Paperweight is a hard-hitting contemporary YA that looks at eating disorders, toxic friendships and grief. Although it was a very difficult book for me to read, I'm glad that I did as it had an amazing depiction of therapy and recovery.

Seriously though this book is designed for people with chronic or mental illnesses which I really appreciate - practical things like this can be really difficult some days.

#maybookflowers my choice for Mexican or Mexican American author! Sandra Cisneros writes such incredible short stories - I can't believe it took me this long to find her! She is also the author of House on Mango Street which I highly recommend.

I've been meaning to read this for a while (because hello feminism) but there has been a lot of controversy on twitter about the editor and her acephobic comments and general lack of knowledge. I won this book before that, so I'm going to read it and do an in-depth review of what is good, and what went wrong. I'm hoping it'll be helpful!

I love the gender studies section at my local bookstore! I was SO tempted by a lot of these books but I restrained myself in the end. (I have a feeling that I'm going to give in and buy Rebel Girls at some point though.)
