2 people are sent back in time to get lost Jane Austen novels & find out what disease killed her. As they get to know her/befriend her, they struggle to leave the past as is & let her die. The Jane Austen aspects were so good, imagining her/her family/life made me love her all over again. The developing relationship between the 2 MC‘s was not for me. so interesting to think about what if we got more books from her, what would you give up for them?
This book was so good! The writing was excellent. It made me want to read more of austen' books and her biography! The time travel aspect adds a twist that makes it even more enjoyable!
“What kind of maniac travels in time?”

At first, I thought this book was only okay, but since I‘ve finished it, I can‘t stop thinking about it. Two people travel back in time on a mission to retrieve Jane Austen‘s letters and the manuscript of The Watsons. But what happens when they actually meet her? What are the consequences?
I wanted this one to be better than it turned out to be... Not bad but not a top read for me either.
@sprainedbrain Jenni, was this title mentioned in the growing list of Austen-adjacent books? 😊😊 Apparently it's been on my TBR ;p

This was so not what I expected in the best way possible. I have loved Jane Austen since I read Emma for a high school book report. This book gave me all of that and much more. The twist and turns were spellbounding. The connection drawn to Jane within the book was one that can only be dreamt. If you are an Austen fan, please read this. You will fall in love with her all over again.
I enjoyed everything about this! It was so interesting to imagine the world of Jane Austen through the eyes of future time travellers. The author imagined Jane and her family members so vividly. I wax definitely was immersed in the author's world.
I picked this up as a part of #LitsyAuthor for #ReadingwithMrBook. The plot concerns Rachel and Liam traveling back to 1815 from a dystopian future, to retrieve the manuscript of Jane Austen‘s unfinished novel, The Watsons and her letters to her sister. Having elements of both historical fiction and science fiction, this novel is a must-read for fans of Austen. I am glad that I read this. #LitsyAtoZ letter J
Two time travelers from a future where Jane Austen is revered, journey back to imbed themselves in her life to try and discover the original manuscript for The Watsons. With only several months before Austen's death, the clock is ticking, but with each passing day in her world our travelers alter it. The question then becomes what have they done to their own future by seeking to uncover the past. Good blend of sci-fi and historical fiction.
I didn‘t enjoy this as much as I hoped. I loved the premise—two researchers go back in time to befriend Jane Austen & recover a lost Austen manuscript. There was a wonderful attention to the details of/preparation for time travel, but overall it just felt too serious. I would have preferred a lighter tone—more Austen-ish, to be honest. I‘m not sure if I had too-high expectations, or if I just prefer my time travel lighter & perhaps less realistic!
Trying to decide on an audiobook to start tomorrow... too many good choices!
One of the better Austen-related novels I‘ve read so far. If you like historical fiction, wish you could have met the amazing Jane, and don‘t mind a little time travel, this could be the book for you.
My full review, with only two penis references, is on my blog. 😂

My August #tbr is loaded with SO MANY NetGalleys for the #reviewathon, with several audiobooks thrown in for when I can‘t sit and kindle. Plus, three books for my various book clubs, and whatever else strikes my fancy. 😃
I do have the tagged Austenesque book planned, too!

Traveling for work gave me the chance to work on my Litsy TBR list. Rachel & Liam go back to Regency England to try to recover letters & a complete copy of The Watsons written by Jane Austen. I should‘ve read the blurb more because I was caught off guard by the time travel & thought the Watsons were a previous team that had gone missing. The first 2/3 of the book was kind of slow, last 1/3 was good, ending meh. Maybe I‘m not an audio book person.
A story about travelling back in time to retrieve a lost Jane Austen manuscript. What‘s not to love! The love story element didn‘t work for me but on the whole it was a fun, little easy read. Great for any Austen fans! 👍🏻 3.5 stars!
Doing some #audiocleaning to the tagged book and caught Tilney lording over the homestead 😹 #catsoflitsy
Flour literally just pulled this book off the shelf. I think I‘ll take this as a sign of what to read next.

This was my birthday present. The project mission is to travel back in time and get hold of Jane Austen's letters and a completed manuscript of The Watsons. It reminded me of Connie Willis' time travel books. I found the description of the Austen family and the ending well done and fitting, but didn't care much one way or the other about the time travelers and the love attachment. Still a good read, though.
Loved this book about two time travelers who go back in time to recover an unpublished Austen manuscript. I won‘t say anything more, but recommend to Austen fans! #turnbacktime #literaryluck
I am using the tagged book for January's prompt for this challenge

Good. Even though at first the writing was a bit stilted the story managed to come out as an interesting concept and enjoyable. Recommend for any Jane Austen fans.

FYI this is now $1.99 on Amazon for the Kindle edition, I‘m not sure for how long.
Two researchers are sent back in time to retrieve a lost Austen novel. Their mission is to meet, befriend, and rob the famous novelist...but they soon find themselves in over their heads. This was a fun, diverting read. I really liked how they played with time travel, and how they weren‘t sure if their actions in the past would affect their future. It‘s the perfect book to curl up with on a rainy day-with tea (and smoothies!) included.
I loved this book. Time travel and Jane Austen are two of my favorite things. They are combined here with wit and amazing writing.
@bullbunny please email me the Litsy name of who had me. I searched for her but no one is listed. She didn't sign her Litsy name and I wanted to tag her and send the pic also. I will send her a snail mail thank you but wanted to thank her on Litsy❤️🙂
Woohoo! #hellofrom package from New Jersey. Brings back such sweet memories of when I was an exchange student in New Jersey my senior year❤️I remember bringing my parents salt water Taffy🌊🍭 I love the books and shirt-can't wait to wear it. Thank you
I really loved this one! Two researchers travel back to 1815, they think to recover a lost Austen manuscript and Jane‘s letters to her sister Cassandra. Their mission ends up being something much greater, and when they return to modern day, they find they have drastically altered history. Recommend for any Austen fan!
I hope to finish this one in the next two days! It‘s so good!
Up next on my #labsoundtrack. I think I‘ve read every single book with a Jane Austen-related title. 🤣
This was a Libby loan that finally came through after weeks and weeks of waiting.
A very intriguing premise, an interesting plot and an ending that was both somehow uplifting and depressing at the same time (for me). Very imaginative and evocative. This was deeper and more emotional for me than I expected. 4.5/5⭐️
One of last year's #austeninaugust reads. Definitely a #best for me. I loved watching a modern woman navigate life in Jane Austen's day. It's very timely-wimey. Ending gave me all the feels. 💙 #austenesque
A good read although some of the concepts I was a little weary of it is fiction 😝. I liked the storyline, events, and characters but I‘m so used to writers like Johanna Lindsey, Mary Balogh and Jane Austen that this was a little different for me. Still it flows so overall great read 😋📖
Starting this book from my tbr cutting that list down while I have the chance 😋📖
Last flight back to AK. Looking forward to sleeping in my own bed again!
Heading out on a trip to California for a conference tonight. I was really hoping my #BOTM would show up before I left, but I have these ones to keep me company anyway. Only bringing two because I have lots of backups on my phone to read if I finish these.
Also I will have a 36 hr layover in Seattle on my way back home, so anyone with bookstore recommendations in the city?
