“‘Man hands on misery to man, it deepens, like a coastal shelf...‘” people don‘t realize how strong of language is used in the actual poem once they hear it in ASOUE
Love this series (and the Netflix adaptation actually answers most of your lingering questions!) Count Olaf feels like a particularly relevant villain in his ability to manipulate those around him with obvious lies and flimsy cover ups. #middlegrade
just finished binging the LAST SEASON OF SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS ON NETFLIX!!! WIG SNATCHED. but what do y'all think of the ending? Do you prefer the hopeful Netflix or the bleak original, and why?
Did I just binge watch the 3rd and final season of A series of Unfortunate Events in 1 1/2 days? Yes, yes I did, and it was worth it. 💙Going to reread this series - last time I read it was when I was twelve and the details of the last couple books are a bit fuzzy.
This last book I think might be my favorite in the series, although I don‘t know yet how I feel about the ending.
After reading the whole series, I feel very well prepared for the verbal section of the GRE. 👍👍👍
We are home from our short visit to NYC now and happy the kitties are still alive and well after their first time home alone. The furniture has been rearranged, but the Christmas tree is miraculously still standing and there are no loose tarantulas or gold teeth or remnants of booby traps. We are both very tired and incapable of doing anything other than read! 👍
Waiting for a train to NYC whilst freezing my ass off! (We‘re going to the Harry Potter history exhibit!)
I wasn‘t planning to make this my next read, but I know my husband is going to be anxious to watch season 3 on Netflix next week (!!!) so I need to bump this up and get moving!!
What's the last book you felt this way about? Mine is in the comments.👇
What an appropriate book to finish out my 2018 reading goal challenge. Apparently I should have set it a bit higher, but I don‘t read as much in summer so it‘ll slow down for a bit now until it gets cold here again. I can‘t wait to share this series with our future kiddos.
i have mixed feelings. i get what the author was going for, and i think he did an okay job of it, but there‘s a difference between “not getting every answer” and “not getting any answer”. it‘s easy to write an intriguing story if you don‘t have to tie up the loose ends - a better book would be equally intriguing, but actually answer some questions.
My goal was 52 (or at least one a week) so I‘m okay with this even though it‘s significantly lower than previous years. I set pretty lax goals so that I don‘t stress myself out. 😅

A kind of meh ending to an interesting series. An unfair amount of loose threads, in my humblest opinion, but there you are.
This is my "I have two more papers to grade before 3P and it's the end of the week and I'm exhausted" face. Fitting for "the end" I think. ?#teachersoflitsy #professorsoflitsy
Loved the whole series, and this book was one of the best. It completed the series, and there isn't much else to say except that it was amazing. I read when I was home sick, and after finishing had a bittersweet moment, it was over, but it was perfect. Not to mention Lemony Snicket it hilarious #vfd #asoue #theend
My now overflowing bookshelf modeled here by my reading companion! #SpaceJam
For our purposes this is Book the Thirteenth and that's a #numbertitle ... I was completely satisfied by the ending and the series as a whole. It's impressive that Handler decided to go for it and teach his young audience that books are rarely really about their plot...very fitting for such coyly didactic books. #riotgrams #numbertitles
My closet has more books than clothes. I recently rearranged some things so I could fit another shelf there. There are two shelves off to the side that are cut off in this picture. #aprilbookshowers #shelfie
The End poses the question of whether it's worth living in a world where unexplained unfortunate events happen to people and where you don't know if you're noble or villainous at any given moment. The Baudelaires decide that the answer is yes. I think that's a wonderful theme that ends the series on a good note while taking into account that there is no happy ending.
I came home to HAPPY BOOK MAIL!!!! Keegan is devouring this series and I was missing 2 so I went ahead and ordered them and a super cool blank book to go with it for him to fill out 😎📚 @thriftbooks #lemonysnicket #aseriesofunfortunateevents #boyslovebooks #boysreadtoo #raiseareader #boymom #bookaddict #book #books #booknerd #bookgeek #booklife #booklove #bookworm #bibliophile #thriftbooks
