There was so much great music in the 70's I can't choose a few songs. Instead I thought I'd treat you to the sight of some popular Australian bands. Top L Skyhooks (seriously good - their album Living in the 70s is a must), top R Sherbet (every teenage girl's pin-ups), bottom L The Ted Mulry Gang (a cut-price Sherbet), bottom R Daddy Cool (also seriously good -their song Eagle Rock inspired Elton John's Crocodile Rock) #StepfordSummerParty

Cinfhen Check out all of their outfits!!! Or lack of...so good!!! Tagging my bff @Lizpixie who LOVES #AUSSIEROCK 4y
CarolynM @Lizpixie will be very familiar with all of these gentlemen @Cinfhen 4y
batsy Very cool! I don't believe I'm familiar with these bands and can't wait to check them out 🤘🏽🎶 4y

CarolynM @batsy I chose these for the visuals not the music but both Daddy Cool and Skyhooks are worth checking out😀 4y
Lizpixie I love Sherbet! Howzat is the song of my childhood, Eagle Rock is still one of the best songs ever written, The Ted Mulry Gang was my eldest sisters band & Skyhooks. Oh Skyhooks how I love you so. With Shirley Strahan on vocals & the ever debonair & extremely sarcastic Red Symons on guitar. Have a listen to Women In Uniform. Sexist, yes totally, but such a fun song🧡🧡🧡 4y
CarolynM @Lizpixie Then listen to The Whitlams covering it. Red used to freak me out but I got it once I grew up! We lived in the same suburb as him for a while and I used to see him in the local supermarket. The desire to throw Twisties was very hard to resist.😂😂😂 4y
Bookzombie I‘m going to have to look these all up! Fun! 4y
mabell Cool! I took a screenshot as a reference 😁 4y
CarolynM @Bookzombie @mabell If you're interested in Australian music of the 70s and 80s @Lizpixie 's #MarchIntoOz list is a much better reference 4y
Lizpixie Why thank you @CarolynM I love music just as much as I love books! (edited) 4y
GripLitGrl Very cool I feel a you tube search upon me later👍 4y
DebinHawaii I totally need to listen to these! I need more Australian music education! 👍👍😍 4y

#MarchIntoOz #WideOpenRoad 🚲Books about traveling & wide open roads are even better when they contain food.😋Anik See journeyed through 12 countries, riding her bike, meeting people & enjoying food. We read this one for my virtual foodie book club in 2010 & I cooked 2 Thai-inspired dishes-one from the book & one from my own travels there.

Mahalo for another fun photo challenge & the exposure to some great Aussie tunes! @Cinfhen & @Lizpixie 🎼❤️

Gezemice I love your food pics and recipes. My kind of food. Lots of soups and greens! 5y
Cinfhen When are you gonna be my guest host??? I‘d love for you to join me🙌🏻 5y
DebinHawaii @Gezemice Thank you! Yes--there's never a shortage of soups and greens! 😆👍 5y

DebinHawaii @Cinfhen I thought you were backed up to forever with guest hosts? I 'd love to some time--although I don't know if I'm smart enough to make a Spotify playlist. 😆 5y

DebinHawaii @Cinfhen OK, we'll pencil me in for some time in 2019 then. 😆 5y

...of pines and cedar-choked backwoods.

Texas Ranger Darren Matthews seems to be spending most of this book on the #wideopenroad. I doubt he'll be home before the end of the book. And he's seen the odd thing(!) from brhind the wheel of his truck.

Wow, that month went quickly! Thanks for the challenge @Lizpixie @Cinfhen #marchintooz

Cinfhen Love this ❤️ 5y

Ran my errands & settling in to finish up these two books in the month of March. (I've got about 13 hours to midnight here!) What else does this (gray & rainy) Saturday before Easter hold? It includes green juice to counter the effects of a Russell Stover Marshmallow Egg (in honor of my mom who loved them💙) & lavender-hued toes.

Can purple toes make someone #FallAtYourFeet ? (I'm sorry but I'm catching up on #MarchIntoOz & I had to be lame!) 💜

Cinfhen I love that u made it work 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 5y

A great way to end #MarchintoOz
I'm probably a little bit too keen on travel writing - some may say obsessed. I can't pick a favourite so I'm going with one of the modern greats, Paul Theroux.
Thanks for organising @Cinfhen @Lizpixie ... another great month of fun, inventive prompts.

JanuarieTimewalker13 Loved Hotel Honolulu! 5y
Cinfhen Thanks so much for joining in all month 💋I enjoyed seeing your choices🙌🏻 5y

After 3 decades serving as a butler in England, Stevens takes a trip down the #wideopenroad and ends up contemplating his life and his service as a butler. Wonderful book!

BarbaraBB One of my favourite books 💜. Great graphics too! (edited) 5y

Cinfhen Still on my TBR...not rushing to read it 😬 5y
emilyhaldi @Cinfhen it‘s a great book, so well written.. and yet, not a book I would goad someone else into reading bc it kinda has to be the right time right place for each, I think... If that makes any sense 😊 5y
Cinfhen Yes!! I totally get that😁 5y
Cathythoughts Anthony Hopkins plays a great James Stevens .... 😭 4y

A lot of time spent on the road in this one. A fitting end to #marchintooz as it‘s set in Australia.
Thanks to Cindy and Liz for this month 😁❤️

Cathythoughts Perfect 👍🏻 5y
Cinfhen Oooh, first one to post about this book...but there‘s no blurb!!! I‘m curious to hear more..... 5y
Lizpixie I hope you come visit some day. You‘ll take home some of that red dirt in your clothes, it never comes out because it has so much pigment. 5y

TrishB @Cinfhen I must have read before Litsy! It‘s a good, solid read and like The Dry you get the full Australia impact- weather, outback etc 5y
TrishB @Lizpixie definitely somewhere I‘d like to go one day ❤️ 5y
artkavanagh I‘m definitely going to read this some day. Not putting it on my to read stack yet, though: I don‘t want it to get too overwhelming. The author is taking part in a public event (interview) in about 10 days‘s time. I‘d like to get to that. 5y
