Get a Life, Chloe Brown
Get a Life, Chloe Brown: A Novel | Talia Hibbert
Talia Hibbert, one of contemporary romances brightest new stars, delivers a witty, hilarious romantic comedy about a woman whos tired of being boring and recruits her mysterious, sexy neighbor to help her get a lifeperfect for fans of Sally Thorne, Jasmine Guillory, and Helen Hoang. Chloe Brown is a chronically ill computer geek with a goal, a plan, and a list. After almostbut not quitedying, shes determined to spice up her life and finally fit in with her glamorous family. Her Get a Life list has six directives, and shes already completed the first: finally moving out of her familys mansion. The next items? Enjoy a drunken night out. Ride a motorcycle. Go camping. Have meaningless but thoroughly enjoyable sex. Travel the world with nothing but hand luggage. And... do something bad. But its not easy being bad, even when youve written step-by-step guidelines on how to do it correctly. What Chloe needs is a teacher, and she knows just the man for the job. Redford Red Morgan is a handyman with tattoos, a motorcycle, and more sex appeal than ten-thousand Hollywood heartthrobs. Hes also an artist who paints at night and hides his work in the light of day, which Chloe knows because she spies on him occasionally. Just the teeniest, tiniest bit. But when she enlists Red in her mission to rebel, she learns things about him that no spy session could teach her. Like why he clearly resents Chloes wealthy background. And why he never shows his art to anyone. And what really lies beneath his rough exterior

I didn‘t read this series in the correct order. This was the first and my last. There are only 3 Brown sisters so the series is done. I really love them and their love matches. They have real life problems, living their lives and finding love. It‘s delightful, incredibly steamy at times but you‘re just so happy for the characters. I really enjoyed this series and am a little sad there isn‘t another book to read. So glad I stumble upon this series.

I‘ll admit the tagged book was not my jam. Not romancy enough, though it may just not have been the right time to read it.

3⭐️ Cute story but not anything great. Listened to the audiobook and wasn‘t feeling the narrator‘s voice so had a hard time staying focused. Thought the fibromyalgia storyline was handled well.

Photo is of sticker from red bubble.com

RedxoHearts I will have to recheck this one out. It's refreshing when they actually do a good job handling the topic of Fibro or other chronic illness. 2mo

I‘d heard so much about this series but was slightly disappointed. Chloe is chronically ill but makes a list of things to do to help her ‘Get a life‘. Introducing Red-the opposite of Chloe who becomes the man to help her tick off her list.
A cute, sweet story which was interesting to see how Red was attentive/tender to Chloe‘s condition. A predictable ending but an enjoyable journey along the way.

This was very cute and heartwarming. I loved the way chronic illness is honestly depicted, as well as the trauma from previous abusive relationships. The story felt very real and yet the characters were so loving. They made mistakes but figured out how to work through it. I am definitely looking forward to reading the rest of the Brown sisters' stories.

I really enjoyed this book. Seeing Chloe and Red dance around each other at the beginning, and then hit it off hard and then fall apart and come back.
I as a bit nervous when in the beginning there was a warning about abusive relations, but it was just in Red's past.
I was glad to see that Chloe was able to make her “bucket“ list, and as life changed she was able to adapt and chance. I can't wait to read book #2.

This is a fun book to get lost in if you don't want to think too hard and don't get mad at colorful love metaphors. It's very over the top, somewhat predictable and very descriptive. I love that the main character has a chronic pain condition that we see her struggle and live with. For anyone who has struggled with chronic pain, the representation matters. If you're looking for an easy romance read, I'd recommend this.

tokorowilliamwallace My previous roommate struggled with chronic pain and could never really get any medical answers or quality help for it, no matter how many things, programs, and different prescriptions he tried. He constantly, monthly had issues of communication and cooperation between the doctors, insurance, and pharmacies; and it was even very evident to me that the medical system was failing him and not really being very helpful. So maybe I should pick it up. 1mo

A sweet, romantic story of finding love. Chloe Brown suffers from fibromyalgia. She decides to make a list of things she wants to do to help her feel brave and strong. Along comes Red, the superintendent/artist to the rescue! I chuckled throughout my read, and that made me happy. #blameitonlitsy

I liked this steamy romance (don't let the cutesy cover fool you) because both of the leading characters were realistically, endearingly messed up. It was original because Chloe's chronic pain was portrayed so well that I could relate. The charactes seemed like real people and I liked Red.

I waited to read this book because I knew I‘d love it. And I was so right! Talia Hibbert has the best characters, they are so real, the situations, emotions, and reactions. This book was fantastic.

Chloe has a list, goals to break her out of the path she‘s been following due to heartbreak and the chronic pain of her fibromyalgia. She moves into her own flat and manages to “accidentally” spy on her shirtless painting neighbor.

Lauren_reading Red is getting over his own painful past and trying to get back to his painting career when he meets Chloe. She‘s snarky, but he grows to like her. I loved how the relationship between them evolved from an active dislike to friendship and then love. 7mo

3.5 🌟 full of fluff and cuteness. This is Hibbert's 2nd book I've read and I love Chloe and her uncommon traits here. She's black, she's curvy, she suffers chronic pain and yet she thrived to change her boring life with a list of activities that test her boundaries for pain. Love the positive vibes in this book, and I absolutely adore Red!! Red kinda reminds me of my husband though 😍

This book was so cute and sweet. I enjoyed the banter between Chloe and Red. I also enjoyed seeing how caring and attentive Red was to her chronic condition. Everyone needs a Red in their lives.

I couldn't stop grinning like a fool the entire time. Also, I found it adorable and hilarious that the “Something Bad” on Chloe‘s list was just staring at Red outside the window 😂🤦🏽‍♀️

At first I was not sure exactly how I felt about this book. But then...The intelligent, snappy, repartee between Chloe & Red, polar opposites, created a liveliness to this often hilarious,at times, touching, romantic comedy. As I was reading, the loving, supportive, pushy,”tell it like it is”relationship among the sisters reminded me of me with my own sisters.Portrayal of Chloe‘s daily life with fibromyalgia & chronic pain is remarkably (con)

kspenmoll Accurate (as one who has lived with chronic pain since my 30s can attest to).Her grit, inner strength, sense of isolation, of “ otherness” are clear, along with her flaws... inevitable self absorption. Deciding her life is boring & in need of an overhaul, she creates a list of 7 things enable her “to get a life.” Issues of disability, interracial couples, racism, emotional abuse are tackled sensitively. (edited) 9mo
britt_brooke I liked this one, but I enjoyed books 2 and 3 even more. The sisters are so snarky. I love them! 9mo

I thought this book was going to that place where I can‘t see the story for the steam, but it didn‘t take long for me to fall in love with Chloe. I also thought the author did an excellent job demonstrating how important it is to recognize the scars from previous relationships so triggers don‘t destroy current relationships.
