I feel very safe when I carry this book around, because at 1,152 pages it could definitely stop a bullet!

So this is my favorite of the books so far and I feel like it will probably be my favorite overall because I love the weird western adventures of Roland and his crew. There is something about the cowboy code (which I first discovered I loved after watching True Grit and The Rifleman) and shootouts that calls to my readers imagination! Anyways, 2 thumbs up 👍🏼👍🏼 and once more I set out for the Dark Tower along the Path of the Beam 🌹

Sitting on the porch reading and enjoying this beautiful autumn day in VA! Fagan is enjoying it too 🐶 It's taken me a while to finish this one but it's because I love the story of Roland, Cuthbert, Alain, Susan and Sheemie so much I just don't want it to end!!

I honestly have no idea why this story works, but it does and I'm so happy I decided to start this series! Wizard and Glass is the best book of the series by far and I'm kind of nervous to read the rest of the series because I'm pretty sure nothing can top this awesome western/flashback/backstory/prequel 😩😩😩 But the good news is they're turning this book into a tv series!!! Fingers crossed they don't screw it up!!

I don't think I've ever been so scared of a train in my entire life...this book is seriously freaking me out! Amazing world building, though! I wasn't sure going in to this series that I was going to like it, but I am super into it!!

MrBook Ooh, looking forward to this series 😎👌🏻! 8y

Ok so yesterday I was complaining about not being able to get into Queen of the Tearling...then this morning I read an article about the Dark Tower movie that's coming out next year and I've decided to put it on hold for now. The Dark Tower series has also been on my TBR list for a while so I'm gonna give it a go! Plus, I cannot resist anything associated with Idris Elba 😍😍😍 what a beautiful man!

TheNextBook Ok so the description in the book of Roland is completely different than Idris. With that being said I loved the books and I am really excited about this movie. Once you have finished the series I will tell you something super exciting about the movies but I dont want to spoil it! This series is amazing. I am re-reading the series in December! 8y
TheNextBook And Idris... That man... That photo... I mean honestly I will probably be at the movies opening weekend. 8y

Queen of the Tearling has been on my TBR list for so long and I finally picked it up last week...the problem is I'm 40 pages in and it hasn't hooked me yet 😩 but I'm not a quitter and have very few books on my DNF LIST. I've just started the 2nd chapter and I've got my fingers crossed that I'll start to get into it, and soon!

CaitlinSiem This seems to be one of those books that people either are really into or aren't. Doesn't seem to be much in between. I hope it gets better for you. I look forward to seeing your thoughts. (I think I own both this book and the next on my kindle, but they are deep on my TBR.) 8y
BookishGal @CaitlinSiem thanks for the insight! It sounds so good and sounds exactly like something I would love, so here's hoping I can get into it! 8y

If you are expecting this to be the next book in the series, you're going to be disappointed. But if you go in knowing that this was written as a stage production and not a novel and take it for what it is, you'll find that you get a good story starring your most beloved characters and some charming new ones! If you loved HP you should keep an open mind and give it a try 👓⚡️

BooksTeasAndBookishThings That is how I felt! 😊 8y

Looking forward to the struggle of my inner narrator stumbling over all of these crazy fantasy name pronunciations! it usually ends with me finding out that the one my brain is finally comfortable with isn't the one that everybody else decided on 😩😩😩

If you've never read a Neil Gaiman book, do yourself a favor and pick one up. He is such an amazing storyteller! I can't even pinpoint one particular thing I like most about his writing, it's just that his stories are so enjoyable to read (made even more enjoyable with a cat to help turn pages)!

MrBook My cat does the same thing, lol. 8y

So in love with this B&N classics edition of American Gods/Anansi Boys!! I didn't want to carry it around with me for fear of messing it up, but because I moved last week I can't find my other copy...what's a girl to do??!?

"...in the darkest moments of history, kindness was the only light you had to find your way to safety,"
In light of all of the tragedy we have experienced lately, this is so very important to remember.
