At least one of my 2024 goals has been achieved. ✅️
I set out to read all 13 books of A Series of Unfortunate Events. I moved to audio on book 5 and was rewarded with Tim Curry narration beginning with book 6, The Ersatz Elevator. It proved to be my favorite, with Curry's performance of Esme Squalor and her obsession with trends that are in and things that are out. Overall, the series was a pick, but I didn't love it.⬇️

Finally finished my reread of this series! I've been listening to one each month over the past year.
This conclusion has always been bittersweet. So many questions are left unanswered, yet it's lovely seeing the growth of these siblings and their determination to face an unfair world.

The Netflix adaptation of this series only (NOT the Jim Carrey movie 🤮) I thought it did a great job with the story, characters, and tone of the books, while also adding new layers to the mysteries hinted at throughout the series.
I just finished rereading the books and now I want to watch the series again

I have the entire 13 book collection of A Series of Unfortunate Events and should really read it or get rid of it. If I do a book a month (with 1 & 2 in January for momentum), would anyone else be interested in a buddy read for 2024? I am not a question-y person, so it would just be casual. Just an occasional check-in, comraderie thing.

More mysteries keep piling up as the siblings dive into uncharted waters, with new volatile allies and unseen enemies. The anticipation mounts each book closer to The End!

Thought I posted my #SeriesLove2023 but evidently I didn't. This is an initial rough draft, as it were, and subject to change based on my reading moods, but it's a good starting point for me. Here's to knocking out some of those series on my TBR!
