Mehso-so

I loved the vaguely Russian setting and the different classes of magic but overall the book was pretty "meh". The main character was bland and the main love interest equally so. I've no interest in reading the rest of their story but I probably will because The Darkling is an excellent and intriguing villain. #favevillain #riotgrams

As much as I love heroes & heroines, they aren't nearly as interesting without the perfect villain. There are many wonderful villains out there (Moriarty and Umbrage are fantastic), but my #favevillain come Guiding Light. I loved that soap opera back in the 80s & 90s. I love Reva Shayne, but Annie Dutton (portrayed by Cynthia Watros) was abfab! A villain you love to hate is among the greatest pleasures of books, movies, and yes, even soap operas.

megt Guiding Light! I remember watching that off and on when I was growing up (at times probably way too young for some of the storylines). Annie was a great villain. 7y
bookishbunny OMG! This was my show! I miss it. I remember Annie. She was a great villain. I would put Roger Thorpe down as one, too. 7y
LitHousewife @megt It was such a good soap! In college, my friend and I scheduled classes around it. We called it Reva. 🙂 7y
LitHousewife @bookishbunny Oh, yes! Roger Thorpe was a great villain, too. 7y
megt I love that you scheduled classes around it! I remember getting hooked on the crazy Marian (aka Brent) storyline. Reading about it now, I realize that SO MUCH of it went over my 9 year old head, but Marian was kooky and creepy and I was sort of fascinated by what went into a character like that. 7y

For my #favevillain , I'm going to go with Count Olaf. Partially because I am currently reading these books for (mostly) the first time, but also because he is just so... Olaf. He's absurd and ridiculous and I think that NPH plays him perfectly in the new Netflix series! I am always amused by his antics (even though they're nefarious) and I am usually dashing to the finish to find out what he'll think of next! #RiotGrams

I haven't actually read this series yet, but I watch the show, and I absolutely LOVE Moriarty! By far my #favevillain of all time.

Playing a little catch up, I missed yesterday's #SeptPhotoChallenge. The woods in this book are my #FaveVillain! I love that the woods, from the creatures that dwell there to the trees themselves, are sentient and have an agenda that includes feeding people to trees!

Somehow forgot to post my #favevillain yesterday! Loved bellatrix, as crazy as she was (and even though she killed my favorite character in the series)! I think helena bonam carter did an amazing job portraying her in the movies as well! #somethingforsept #septphotochallenge @RealLifeReading

Pickpick

I know Bellatrix Lestrange was the true villain of the piece, but it was good to see Molly (my favourite character) unleash some of her inner badass AND cause the film adaptation to pass the Bechdel Test with that line "NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH." ? #harrypotter #jkrowling #somethingforseptember #septphotochallenge #favevillain #bechdeltest

All day I've heard their clamorous screams of "Pick me!" Torak, Lord Foul, Master Eremis, Snow, Quilp, Dracula, DuVac, the Adderhead, Angus Thermopyle, Baron Harkonnen... Finally, I chose Elric: he's his own worst enemy; kept alive by a soul devouring sword that enjoys the souls of his friends & loved ones even more than those of his enemies. He's both villain & champion; the ultimate antihero. #somethingforsept #septphotochallenge #favevillain

My #favevillain is definitely Iago, but Richard III and Dacula are tied for a close second. #somethingforsept #septphotochallenge
