This was the first month in a long time that I exceeded my reading goals and while I liked many of them the tagged book was by far my favorite!! #favoritenovemberread #gratefulreads @OriginalCyn620 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
A giant love letter to Milwaukee and I loved every page!!! Beautifully written with well developed character. A ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for sure!!
A sweet, clean romance and a charmingly wonderful story about Milwaukee and the food scene that truly makes me want to go back again. A perfect summer read.
Light and fluffy and just what the doctor ordered. Romance is no longer my go to genre but every once in a while you need some brain candy. The two main characters were charming and the supporting cast was absolutely adorable. Otto and Gertrude came very close to stealing the show in my opinion.
My only complaint was the narrators voice when doing Al - the male main character. A little too high pitched. Otherwise a solid pick in my eyes.
A predictable romance done well is always a delight and that is what you get with this book. Two charming main characters with a lovable supporting cast and lots of yummy food descriptions ❤️ I‘m looking forward to reading more from this author.
On to the next!
This was a fun, light read, nothing exciting or memorable. Amy Reichert‘s A Simplicity of Cider definitely showed her growth as a writer when compared to this one. The true star of this book is Milwaukee, Reichert‘s love for the city shines through.

Breezed through half of this book yesterday, hopefully I‘ll finish the rest today! No fancy breakfasts here this week, I have to make do with easy and convenient. Anyone else eat these? They‘re pretty good!
Finding it a bit ironic that the food item I pick for this #booked2019 prompt is the one food I am allergic to. At least it doesn‘t make me crave the cake! 😂😂

#currentread is something light and fluffy!
Day 5 of recovery is not off to a good start. I would not be surprised if I go back to bed soon after I finish my morning tea. (which I‘m hoping will help get my digestive system back on track). #booksandtea
Thankful for no visitors today! A close friend popped by yesterday with a bunch of homemade healthy lunches. I‘m so grateful for her help, and she brought exactly what I needed! 💛💛 #endowarrior
#ManicMonday on Tuesday! 😂 🍰
1️⃣ Tagged Book, which I own but have not read yet.
2️⃣ Marie Antoinette, with Kirsten Dunst
3️⃣ Any song by the alt band CAKE, which I loved in the 90s!
This was the first book I‘ve read by this author. I enjoy books that center around food so much. I have another in my to reads called The Simplicity if Cider as well. This book has a unique story...got a little slow in the middle...but finished strong. A rather predictable ending, but had a few charming twists as well. A light read. Good for vacationing.
Just started but already liking it so far ❤.
Also now craving cake 🍰🍰🍰
So since I am officially down 20lbs I will read about cake instead of eating it! 😊
Travel Ad for Milwaukee: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (I totally want to visit now)
Food Porn: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (🤤)
Romance: ⭐️⭐️
Writing: ⭐️⭐️
Sexiness: Negative ⭐️
All in all, this was a fun audiobook to listen to while I was cooking, but nothing I‘d recommend. Although now I do want to make a coconut cake...
This is predictable love story. You see it coming from almost the beginning. BUT!! The writing is delicious and so is the food and the tour of Milwaukee. I look forward to more from this author. #romantsy #readwomen
Maybe it‘s the fact that I‘ve cut out carbs and sugar and I‘m really craving something sweet, but this is my next read.
Edit - This was a cute, quick read. I got major You‘ve Got Mail vibes! Likable characters, a fun plot, just an easy, breezy romcom.
I just found out this is set in Milwaukee... I feel I need to move it up on my TBR!! #setinmystate #riotgrams
I liked this one. It wasn‘t “I can‘t stop reading” good but definitely an enjoyable ride. She definitely made Milwaukee at least somewhat appealing lol
When one of your most favorite insults makes it into a book. Twat-waffle 😂😂😂 and I use asshat a lot too lol
I started this last night and while probably totally predictable, so far I‘m enjoying it quite a bit.
I need something light after finishing State of Wonder last night. Starting this #arc I won from #goodreads
Last one!(I told you I received a bunch of mail!) @MommyOfTwo and @Shadowfat Thank you for the tagged book! I'm looking forward to reading it.☺ @Avanders Thank you so much for everything!❤ The coffee smells amazing. I met Kylie Logan at a book festival last month, so it's cool to have more of her books. Discworld socks! I love it all!🤗

I loved this book! Great story that takes place in my state.(I don‘t find many of those) it‘s a fast read and the cake in this book sounds amazing. The recipe is included so I will have to try it one of these days.
Don't read this book with an empty stomach. It will make you hungry! Otherwise I liked it, I thought the characters were funny 😁
1. A quote I was going to post here anyway.

Lou is closing in on running a successful restaurant, but an upset in her personal life and a bad review sends her business sliding. While she struggles to keep her restaurant open, she finds distraction introducing a new acquaintance to the wonders if her native city, bit he may be the cause and not the cure for her troubles. Includes luscious sounding food descriptions & great travel tips for Milwaukee, "Coincidence" is worth adding to you TBR.
A cute romance between a chef and a food critic, full of delicious descriptions of food. 😋

Loved this book from the beginning. Definitely recommend this book.
Such a good book! Lou is a chef and owner of a small restaurant. Al is a food reviewer that uses a pseudonym. Al reviews Lou's restaurant on the worst day. They become friends not knowing this. What will happen when they find out???
Worth a read!
I'm in the market for something soft and sweet... has anyone read this one?
The main characters are foodies so prepare to drool as they eat their way through Milwaukee. This book will also make you want to pack your bags and take a quick trip out there. Cute, easy read.
Some #icecreamandcake for #GypsyKatsBirthdayWeek. (Coconut cake is my cat Nicky's favorite. 😹).
For #GypsyKatsBirthdayWeek here is #IceCreamandCake. I haven't read much of this one, but I do intend to read it soon. #books #thecoincidenceofcoconutcake
So at the library where I work, we often put books on hold for each other. My coworker friend picked this one out for me. Not sure what it's about but it looks good! 🎂🍰
Finally got to combine two of my favorite things- work and reading! Check out this quarter's SOVA Living Magazine for recs from yours truly!
Belated bday presents part 1 - these are from one of my BFFs and her Mom. Lots of great stuff here, I'm excited to read them all!
This one is on my TBR - not only have I heard great things about the book I have heard great things about the coconut cake recipe. #booksaboutfood #readingwomenmonth
A million choices, give our take, and I can't decide what I want to read. Maybe this?
"Delight is indeed born in the heart. It sometimes also depends on its surroundings."
"That if I got a second chance, I needed to give one, too"
Lou cut a piece of cake and set it on the plate.
•Predictable at times, this book warmed my heart, inspired my palate, teared me up, and left a smile on my face. I'm so glad she included the coconut cake recipe at the end.

I chose this book because I wanted something light and quick, because I liked the cover, AND because it's set in Milwaukee where we have friends we visit often. It did the job of being light and quick and the Milwaukee setting did not disappoint but the story and writing were really cheesy and not great. I would liken it to a Lifetime Movie. And yet sometimes a Lifetime movie is just what you need!
I'm really liking this one so far! Of course, I *had* to have coconut cake while reading it. It feels mandatory. 😄
A great light foodie read with a sweet love story. Set in Milwaukee, the narrator takes us on a tour of the city and a look at Wisconsin culture. Being from the area, I particularly loved this!
I enjoyed the light heartedness so much from this book. Elizabeth (Lou to her friends) is a chef who has just opened her first restaurant - Louella's and Al the big bad food critic. This book is a fabulous story and you should read it for no other reason but to meet Lou and Al! You won't be sorry.
