🚨⚠️ #Bombshell Alert!⚠️🚨
Chapter 26's unofficial new title. All the plots gets twisted, new info and secrets are revealed, and the story really gets going!
"I love dark books and this is all I could ask for. It has ghosts, necromancy, elemental magic, and so much more. It also has a good old-fashioned murder mystery....When I only had a hundred pages left, I noticed that I was stalling. I didn‘t want this book to end"

@megzlynn "I wanted to love this book. It was one of my most anticipated fall reads. Around page 200, I discovered that I didn‘t care about the story."

Truly worth the #PulitzerPrize.
An absolute thrill to read. Mukherjee does an excellent job of taking such a complex and technical subject and bring it to a level that the average reader can understand.
This book is perfect if you're trying to get a better understanding of what cancer is and why we haven't discovered a cure yet.

One of my favorite stories of all time!
Found out that it's a Swedish film thanks to the library app.
Highly recommended the book. I'll keep you updated on the film.
Perhaps the scariest #Halloween reality of all: #cancer.
Thankfully doctors have discovered at least 5 Achilles Heels.
1. Originates as a local disease before spreading.
2. Rapid growth rate (easier to target).
3. Accumulation of mutations in it's DNA required for growth.
4. Dependent on proto-oncogenes & tumor suppressor genes.
5. Dependent on multiple corrupt properties from other areas of the body.

I'm torn on how to rate this book.
I give the content ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.
I give the presentation ⭐⭐.
The subject is important & interesting. However, the material is written in a textbook format which leads to, well, you know zzzzzzz.
Good human psychology and observational review.

Ways to identify leaders:
@megzlynn latest blog post is out.
"I smiled the entire time I read this. The artwork is phenomenal. The story line is simple."
Such an eloquent defense of utilitarianism. So refreshing to read a way of speaking from another time.
This book, while short in length, is long in thought. Mill forces you to put your thinking caps on and focus on his arguments.
If you're not a fan of eloquent arguments then avoid this book.

Your decision tree:
1) Kill or Prepare to Kill
"Once three cues are detected, a decision must be made."

"Once hooked I was in for the long haul. This story is perfect for Halloween."
Enjoyed the alternative perspective to the #military.
Gives you a new appreciation of the factors our military members face that we often don't think about and rarely make an appearance in the press.
There is quite a bit of graphic material that you may want to avoid if you're prone to queasiness.
Don't think of this as a book, more as a military or survival manual.
This book breaks down to observations of human behavior and how to interpret those behaviors.
6 Human Cue Sources:
Kinesics, people‘s conscious & subconscious body language
Biometrics, “uncontrollable and automatic biological responses to stress”
Proxemics, the way we use the space around us & interact w/surrounding people
Geographics, reading patterns of behavior w/in an environment
Iconography, the expression of beliefs & affiliations through symbols
Atmospherics, “the collective attitudes, moods, & behaviors present.”
Oh my word, get on with it. The authors take their sweet time "selling" the reader on their observational methods and why we should read this book while offering example after example of people who do and do not use their method.
Let's get to the point already!!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐* (Five stars with a major condition).
*This is 5 stars for anyone who has been effected by suicide and/or facing temptations to choose self-harm.
This #Nonfiction #mentalhealth book is co-written by the aunt of former Nirvana lead singer Kurt.
It explores the very real darkness that #suicide brings to a family.
This books shines by showing practical ways to find relief and help.
Turn her if you need help or know someone who does! 🙏
This book on reducing anxiety was just okay. IMO, it was not well researched. It was based off the author's experience of what helped him so I can't knock that it worked for him.
I felt like it was only aimed for a small swath of sufferers who are willing to try alternative methods.
I did not feel like this book helped me w/a few exceptions.
I hope that if you read this #Nonfiction #MentalHealth book then it helps you!
