What an amazing book! LJ has the best characters and really knows how to suck you into a story.
Up next!! Hopefully this one will be just as great as Then She Was Gone!!

This book was not my normal read, but I ended up really enjoying it
Everytime I thought I had it figured out a new twist come into play. I was in suspense until the end.
I signed up for a free trial of Audible for in-between Podcast episode listening, and omg I‘m sucked into this book! I‘ll probably end up zoning out and mowing the lawn for hours while listening to this until my husband comes out and yells at me to get inside. #audiobook
This is the 7th or 8th Lisa Jewell book I‘ve read, and I have loved them all. I like the turn she‘s taken into a more suspenseful / Liane Moriarty-ish style. #howjessreadsin2019
What a fun read!
Lisa Jewell has everyone watching everyone in the “safe” town where Joey and her husband Alfie recently moved to, staying with Joey‘s brother and sister-in-law.
On their street, Mr. Fitzwilliam moves in, and everyone seems so attracted to him, despite his having a wife, Nicola. But there‘s always secrets behind closed doors...
And everyone has a secret in this book. Loved the different perspectives and quite the page-turner!
So my haul from Half Price Books wasn't as good as I hoped it would be. They had a lot of books, but I felt more than a few of the ones I wanted were over priced for the condition of the book. I'm not against paying full price, or half price as the name of the place states but not for books with pages falling out. I did get these two booka though which I am happy about.
Why is it that so far I have read parts of *every* #LMPBC book this round while waiting for car service? Book 1- oil change, Book 2-snow tire removal and now with Book 3- brakes. (Ugh)
The books certainly make the adulting less painful!

I found this a little hard to get in to at the beginning of the book and my mind wandered while I was listening. There were lots of characters introduced right off the bat which overwhelmed my brain. Having said that, I eventually got used to the jumping between narratives and the final twist actually surprised me.
An entertaining read overall! I agree with other reviews that it builds up slowly at the beginning, but there are enough twists and events that keeps it intriguing. Though I ultimately never warmed up to main character, other characters throughout are lovable and interesting!
Lazy Sunday Reading~
About halfway through this book and it‘s been an enjoyable read. Currently not a big fan of the main character, but interested enough to find out more about what happens in their story.

I just did a post for this and it froze and I lost it 😩😩😩 oh well - on to this book. I loved this one. Lisa Jewell is such an awesome author and I haven‘t disliked anything she has written yet. There were so many good twists and I was really surprised by the end. I really enjoyed this and am sending it off to its next destination this week! #lmpbc
Everyone in the posh upscale neighborhood of Melville Heights has a secret and everyone is watching each other. I will say that you find out at the very beginning that someone has been murdered, but you don‘t find out til near the very end who has been killed, why or by whom. I love books about neighborhoods with secrets
First I have to admit that this book took me a while to get into. I listened to it on audio on my drive to and from work and it was near the end of the 2nd disc that I finally got hooked. But then it was so good! I'd sit in my car after I got home to listen for a good stopping point. The narrative reminded me of Girl On The Train. I did guess the killer but it really kept me intrigued until the end.
Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. What an enjoyable book this was. It held my interest from the very beginning and as the characters and plots developed it gripped me. It centres around a neighbourhood street where neighbours are spying on each other, one neighbour ends up murdered and we are wondering why no one seems to be as they appear. An intriguing plot with fascinating characters. #lisajewell
This was my first Lisa Jewell and I was not disappointed! I was kept guessing throughout because of all the twists and turns. None of the characters are all that likable, but they were well developed. Recommend to suspense fans! #lmpbc #groupc #round5
Melville Heights, Bristol, England. Joey Mullen, has an infatuation with headmaster Tom Fitzwilliam. Tom's teenaged son Freddie has witnessed Joey and his father. 20 years earlier, a schoolgirl had obsession with English teacher, Mr. Fitzwilliam. What does the schoolgirl's infatuation have to do with Joey Mullin's? Jewell‘s twisty plot has just the right pace. You will be kept guessing until the last page. Recommended to those who love suspense.
Jewell‘s books are reliable for this genre. I‘ve successfully predicted her last two books (including this one.) Jewell does a good job of getting into her characters heads and I felt for Joey. And for Nicola and Tom‘s son (I can‘t remember his name). Interesting as it unfolds with some twists. If you liked past books of hers, you will like this one.
Two things I love: Lisa Jewell, and Trader Joe‘s daffodils. 😍 I‘m dying to start this one... but I‘m making myself dust and vacuum first. Sigh. Sometimes being the adult is no fun. 😝
This took me longer than usual to read since. I moved into a new place in under a week 😞 so tired...just finished it last night and I loved it!! About halfway, I was able to guess what would happen. I mean, I knew who did it, but I didn't know why. Overall, great writer and I will be looking for more of her books!!!
