I should give it another try now. Yet another book to add to the TBR stack!
My dear grandmother, who passed away last year, used to read an illustrated Heidi to me as a small child. I was heartbroken when that book got lost and haven't read the story since. But since buying this beautiful edition I can't wait for the right moment to read it again ❤

The last of the #lilbookishseptember post, and the challenge is for a classic... And I chose "Heidi" because it was the first classic my eyes happened upon at the library ? and I've so many gorgeous autumn posts on my feed lately, I just thought I'd add a little spring to the mix ??
What's your favorite classic? I have to admit I'm a sucker for all things Jane Austen.

Ah, Fraulein Rottenmeier, how you terrified little girls into thinking that they, too, could be sold to the gypsies! You were the first real villain I can remember, along with Miss Minchin. Being an orphan isn't any fun! #favevillain #somethingforseptember
