I did it! I read a book set in all 50 US states. Above you can see the books I read. I enjoyed this #ReadingUSA2019 challenge so much and can recommend it to everyone! 🇺🇸 🇺🇸

Next year will be the year of #ReadingEurope2020, I am excited to start it! 🇪🇺 🇪🇺

#ReadtheUSA2020 #ReadingChallenges2020

We have some interest in this challenge that @Librarybelle started last year . The goal is to read a book set in each state during 2020. If you‘d like to get started now on planning, reading, etc , that‘s fine. @jessinikkip @TheAromaofBooks @CoffeeNBooks @Hestapleton @ljuliel
We can all cheer each other on . Grab a map , and let‘s get started. All are welcome. Where will YOU start ?

jessinikkip Yay! I cant wait. This year I only got like 15 states 🤦 8h
Addison_Reads I did this one this year and had a lot of fun with it. 8h
ljuliel Here‘s your chance @jessinikkip . You can even have a head start ! 7h

marleed I joined Litsy in the late spring of 2019 so I‘m looking forward to my first yearly challenges of 2020. It will be fun to alternate between the states and the readingEurope challenge. I doubt I‘ll complete both but I‘m sure it will impact the choices I make! 7h
ljuliel @Addison_Reads You‘re one of the others who finished ? Sorry, I couldn‘t remember who else completed it. Can we tag you for help if we get stuck on a state ? 7h
ljuliel It‘ll be great to have you @marleed 😊 7h
marleed @ljuliel Haha - I just suspended my hold on the book woman of troublesome creek so I‘ll have Kentucky ready to go in January! 7h
CoffeeNBooks Yay! I'm looking forward to it. Thanks @ljuliel! 7h
ljuliel Sounds great @marleed We‘re so close to January, I don‘t think it‘d hurt if we started now, so anyone that wants to can start early. I‘m just researching which state I want to start with. I know what subject I want to go with , so I just have to find the right book . 7h
Addison_Reads @ljuliel Yes, I finished this year. Just last week actually. 😁 I'd be happy to help out if needed. Feel free to tag me with any questions. I'd participate again, but I going to try the Europe one this year. I glad someone is doing it again though. 7h
ljuliel Thanks for the tags @jessinikkip . I didn‘t remember who all was in the group from last year. 7h
ljuliel Looking forward to having you join in @CoffeeNBooks ❤️ 7h
Cinfhen I never did this challenge @jessinikkip but I‘ve enjoyed watching everyone‘s progress🤗congrats to all of you who completed the map 🗺 🎉👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 7h
ljuliel @Addison_Reads Congrats on completing it ! And good luck on the upcoming one. Maybe I can try that next year. I‘ll be a year behind everyone else. 7h
Cinfhen Im going to attempt #ReadingEurope2020 but not sure if I‘ll get to all of those more obscure countries 😉 7h
jessinikkip Ah, I just knew I remembered seeing people tag you @Cinfhen .... And no problem @ljuliel I only remembered the people i saw tagged most often in the posts. Last year I made a list of every state and classic books from that state plus books I owned from that state. Guess its time to break that list out again! 7h
Addison_Reads @ljuliel I went through my shelves and kindle books before I started the challenge and was surprised to find that I had 38 out of the 50 states already. Rhode Island was my toughest state to find a book on my TBR that fit. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. 7h
ljuliel Good luck @Cinfhen 📖. @jessinikkip It sounds like you‘ll have a running start then ! @Addison_Reads wow, that was lucky that you had so many already ! I think it‘ll be fun and something to keep me occupied. 😊 7h
Cinfhen Thanks @ljuliel ❣️ 7h
Crazeedi I'm doing #ReadingEurope2020 and a couple other challenges/buddy reads so I'll skip the states this year, I'm going to have a time just doing this 7h
Hooked_on_books @jessinikkip Thanks for the tag! I‘m going to give Europe a try for 2020, but I look forward to following everyone‘s reading. This is such a fun challenge! 7h
squirrelbrain Good luck everyone that‘s going to try this - it‘s such fun! Do tag one of us if you need help with a state. I also prepared a spreadsheet before I started last year, with 4 or 5 different books for each state so if anyone wants to see that.... 😁 6h
Librarybelle Good luck!! 6h
ljuliel @Crazeedi @Hooked_on_books Good luck with your challenges. The Europe one should be interesting to watch. . @squirrelbrain I‘d be very interested in seeing your list if you don‘t mind sharing. I‘m sure I‘ll get stuck in some of the states. 6h
ljuliel Thanks @Librarybelle Feel free to step back in on this if you‘d like. I‘m just a participant , leftover from last year. Trying to do better this year. 🙂 6h
Librarybelle I was really bad with the challenge this year! Who knows...maybe I will try to do more next year. Glad you‘re able to keep going for next year! 6h
squirrelbrain @ljuliel - If you send me an email I‘ll send it to you... it‘s a bit big to post on here! helenharrogate at gmail dot com 6h
TheAromaofBooks Thanks for letting me know @ljuliel !! Definitely want to participate in this, at least in a leisurely way. :-D @squirrelbrain do you mind if I email you for your list as well? Sounds useful!! 6h
Scochrane26 @marleed Book Woman is a good one to choose for Kentucky. I didn‘t know about the blue people or library service before I read it. (edited) 5h
squirrelbrain Of course @TheAromaofBooks - go ahead! 5h
marleed @Scochrane26 I‘m intrigued to read it. I‘ve read Giver of Stars and it seems I should read both! 5h
sblbooks I want to join in, I missed out this past year. I was new to litsy when they started, and didn't know about it. 4h
ljuliel Drop back in anytime @Librarybelle 😊. @squirrelbrain - just saw your message. Will email shortly. @TheAromaofBooks Play along however you want and go at your own pace. No pressure. 🙂. @sblbooks you‘re more than welcome, and getting a good start at the beginning of the coming year. 4h

If anyone is hosting a reading challenge in 2020 , please share here and use the #litsychallenges2020 on your posts. That‘ll make it easier for people to find you.
Thanks !

ljuliel #ReadingUSA2019 @Librarybelle ( Anyone game to try it again this year ? ) 13h
TheAromaofBooks I didn't join Litsy until May of last year, so I missed #ReadingUSA2019 It would be fun to try it this year! 13h

CoffeeNBooks I would participate in a ReadingUSA challenge! 13h
ljuliel @TheAromaofBooks @CoffeeNBooks Sounds great. Maybe others will want to jump in also. I know @squirrelbrain completed hers and others are very close. *. Sorry if others have completed it also . I couldn‘t remember any more. 🤔 12h
squirrelbrain A few completed it already(and some quite a while ago) @ljuliel, but I can‘t remember who either.... 🤣 @TheAromaofBooks @CoffeeNBooks it was such a fun challenge - give it a go and we can always help out with suggested books... 12h
Hestapleton @ljuliel I would love to try Reading USA! 9h
ljuliel @Hestapleton That‘s great ! We now have 3 , maybe 4 ( if I include myself). I‘m very tempted to try it again , but I‘m not good at book challenges. I‘ll see if I can Yank Out some courage to give it another go. I‘ll tag you guys that are interested , so you can all be each other‘s backup people. 🤗 9h
jessinikkip I would love a chance at redemption at the Reading USA challenge. I did AWFUL this year @ljuliel 8h
ljuliel @jessinikkip. Sounds great. I did the same. I started out good , but fizzled out. Maybe we should try it again this year. I‘ll tag you. 8h

And on the same day you received my #jolabokaflod I received this great parcel from you! Thank you so much for the book (so nice to receive a Danish author from you!) and your sweet words! I am looking forward to reading it for #ReadingEurope2020 ❤️😘

LeahBergen This is one of my favourite movies! I have to read the story still (I have it in a different collection of her stories). ❤️ 1d
Kalalalatja That was so fast, Yay! And I haven‘t read it myself, but it is a Danish classic, so I hope you‘ll like it ☺️ 1d
Fridameetslucy That movie !!! 1d
Tamra @LeahBergen I have loved both! I rewatch the movie every couple of years. 💜 22h

I try not to think too much about the next year‘s challenges before the current year is over, but I‘m starting to consider books for #ReadingEurope2020 that are also on the #1001books list. I‘ve added these 3 to my collection with that in mind. I‘m curious if other U.S. readers might be interested in sharing or swapping some books that work for both next year. The tagged book is on my list for Estonia, Zorba for Greece, and Magician for Poland.

Look what I found in the library at lunchtime! 😁 It covers 4 of the 5 micro states (only Vatican City not included).

I decided to get it out whilst I had it on my radar, as this library loans books for 12 weeks, so it doesn‘t need to go back until 2nd March!

Librarybelle Awesome!! 5d
RachelO That‘s neat! And, as a hopeless slow-coach, I‘m madly jealous of your 12-wk loans 😁 5d
squirrelbrain And you can get 30 books out at the same time @RachelO 📚📚📚📚 5d
BarbaraBB Perfect!!! 👌 5d
youneverarrived You‘ll have to let us know if it‘s good 😊 5d
