My favorite book for the last of April was Rival by Penelope Douglas. My favorite for the month is Wild Love but Eleanor and Park was a close second.

I am finally feeling up to getting back to the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. The next book to read in the series is Lover Mine. Which I am going to read in May. Is anyone interested in staying on the tag list? Let me know if you would like to be added.

1️⃣ I remember my Mom would boil water and add cinnamon sticks when the house got dry in the winter. I especially loved it around the holidays. Now, cinnamon always makes me think of Christmas and family visits.
2️⃣ I remember sitting in my Dad's lap and poking him when he nodded off while reading to me. It is one of my first memories.

Here is my tentative list for the #ShelfSweeper readathon in May. In addition, there will be my #BookSpin and #DoubleSpin to read also. It will be a busy reading month. Hopefully there will be some stellar books.

This is my #BOTM choice for May. I didn't realize until I checked out that this book is a limited edition. Wahoo!!
❤️📕
I love Douglas's writing style and how she develops the characters. This book certainly fits in that description of great plot and characters. My only miff with this one is the ending dragged. There was a point about 7/8 thru that would have made a better ending. Still enjoyed despite this. 4🌟 #Read2025 @DieAReader
The votes are in and the June selection for #LitsySciFiBookClub #LSFBC is The Stardust Grail by Yume Kitasei. The US price on Amzon is $14.99. My library doesn't have a digital or audio copy. I hope they have the physical book. I haven't checked other sites for the book. Hopefully, it will be less other places.

Here are a few questions to start our discussion of April's selection Rabbits by Terry Mills. Everyone is welcome to comment.
My thoughts:
1. I understand most. Some worked really well others not so much.
2. Yes, very disorganized. To the point it distracted from the story.
3. Yes and No. While I got why the book ended as it did, I think it needed to be more fleshed out, but I thought that about the characters too.

I read this for the #LitsySciFiBookClub
Some of the story felt like a cross between Ready Player One and Tron with lots of techy details, political intrigue and other things. However, I found that it jumped around so much it made it hard to keep the plot straight and there was too much stuff going on. 2.5 - 3 🌟 #Read2025 @DieAReader

It was a long Monday. I got a lot accomplished, so that made me feel good. I had a mostly pain-free day, which is always a good thing. Just enjoying some down time.
This is the second book in the Mayhem series and I was expecting another great story since I enjoyed the first one. Unfortunately, this one fell flat for me. Both of the MCs acted immature for their ages and they annoyed me. Not sure if I will continue this series. 2.5 - 3🌟

📕 Rabbits by Terry Miles for the #LitsySciFiBookClub #LSFBC
📕 Riot by Jamie Shaw was a mood pick for me.

It was a hard decision because several books could easily have taken the top spot. However, in the end, I choose Wild Love by Elsie Silver because I kept thinking about the characters even after I finished reading.
Another great Pratchett book! This book introduces Vimes. Loved that he so stubborn. It suited his character. Anyway, I thought the dialog in the book was outstanding. Enjoyed this one immensely. 4.5🌟

Here is today's book haul. I went over budget. The final total was $189.35. In my defense, I bought some Christmas gifts. So everything was not just for me. I had a good time. Hubby even got a car coffee table book. That was his reward for being the official bag carrier.
I wanted to buy more. They had a whole section devoted to the classics. I didn't even got through the YA section. The bag was full and I kept getting "the look" from hubby.
Got my extra large shopping bag. Headed to buy some books!
Thought I would post this for any Littens that live within driving distance. It would be worth a day trip to check out the sale. It's about 45 minutes from my house. I plan to spend a couple hours browsing and eat lunch out. I have a budget of $150. Hope I can stick to it. 🤞💸📚
BTW, they carry all kinds of books. Even games for kids.

I slept in till 7:30. We had thunderstorms last night that kept me and the dogs awake, so the extra sleep was needed. Just enjoying a cup of coffee before I get in the shower. I'm heading to the Book Warehouse Outlet in Easley. They are having a sale. 70% off books! Anyone else going? I'll show you what I buy. 💜📚💸💸💸💸💸

I normally zip through Douglas's books. In this one, I reached a point where I guessed what was going to happen and I couldn't finish. Therefore, I put the book down and picked it up again a couple of days ago. No surprises. Just as expected. The plot was good just predictable. 3.5🌟 #Read2025 @DieAReader At just over 500 pages this is one for #ChunksterChallenge2025 @Amiable #AllergicToChunksters @julieclair
I so need a guy like the MMC, Ford. Just don't tell hubby. 🤫😉😅 I loved the characters and the snarky banter between them. The plot was good too if a bit slow in places. Already looking forward to book two in the series. 4🌟 #SeriesLove2025 @Andrew65 #Read2025 @DieAReader

Lovely story about teenage love. Great plot with characters to die for. Pacing was a touch slow but the story was so good I easily overlooked it. 4🌟

1. I had two dogs growing up. Both my dad brought home for me. The first was a shaggy mixed breed that the previous owner moved and couldn't keep. I had him from around 4 years till he passed when I was 10. Then a shepherd mix , another rehome, that lived until my sophomore year in college. As an adult 7 dogs, 2 guinea pigs, and 1 cat. Also, had a pony when I was young, and 5 horses throughout my life.
