The Mist | Stephen King

For today's #TarotTakeover I chose The Mist.
It's a terrifying, heartbreaking story about a father and his son trying to survive when monsters start appearing out of a mist that has settled over the world. The movie is actually (especially the ending) more horrifying than the book 🌫

This entire spread highlighted the collective fear and concern of the world. Emotions are meant to help protect us and give impetus for preparation and change. So even a dark spread reminds us we have agency and opportunity. Thank you @ErinSueMreads for sharing this activity on litsy during this Season of renewal and rebirth. We are always growing. 💚💛💚#tarottakeover

AmyG Yes. I also viewed this in a “world sense”. Scary but....hopeful that the world can mourn, feel it‘s collective grief and move forward. 3mo
AmyG And this tarot journey….I started today to pull a card (each day)….and today‘s card was eerily accurate. It‘s all pretty wild. 3mo
Chrissyreadit @AmyG yes!!! For me it is all satisfying. I‘m glad you are enjoying the journey💛 3mo

#tarottakeover The 3 of ⚔️ is heartache, sorrow, & grief 🖤 my deepest fear is losing those I love 🖤however, I refuse to be so afraid of losing something I won‘t allow myself to have it. I may have anxiety, but I also have courage 💪

This last card is the three of swords; betrayal, heartbreak, and isolation. I don't know of any book that better encapsulates those words than Wuthering Heights! That being said, I do love this story - as you could probably tell from my multiple copies! 😃📖❤

Pip2 I am just finishing the book up today. One chapter to go! Very bleak and dark but a great story. Emily did a great job intermingling the characters with the plot of the story. I may have to read something a bit lighter thought after this one. 3mo
Branwen @Pip2 I don't blame you! It's beautifully written, but very bleak at times! A lighter book after is a great idea! 👍📚💕 3mo

#tarottakeover Oh, this isn‘t a happy card. Heartbreak and betrayal. I‘ve been reading my tarot books. Sorrow.

This book was all about sorrow and heartbreak.

Betrayal, heartbreak, isolation – Edmond Dantès experiences all of that (& more) in Le Comte de Monte-Cristo.

That's kind of HP Lovecraft's whole deal.

Conformity, ceremony, practice, tradition all made me think of the Japanese Tea Ceremony.
