Another title from my book bundle from Arabelle Sicardi. Seems like a great resource living with/through hard times.

There were a bunch of good takeaways in this....

Much of it is a relaxing read, while giving instructions for a certain way of life (ideas I'm not sure I want to follow), I guess containing many answers.

I'd never read Buddhist stuff before so I'm hoping this was a good introduction.

I admire it, even though I doubt I'll walk that path. It's interesting though, and I love some of the grand concepts.

I have never used card deck exercises before but when I came across these, I was very curious. The official publication date isn't until next month, but I bought directly from the publisher and got them early. 😊 #naturalitsy #selfcare #trauma #mindfulness #mindfulawareness #carddeck

TheBookHippie Oh nice. I like this idea. 1mo

Throughout our life we produce energy. We say things and do things, and every thought, every word, and every act carries our signature. What we produce as thoughts, as speech, as action, continues to influence the world, and that is our continuation body. Our actions carry us into the future. We are like stars whose light energy continues to radiate across the cosmos millions of years after they become extinct.

I read this off and on over the course of a year. I've done about four weeks of the formal eight week MBSR program and I imagine I'll carry much of this with me for the rest of my life. Kabat-Zinn can be a bit much but he distills the tenets of mindfulness and meditation so well.

This is a short little book about meditation. It is a basic guide to what meditation is and why it‘s important. Something that I thought was interesting was that he talked a lot about how meditation doesn‘t have a purpose. It‘s not supposed to make us more peaceful, happier, better, etc. Those might be side effects, but if you go into it with that expectation, you‘re missing the point. It‘s about accepting what is, not trying to get better.

Starting this book today, it's a recommendation from my Dad so I'm hoping it is good!

Thank you Dad! 💜
