Hocus Pocus in Focus: The Thinking Fan's Guide to Disney's Halloween Classic | 
This is a dangerous time of year for me. A few weeks ago I went to the grocery store, promising myself it was going to be a quick trip for essentials only, and them within five minutes I had put these (along with a pair of Ursula socks I forgot to put in the picture) in my cart with a straight face and zero shame.
#tbt to my only trip to a Spirit Halloween store this year, since the closest location is now 45 minutes away (or 30, depending on who‘s driving). I didn‘t find all of the “Hocus Pocus” merchandise that I was looking for, but I did manage to get my hands on the Funko pen that I wanted! I was also very happy to find out that they still do the Spirit of Children donation program.
I didn‘t get nearly as many Halloween-ish things read/watched as I had hoped to, but I managed to track down these lovely ladies so I‘m happy!

After finishing a huge work project, I headed back to Spirit Halloween to get a "Hocus Pocus" keychain; the only thing that stopped me during the first visit was that they're blind items, which I hate - I'll gladly pay for the one I want, don't make me guess! I wanted one of the sisters but I was reminded that Billy Butcherson was played by Doug Jones, who shows up in many of Guillermo del Toro's movies. Very eagerly awaiting "The Shape of Water"!
Kids are finally asleep. Sitting down to write a letter to my #LitsyPenPal, drink a Maple Walnut Stout, and watch a virgin light the black flame candle.

My weird obsession with this movie has finally been vindicated 20+ years later, as the Sanderson Sisters are now one of the pictures advertised in the window of the Spirit Halloween store. There are two "Hocus Pocus" sections, one for costumes and the other for merchandise. I may have to make my way back before the 31st. I also need to read this book, which I just found out about. #hocuspocus #sandersonsisters
