This store is in Pensacola, about hour from where I live, so I haven't shopped there frequently, but I've gone out of my way to go there several times. Not anymore!! I'm so mad and disappointed.

Day 2. Poetry Collection
#PoetryCollection
I have not read this one, but I‘d like to add it to my collection.
My May TBR
It may be slightly ambitious (especially with how crazy things will get with the school year winding down) but I know a few of these should be quick reads so here's hoping 🤞

My dear fellow Littens,
I dare to ask you for your inputs and ideas. We are extending our childrensbook section in the bookshop and I'm working on a list on books we might get in the near future for our young customers.
Now I'd like to ask you which books do your children enjoy the most? What do you think should we have to offer? What do your teens like to read? I also want to have something in stock that would interest boys.
So, hit me!
Be careful what you wish for. Is there a conduit to another dimension? What happens when you unknowingly open a line of communication with an unknown correspondent? Unexpected consequences. This short story is spooky. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What happens when a mother can‘t bear the grief of her loss? She learns the truth about what really happened and it gives her a new purpose. Not a happy purpose, but new understanding of how she should move forward. Are there ghosts involved? Maybe. This is a sad, spine tingling short story. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
An intimate conversation with Ocean.

There is no such place as paradise. An island where there are vacation homes and a strict vacation season. Just follow the rules and ignore what‘s under the surface and you‘ll be OK. This short story is horrifying. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
May‘s picks for #readYourKobo. We‘ll see how many I actually get to this month. 🙄
So many great and fun books this month! And I actually did pretty well keeping up with my NetGalley ARCs! #MonthlyRoundup

It‘s impossible to see the future, isn‘t it? Can a normal conference room transform into a crystal ball? Things like that just don‘t happen. It‘s certainly not a gift to Jennifer. A very eerie short story. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I‘m letting Lil Bit have my chair today! Now I know why my flowers aren‘t coming up!! Miss Priss 🐾 🌺 and Tux looking all handsome!!

Judgement comes in strange forms. A man who is only thinking of doing something morally questionable, but is discovered, and whose life starts to spiral downwards. His judge, jury, and potential executioner is something wholly unexpected. A disturbing short story. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Finally starting #ShelfSweeper. This is my ever growing TBR shelf. And we won‘t talk about what‘s on my kindle and kobo. Now… where to start….

#RantTime
With the proposed elimination of library, museum, humanities programs, and PBS funding, among other entities, it is imperative that voices are raised against these measures. My lifeblood is all about humanities—I‘m a librarian, after all—and it is terrifying that my skills are considered to be unimportant to the government. I‘d rant more, but I‘ll save that for another day.

Translates as: The White Spot. An Instructin to antiracist thinking.
I got angry, I got sad and I felt shame. But I've also learned a lot about racism in Germany (Switzerland isn't any different when it comes to that), where it comes from and also, what we can do about it. Sadly, many things the author warns about, have already come true. That's why it's so important to read those books. Even if it's uncomfortable.

From Our Beautiful Boys by Sameer Pandya:
Except for the Native Caves - tucked high in the hills above town - the city of Chilesworth presents nothing extraordinary.
From Skin & Bones by Paul Doiron:
The wind moved across the surface of the lake like breath upon a mirror.

or if you are really feeling creative, try making a new cover of your own.
Hello Littens. It's #StartASpark day. I thought I would post about something creative this time. I watched a video on Youtube the other day (will post about that too), where a couple of artists did a challenge of redesigning book covers. I really liked that idea. And it gave me a thought. Can we make coloring pages of books that we read? The answer is yes.
If you do audiobooks and love to be artsy, why don't you try this out.
