I have already finished my 2023 reading goal! 30/30 books have been completed and it‘s only October. I‘m really proud of myself 🥰
This book was just so much fun! Mixing fantasy with horror, this book swept me into its world. The characters had me laughing out loud. The writing style is superb and filled with hilarious quips during gruesome scenes. I truly enjoyed every second! 5 stars! #scarathlon #creepinitreal #cir
Some readathons for extra points during #scarathlon! I‘ll definitely be participating and would love a buddy to read with me! #creepinitreal #cir
Dr. Chloe Davis…absolutely delulu. I kept laughing that the narration made her unreliable because of “drug addiction” when it was one xanny and a glass of wine. Like my brother in Christ, of COURSE she needs it? She‘s a walking ball of PTSD.
This book is a serial killer thriller with a pretty predictable ending. I enjoyed the writing style. The characters are wack and I hated all the men (nothing new really). Overall, I liked it. 3.25/5!
Here‘s my October Checklist for #scarathlon! I didn‘t do a lot for a checklist last year so I‘m hoping to indulge in some fun activities this year! #creepinitreal #cir

Not a terrible book. Cliche, quick, and more of a cozy horror. This is for when you need a break from real horror and want just a bit of spook in your life. Good for what it is, not good for a real horror. Overall, I liked it! If you‘re lookin for cutesy and a bit odd, this one is for you.
Honestly I went in thinking it wouldn‘t live up to the hype. I‘d say this book deserved it! I immediately went to preorder the second book. I usually hate series so that is a BIG DEAL and you should take it as high praise.
Also, the smut is better than in ACOTAR. No “Male smile” to be had here, thank GOD.
And for my watch list: so many!! I want to get as many of these as possible. I‘ll also be relistening to The Magnus Archives because it is incredible. #scarathlon #scarathlon2023 #creepinitreal

One of the best horror books I‘ve read. The suspense and dread builds throughout the book so wonderfully. It‘s absolutely beautiful prose and has fantastic ideas and responses to grief. READ THIS!
A wonderfully fun fantasy filled with adventure, pirates, and some extremely beautiful and witty writing. Incredible all around. SPRINT to read this one!
If you like graphic, disturbing, dear god help me through these pages horror, this one is for you. Definitely not for the weak and has some very graphic scenes. Please check TWs for this one. It has basically all of them
“She‘d had a left earlobe all her life and suddenly, it was gone. It felt like a friend had died.” I‘m sorry but that is one of the funniest sentences I‘ve ever read.
As a boy, Sean lied about his teacher molesting him and forcing him to be part of satanic rituals. As an adult with a new name, everything must come full circle. This book was hard to read at times and made me feel sick. I had to put it down every few chapters. For a horror, I suppose that is what you want. The ending was predictable, but if you don‘t mind a journey through shame, grief, and guilt it‘s a good one. Check trigger warnings for this!
Wow wow wow wow wow. I‘m not usually a series kinda gal but I GOBBLED this up like I was on death row and it was my last meal. Wonderful. Beautiful. 12/10
Absolutely beautiful writing, characters, plot. No notes 10/10 please read this!
I wanted to like this book so much. I really did. This novel had all of the beginnings to be great. The ending just kinda…well, sucked and I was left pissed that I wasted 600 pages on it. Also, Merritt is completely insufferable and I almost DNFed just because of that.
This book surprised me with just how fun it was. Really easy read and definitely horror comedy. You can tell Audra was written by a man but overall it wasn‘t obnoxious.
I thought this book had all of the threads to go to really cool places. I was left kind of disappointed but I liked the writing style!
This is one I will think about for a long time. A suicidal young woman experiences the multiverse in a reflective novel. She‘s given more opportunities at life, but will she truly live? 5/5 and one of the best I read this year!
I‘ve been trying to reread some YA for my middle school students. Starting out strong with the Lightning Thief! I‘m surprised at how well it held up after so many years. #YA #middleschool
My girl Katee Robert has done it again! In this spicy sequel, we get another taste into Olympus‘ messy politics and sordid love affairs. While not as kinky as the predecessor, Electric Idol had me calling for my fiancé to get his ass in our room. #spicy
CALLING ALL YA NOVEL FANS: I‘m now teaching middle school English and need to decolonize my library. Please comment your favorite books with diverse characters, stories, settings, etc! #YA #youngadult #middleschoolreads

Another bonus game for #scarathon ! Some more points for #teammonstermash
Clearly writing it didn‘t work out long and I stared at the last ones for eons.
Category game! 400 extra points for the total! It keeps cropping all my words though. :/ #teammonstermash #scarathon #scarathon2022
8,642 points for #Teammonstermash this week! Reading on audible and actually tracking word search words helped a lot. 🫡 #scarathon #scarathon2022 #momstermash #twilightyouretrashbutiloveyou
I listened to this on Audible. The narrator was FANTASTIC- one of the best I‘ve heard. The book, however, is a different story. The 1st part was great- the plot & characters kept me going. Super heavy on Catholicism, but had an amazing Rabbi character. The second half felt like it was an excuse to be misogynistic, homophobic, xenophobic, and when they got to NYC SUPER islamophobic. There‘s also a graphic gangr*pe not imperative to the plot. 2.25/5
Read a comfort book that I‘ve loved since middle school. I mean it‘s trashy, not fantastic, but I will read it every.single.time. As you can see, the book is well loved. #teammonstermash #scarathon #scarathon2022
1,197 points for #teammomstermash ! I did a lot of short stories this week. I was also obsessed with What We Do In The Shadows because my bf and I are dressing as Nadja and Lazlo for Halloween! #scarathon #scarhon2022
Short ghost story where a banker is summoned to a murder trial and sees ghosts. Fun take because I always forget Dickens wrote ghost stories. #teammonstermash #scarathon #scarathon2022
I tend to hate reading series but this one always seems to drag me back. I loved listening to all of it on audible with John Pirhalla narrating. This book seems to be setting up the 5th so I will forgive that the threads haven‘t been tied up completely yet. I look forward to reading the next two! #teammonstermash #scareathon #scarathon2022
Words using the letters in “Interview With The Vampire”. Wanted to do it in the 10 minutes before work ended. #teammonstermash #scareathon #scareathon2022
1,365 points for #TeamMonsterMash! I‘m having so much fun doing the #scareathon I got to watch 3 movies, 4 episodes of a horror show, finished 3 books, and have been listening to another book on audible!
Just watched this cool horror movie, Last Night in Soho, while in a hotel room that lost power so I‘m p spooked. #scarathlon #teammonstermash #scarathlon2022
I wanted to like this book so badly. The characters were so annoying I was hoping they‘d all die. There‘s 4th wall breaks that were supposed to be funny or quirky but they were just awkward and weird. Wouldn‘t recommend at all. #TeamMonsterMash #Scarathlon
I couldn‘t put it down, but the ending left me completely unsatisfied. Mental illness, ghosts, or a traumatic past coming back to haunt the entire town? It was delightfully creepy throughout. Pretty predictable plot. I‘d recommend it if you‘re looking for something fun and don‘t want to think much. #TeamMonsterMash #Scarathlon #Scarathlon2022
Ghost eaters is a book I won‘t soon forget. This book delves into the cycle of addiction, and the grief and trauma that brings you there. This unreliable narrator portrays the addiction of both love, abuse, and drugs that make you “see ghosts”. This drug‘s prominence and the narrator‘s fall from a life just beginning begs to question whether it‘s hallucinations, traumatic past, or true ghosts that haunt us all.
