This was an exciting read. It kept me guessing.
5-11-22: My 44th finished book of 2022! What a ride! Jess, a barmaid from London, shows up at her brother, Ben‘s, apartment in Paris, to find him missing. The apartment house has a full cast of characters, an alcoholic, a nice guy, a socialite, a young girl who seems to be losing it and the concierge who knows all. As Jess ingratiates herself into their world to learn more about her brother‘s disappearance many scary facts emerge.
I‘ve heard mixed reviews on this one but I‘m determined to make my own opinion on this one. The best time for me to start a new book is on my break. #breaktimereading #readingatwork
More of a pick than not. The structure was ambitious, the characters were ok but the plot and mystery was good. I enjoy Lucy Foley‘s stories and the setting was very creepy here. Jess was ok but the rest were a little unbelievable. I think we maybe would have been more vested if we knew more about brother, Ben!

I wasn't really a fan of any of the characters. After each twist, I felt pretty indifferent. It wasn't a bad book, just not all that captivating. Especially as a thriller. I LOVED the Guest List, but this one just didn't do it for me.
5.3.22
This novel was a page-turner and solid entertainment. I think I liked _The Guest List_ better, and I think it had a less predictable plot, but anything Parisian gets extra points in my book, and there are definitely a few shockers in this one. Check it out.
I enjoyed this one for the most part. It seemed like it took forever to get going. I was surprised by a couple of twists and saw others coming. This is my first by this author and I‘ll read others!

Better even than that were the short hairs I found around the sink where he‘d shaved and hadn‘t managed to wash them all away. I collected several of them on a finger. I swallowed them.
😳🤢🤮 disgusting!!!
This book is wild!! Parts of it remind me of the movie Wedding Crashers!! I know that sounds crazy! 😳😵💫🤪
I am a Foley fan, and her newest didn‘t disappoint! There are many unlikable characters and this did seem a slower burn than some of her other books, but the big twist was one I didn‘t see coming. I would‘ve torn through this much faster (it is a quick read) but this week life really got in the way of my reading.

Here‘s a stack of my recent hardcover reads!
I‘m currently reading The Paris Apartment, it‘s starting off a bit slow and I‘m not feeling the main character at the moment…we‘ll see how it goes 😬😬
So-so, characters were annoying, and the plot was a s-l-o-w burn. I really wanted to love it, but …

Looking for a good thriller? Look no further because “The Paris Apartment” is what you need. Jess who is going through some things decides to move to Paris with her brother Ben. The only problem is where is he? As we go throughout the novel we meet the residents of the apartment and try to figure out their relationship to Ben. Everyone has their secrets and it's up to Jess to figure out what really happened to her brother.
Finally getting to enjoy some front porch reading! I hope everyone is having a great day! 💛🌼🌞
This was a slow burn. I enjoyed the main character the most, but the mystery of all of the folks and the apartment building itself was interesting. A bit of cloak and dagger was a lot of fun, too. It didn't end quite the way I expected either, which was great!
Attempting to read some today after a sick day yesterday 😨 Mindy, can you tell that I love this blanket 💞

The first 2/3 of this book is painstakingly hard to get threw. I didn't like any of the characters so it was hard to get threw. Also I don't mind swearing in books, but the main character said fuck almost every page for the first half of the book, which put me off. The twist at the end, I was not expecting at all. Which is why I gave this 2.5 stars instead of none, but idk if reading the whole book is worth it just for the ending.
I enjoy this author‘s work—-this was a good read. I enjoyed the story but it slightly dragged….slightly. That being said I would recommend the read if you like this author. 3.5/5 stars
Starting this one today 💜🖤
Anyone read it?!
1 The characters
2 Tie up loose ends and be just as engaging as the first book

Much hyped, so I'm looking forward to it! I enjoyed the list book I read by Lucy Foley, so I'm hoping for some of the same qualities.
It is so different from her previous two novels and that's why I loved it! Foley really steps outside of her comfort zone with "The Paris Apartment" and it shows! I was totally invested in each of the characters and how they tie into the disappearance of Ben. Even though I figured out the underlying plot I was totally surprised by what happens to Ben! Yes, this book is top shelf quality stuff. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is the last book I finished in March, but it was a good one. It might be my favorite Lucy Foley mystery so far. Foley is skilled at writing unlikeable rich people, and this translates well to the Paris upper class. The MC Jess was the most likeable of the POV characters she‘s created, and I thought the couple of twists thrown at the reader were actually surprising. My attention wandered at bit in the middle section, but I was pulled back in.
I can't put my finger on why I did not love this book. Maybe it just wasn't the right time. I like this author, it just wasn't a book I loved.
Finished this one just in the nick of time - Hank the Book Sniffer was on his last damn nerve and clearly perturbed by my obvious neglect. The first half rather slogged on for me but the second half really picked up. Over all a pick - if you like Lucy Foley‘s other work you‘ll probably enjoy this one, too.

Story and the way characters were described were similar to author previous books. Her characters are annoyed and you can‘t identify with any of them. It is almost a writing style pattern. However, I enjoyed it in general. I think it will be good for a movie adaptation. 3.75/3.8⭐️ Book read for #LiterallyDeadBookClub (YouTube) and as I expected, she didn‘t like it but there were mix reviews from the hosts🙌 3.8⭐️
I find it heartening when an a book that I love hits the number 1 bestseller in the store (& # 4 on the New York Times Best Seller‘s list) over someone who is super famous and also has a great book! Way to go, Lucy Foley!
I‘m so grateful, I was able to read the ARC, then buy a copy so I could share it. 😀
😳lots of interesting twists and turns, family drama, and Paris…what‘s not to like😉
3.75 stars
It was okay, not spectacular. I did like that it was more diverse than her other books. The final plot twist was a surprise, but some of the others were predictable.
I part read and part listened to this, it wasn‘t as enjoyable as The Guest List I found unfortunately 😓
3.5/5

Jess is on her way to stay with her brother, at his apartment in Paris. She has no idea she's about to step in a web of lies and secrets. Her brother has also disappeared.
We get to read each character point of view and it made it even more interesting. As Jess gets closer to the truth, the other occupants are getting nervous. A page turner from beginning to end.
This was good and fairly mindless, although the completeness recklessness of the main character was a little annoying (and not offset by several other characters calling her reckless at various points). I didn‘t see the main twist coming halfway through, and predicted only some of the (many) twists at the very end. #BOTM
The first book by Foley that I‘ve read and I would go back and read her other books and look forward to her future books. This was suspenseful told from the various tenants points of view. This would make a good thriller movie or mini series. It had a good ending.
Another twisty ride by Lucy Foley. I did not even begin to guess the ending of this one! The narrator was fantastic. TW: in comments as a spoiler. #Libby #audiobook
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lucy Foley is such a reliable mystery writer! This is full of surprising twists, short chapters, and multiple POVs to keep things interesting. I liked her last two a bit better, but still had a great time reading this.
Benjamin what did you do?
Currently reading this very intriguing story. 🕵🏽♀️
Just got back from Charleston SC thought I would have more time to read but after busy days I was too tired 🥱 Better get reading before book is due back at the library! Enjoying it so far… #currentlyreading #botm
This was my first Lucy Foley and I enjoyed it!
I keep saying mysteries and thrillers aren't my thing, but I might need to change my tune 😄
This story had lots of twists and turns and short chapters that helped speed it along.
I have been exposed to so many authors through Book of the Month. This was another great pick.
PS - I love how the book looks next to my tumbler 😁
Excellent thriller! Kept me on the knife‘s edge start to finish. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
