atla I was so psyched (see what I did there?) to hear a Galavant reference on the podcast this morning 😍 I‘m basically obsessed with that show and have listened to the soundtrack literally hundreds of times (and maybe have a custom popsocket with Tim O on it). Do you follow Joshua Sasse (guy who plays Galavant) on IG? He recently posted a video of himself reading (while wrangling his kid) a children‘s poem he wrote. It is delightful. 12mo

Happy New Year, kittens! January 1st is always my second favorite day of the year (after Daylight Savings in the fall when we turn the clocks back, because we get an extra hour to read.) I love starting a new reading spreadsheet and seeing how many books I can read for the year. I am wishing so hard that we all have an easier year this year. Now enough mushy stuff—it‘s time to read my first book of 2021! What is your first read of 2021? ❤️📚⭐️

In December, I don‘t have to read any new titles for episodes of All the Books! because we do wrap-up and preview shows, so it‘s kind of a free reading pass month for me. I usually use the time to get ahead on reading for the next year‘s episodes, but this weekend I am going to spend it revisiting some of my favorites from 2020. I AM SO IN LOVE WITH THIS BOOK. After I read it, I immediately started it over and read it again - that‘s how good it is. 🤩 It‘s a centuries-long story of an immortal young woman doomed by the Devil to be forgotten, and her experiences of love and loss over 300 years. It‘s exciting, funny, sexy, and magical. This is an enchanting book that will help you lose yourself and let the world fall away. It‘s out October 6th and you will love it. ✨🖤💫

This book knocked my brain‘s socks off! @jessicaesquire said “It‘s like if Chaim Potok wrote The Secret History.” And I said, “GIMME.” Y‘all know how much I love The Secret History. And while there have been many books compared to it, this is the first I believe WORTHY. It‘s time for my favorite part of reorganizing: alphabetizing! I have been looking forward to this all week because I think alphabetizing is an epic nerdpurr. I organize my books alphabetically by title, and the last time I did this, it took me about 16 hours to add new titles to my library. This time I am adding fewer books, so maybe I‘ll be done by midnight, lol. TL;DR: YAY, BOOKS! 📚❤️📚

Literary_Siren I like to alphabetize by authors last name. Mostly because I might know who I want to read but I won‘t know which of their books sounds good at the time. Also, I own a lot of series and like to keep them together. (edited) 2y

Weekend plans: Time to straighten my library! It has been 18 months since I culled 2600 books from my home, and since then, about 1600 have come in but I haven‘t organized them, so now there are stacks and stacks everywhere. But I ate my spinach this morning and I‘m ready to rumble. *cracks knuckles* 📚❤️📚

8little_paws Amazing!! 2y
Lesanne That‘s....quite impressive! 2y

📚BOOK MAIL! 📚Over the last couple weeks, I have made several online purchases from indie bookstores around the country, and the books are starting to arrive now. I have read most of these and loved them, but didn‘t own physical copies, so I took this opportunity to correct that. I am very excited to read the rest. And there are still more to come! Do you see any favorites here? 📚❤️📚

I have spent my lovely Maine weekend relaxing in my hammock, reading great books and staring at our rhododendron, which I think always loses its blossoms too soon. Yesterday I read The Southern Book Club‘s Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix, which I thought was great fun. It gave me (old) Fright Night vibes. Now I‘m going to read these, which I just noticed have kinda similar covers. What are you reading today? 🌹📚🍑

Lizpixie Just finished The Bear And The Nightingale by Katherine Arden, now I‘m listening to Jurassic Park on audio🦖🎧 2y
TheLibrarian Reading an arc of The Lightness by Emily Temple while enjoying the great outdoors! I hate bugs but they aren‘t too bad yet. 2y
Karkar Trying to finish up the following but the dogs and the laundry are interfering. 2y
Linsy Vampires was so fun!! But definitely freaky. I blew through it! 1y

A Good Marriage | Kimberly McCreight
post image

It‘s the first of the month - that means it‘s time for new Book of the Month selections! My judge pick this month is A GOOD MARRIAGE by Kimberly McCreight. She weaves tantalizing threads of murder, scandal, and secrets, teasing them out perfectly until the explosive conclusion, when she pulls them all tight around your brain like a corset! I hella enjoyed this one.

Kangaj1 I picked this one and added on Dear Edward! 2y
TheLibrarian I always love when you are a judge! 2y
Hooked_on_books This is the one I picked! I love this author. 2y
