It‘s a lazy Saturday, and my friends left this morning for their vacation.
On the agenda: set up my laptop, try to befriend the cats, and READ. After all, did bring a lot of reading material!
But first breakfast! When in New Jersey, you have to go to a diner at least once, right?

So, the big news is we are moving. Not far, but it‘s still a chore. It‘s a little bigger place, but it‘s also a little further from the beach. 🏖️ 😞 Not far, but I‘ve been weird about distance since moving to such a “small town” after living in metro/suburban sprawl for the previous 35 years. I hope we are happy in the new place. It has a garage and a washer and dryer so that‘s nice. 😊
After laundry, we went to the beach and built a sand compound. It was mostly a nice day. The beaches in our city are not popular with the rest of SoCal. They like LA & OC. There aren‘t a big crowds here. Of course, that‘s probably because of parking. It doesn‘t exist here. In fact, I got a notice on my car that I was parked illegally. 😬

Finished two books this past week and am off to spending a good chunk of my day in Vancouver (depending on the weather, I will probably seek out some sun and a beach), as I have a book club meeting at a friends place in Vancouver. #chatterday #chatterday2025

Today is PrideFest in the city I work in. I haven‘t been to theirs before so we‘re going to check it out.

#chatterday2025 On a bit of a mini break at my uncle and aunt‘s house. Feeling a lot less stress. Managed to finally finish Demon Copperhead this past week; could have been a 100 pages shorter, imo.
First vacation book finished. Like most Scalzi books and stories I‘ve read, I loved it. Review to come.

My day of reading in our Airbnb cabin has begun. Hoping to finish this one then I‘ll go on the balcony and read another book then listen to my audiobook and craft. Hope I can get all these plans accomplished today. The excitement!!

Today we are at the laundromat in the morning, then I will be working on getting some plants repotted; groceries; reading. I think that‘s all.

I was up at 6am, drank my cup of joe on the porch while listening to the birds! I made my favorite company's coffee, Henry's house of coffee from Seattle. It was Hrags blend. A smooth, medium dark. Excellent! Off to Sunday school, then I'll be picking more strawberries today, hope to get another batch of jam made!
