Happy Christmas Eve Eve to all!

When Sloane's husband surprises her with a weekend away with her wild best friend Naomi, she has reason to question his motives; he has a history of cheating and she has a history of letting it slide, part of her general life strategy of risk-averse passivity. A vampire encounter changes everything, but can it change Sloane's overthinking and self-loathing? While this vampire tale has some spicy moments, it's really about friendship, ride or die.

I thought this was for sure going to be a 5 star read for me. I was invested. I related so much to Sloane, too. I felt that there was so much left unsaid by the end of the book. I also think there are times when leaving an ending ambiguous adds value, but sometimes I would really rather an author just make a choice.
Got a good chunk of time logged for Day 1 of #37by37. Did not plan on a red covers theme but here we are.

There was so much here, and so much potential. But there was so much left on the table. The ending was weak; some of Sloane‘s development is left undone; and she needs some resolution with Naomi. Still, the story is interesting enough that I wish we‘d gotten more.

#WDNCW @dabbe I do not care that I had to wear my glasses askew for 2 days until I went to get them repaired as I took them off my face to see my phone while outside and they ended up on the ground. The arm was off like by a mile. So crooked on my face, I went to do my market today. I don't care that I might have looked funny today. Sigh! It's all good now. 👍

Web photo because cats never cooperate with the camera. 😹😹😹
