A little weekend book humor…🤪😂
I already made a little adjustment and moved the bobble heads up, because I kept knocking things over when I walked by the lower shelf. While it‘s true that I‘m not very graceful, it‘s also true that the walking space between bed and bookcase isn‘t very wide.
Until I can find a better home for my beading supplies, I don‘t expect to do another reorganization for a while. Famous last words!
The tour continues! These are two of my favorite shelves. They‘re mostly books I‘ve read in the respective formats, with a few TBR mixed in with them. The artwork on the top shelf is a hand-drawn farewell card from one of my coworkers when I retired, and on the bottom shelf it‘s Van Gogh‘s Almond Blossom. #shelfie
The Yankees are driving me crazy, so it‘s a good time to continue the tour through my library.
Thomas Jefferson‘s head fell off, so I relocated the bobble heads from the bottom shelf to the safer top shelf and let his alma mater represent. Behind them are mostly read books with a few TBR, and old planners/journals.
Second shelf holds some small books, my husband‘s anniversary card that I couldn‘t find last year, and travel books.
Thank you to those who gave advice on whether the cardboard backing makes a difference on cube shelving! I‘m giving it a go without. I moved mostly read books to the shelf yesterday. Don‘t ask how many unread books are still stacked elsewhere 😬 #shelfie
For those of you who don‘t follow my bookstagram, I‘m looking for bookshelf advice! Can I get away with no cardboard backing? It‘s a 12 cube shelf.
Long story short, I redid my bookshelves AGAIN after just doing a little tweak upon returning from my trip to Gladstone‘s Library.
This bookcase used to hold a set of Encyclopedia Brittanica! This contraption on top was for the annual “supplements.” There‘s also a slot in the back for the atlas.
There‘s nothing special about these particular books other than they‘re more or less the same height. All are TBR. #shelfie
The “after” picture. Notice the Do Not Disturb | I‘m Reading door tag on the left of the top. Reorganizing the bookcase also allows me to store BuJo supplies together on the bottom shelf.
From last week #WondrousWednesday
📚A small picture of my bookshelf, I need to reorganize my books, is a secret shhh 🤫 😉That figure was from @Chrissyreadit
📚I think the most important book I have read this year (my favorite at this time) is The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox, and I haven‘t post it yet but also Hamnet.
📚I haven‘t DNF a book yet but I found one book so boring. I haven‘t post my comment yet.
Thank you for the tag @Eggs 🥰
So I put together my Billy bookcase and I knew it was going to be bigger than my last shelf but this thing is almost intimidating in my small room. 😂 may move it to the spare room with my other shelves and keep the smaller one in my room.
It was a miracle for me to reorganised my bookhelfs. There are still a few books that I don't know were to put them. #bookwormproblems 😂😂

Book goal -need to clean up my shelves -redo my book closet … because school is LESS THAN A MONTH AWAY…. Then I can read 😂🤦🏻♀️ #awesomeaugust read and cleanathon
Built my new bookshelf today. Because my little one with all my DVD‘s on was overflowing with the books. I haven‘t got many books compared to most people but I only started reading this year. The top shelf is read and the middle is too read. There are 3 more compartments above it for more books! Also put my records on there in the come together box 📦

One of the fun things I did today was dust all my bookcases and books! Normally I do regular bookshelf dusting twice a month but today I actually took each book off each shelf to get a super in depth dusting! It probably sounds weird, but IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! 😍📚💕
I also took the oppurtunity to count my books as well, and apparently I have 2680 total! 😲 WOW!
Finally getting to unpack my books!! Wish me luck because I am attempting to rainbow the sides. I thought I would try and keep my series ones together in the middle. We shall see. 😅📚
My sister and her wife had someone build them a nice big bookshelf, so I inherited this one! Hmmm my little entrance way still doesn't look like much but I'm sure it will be warmer once the shelves are filled with books. I also got living room curtains today, so a good day for my little home.
Did anyone organize his/her bookshelf like this??? I would love to see original pictures!!!
I found this picture online (do not remember the source) a while ago and I am definitely planning on organizing my bookshelves like this next year.
My books were starting to overflow from my bookshelf. We had a sort of portable linen closet in the garage. My husband took the doors and hinges off, spruced it up a bit, and voila! A "new" shelf for my books. And now I have an excuse to get more ?
Always a topic for great debate! 🤣
The bottom shelves aren‘t ready for prime time, but top ones are done...for now. #shelfie
Apart from putting on handles my work/TBR bookshelf is finally finished. This was a dark brown unit from my grandmother in laws house. She sadly died from Covid in March. My mother in law was really pleased someone in the family wanted to keep it. Lots of elbow grease and time but I‘m very happy with it
My 2020 reading wrap up... My Goodreads wasn't quite accurate so I made my own list. I aim to read more non fiction & classics in addition to making a dent in my home library TBR.
Happy Reading in 2021 📚📚📚
#ForeverNovember Day 19: #Today, husband surprised me with this custom-made hanging bookshelf and a customized boxed shelf on the side in my workspace at home. He is not just a master chef but carpenter extraordinaire as well. #HusbandsOfLitsy
We bought a new bookshelf for the bedroom! 😀
Husband: Should take you a couple of months to fill!
Me: *five minutes later* Ta- Dah!!! 😁
Husband: Where‘d all those books come from?
Me: Under the bed, the shoe cupboard, various drawers, some from secondhand shops, eBay, this really is rather a deep question! 🤔
Stole two shelves from my DVD rack for some books I have no space for.
I‘d read more of them if I stopped farting around on the Internet looking for more recommendations and watching booktube 😬
I finally got around to looking over the books I read during the first 6 months of the year, and it was interesting to see the breakdown. One of my bookish resolutions was to read more non-white authors, and I‘d say I‘m doing pretty well. The 5 POC authors are female, and the Black authors are a mixture of male and female, so I‘m still reading a whole lot of white female authors. If you decide to do this, too, use the hashtag #audityourshelves
For this weeks #summerfun #bookshelfie challenge I didn‘t have a lot of options, still waiting for my husband to build more shelving in our new house! But I organised the one bookshelf I have got. Admittedly it‘s not in alphabetical order or anything but I grouped by series/author. It did make me realise how many of my books from series my bestie still has, lots missing!
For those interested, here is a picture of the shelf I have been working through with my daily book posts. They go in roughly alphabetical order, but sometimes the size or shape of the shelf dictates what goes there instead, so it ends up being a slightly eclectic system!!
This is my project for the weekend. My shelves are overflowing in my small apartment. I moved the bookcase from my hallway into the bedroom (I now have no more space for more bookshelves there) and will assemble this one for the hallway. It's longer than the one I had there, so more room for books!
