End | Lemony Snicket
Like an off-key violin concert, the Roman Empire, or food poisoning, all things must come to an end. Thankfully, this includes A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. The thirteenth and final installment in the groundbreaking series will answer readers most burning questions: Will Count Olaf prevail? Will the Baudelaires survive? Will the series end happily? If there s nothing out there, what was that noise? Then again, why trouble yourself with unfortunate resolutions? Avoid the thirteenth and final book of Lemony Snicket s international bestselling series and you ll never have to know what happens. Ages 10+"

Love this series (and the Netflix adaptation actually answers most of your lingering questions!) Count Olaf feels like a particularly relevant villain in his ability to manipulate those around him with obvious lies and flimsy cover ups. #middlegrade

just finished binging the LAST SEASON OF SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS ON NETFLIX!!! WIG SNATCHED. but what do y'all think of the ending? Do you prefer the hopeful Netflix or the bleak original, and why?

85eliana Both! When I finished the book series, I felt frustrated with so many unanswered questions. Yet, at the same time, I like what was being said thematically by having so much be unknown. The ending of the book series wasn‘t as upbeat as show, but it had enough hope the most of the show‘s ending felt earned. I‘m glad Lemony had his moment with little Beatrice. 9mo

Did I just binge watch the 3rd and final season of A series of Unfortunate Events in 1 1/2 days? Yes, yes I did, and it was worth it. 💙Going to reread this series - last time I read it was when I was twelve and the details of the last couple books are a bit fuzzy.

MirrorMask Yeah, I watched all of it yesterday and now I want to read the books. 9mo
Emily92Bibliophile @MirrorMask you totally should read the books! First couple are really slow, but after book 4 they go very well. 9mo

After reading the whole series, I feel very well prepared for the verbal section of the GRE. 👍👍👍

We are home from our short visit to NYC now and happy the kitties are still alive and well after their first time home alone. The furniture has been rearranged, but the Christmas tree is miraculously still standing and there are no loose tarantulas or gold teeth or remnants of booby traps. We are both very tired and incapable of doing anything other than read! 👍

i have mixed feelings. i get what the author was going for, and i think he did an okay job of it, but there‘s a difference between “not getting every answer” and “not getting any answer”. it‘s easy to write an intriguing story if you don‘t have to tie up the loose ends - a better book would be equally intriguing, but actually answer some questions.

A kind of meh ending to an interesting series. An unfair amount of loose threads, in my humblest opinion, but there you are.

This book honestly felt rather unnecessary, even if it was fun. The end is really unsatisfying, but that completely fits the rest of the series so it makes a lot of sense. Still, I would have liked a little more closure.

Loved the whole series, and this book was one of the best. It completed the series, and there isn't much else to say except that it was amazing. I read when I was home sick, and after finishing had a bittersweet moment, it was over, but it was perfect. Not to mention Lemony Snicket it hilarious #vfd #asoue #theend

For our purposes this is Book the Thirteenth and that's a #numbertitle ... I was completely satisfied by the ending and the series as a whole. It's impressive that Handler decided to go for it and teach his young audience that books are rarely really about their plot...very fitting for such coyly didactic books. #riotgrams #numbertitles

The End poses the question of whether it's worth living in a world where unexplained unfortunate events happen to people and where you don't know if you're noble or villainous at any given moment. The Baudelaires decide that the answer is yes. I think that's a wonderful theme that ends the series on a good note while taking into account that there is no happy ending.
