Loved it! Murder mystery in the English countryside - plus the culprit wasn‘t who I thought it was and I love when that happens. Will read the next! 😊

The Thursday Murder Club | Richard Osman

In a peaceful and respectful retirement community a group of four friends meet weekly to discuss and try to solve murders. The characters are nearing 80, but that doesn‘t seem to slow them down. They look in each case with the knowledge that they‘re going to catch their “criminal.” They use connections they made earlier in life and diligently take the facts and hopefully catch the murderer before anyone else dies. 4/5⭐️

This book is about a school obsessed girl named Pip. Pip is doing a project about the Andie Belle murder case from 5 years ago. It is told that Sal Singh murdered young Andie and then committed suicide, but Pip is certain he‘s innocent, and teams up with Sal‘s brother to catch the real killer.
This book was fantastic and brilliantly written! The whole book was well plotted and so interesting with every twist. It certainly kept me entertained.

This murder mystery takes place during a crime writers festival on a luxury train traveling through the Australian outback. It was highly entertaining and more than a little meta, as the narrator outlines the rules of writing a mystery while explaining the deadly events that take place on the train. I didn't realize it was a sequel but it didn't seem to matter--I will definitely pick up the first book in the near future!

RamsFan1963 If you liked the 2nd book, you'll definitely like the 1st one. I thought it was a little better, although I enjoyed both of them. 2w

Themes: Historical Fiction Mystery, Famous Authors as characters, 1930‘s London

This was an okay read, it‘s between a so-so and a pick. It wasn‘t amazing but I was interested enough to keep reading it. A good library borrow 👍

A surprise! Library hold came through!

When a prominent member of the Marlow community is poisoned, the three friends are once again asked to look into the mystery and figure out whodunnit.

Fun as usual. I love his writing. He explores all the suspects and delves into the lives of his heroines too.

This is the lower end of the pick scale for me. I really wanted for all the Queens to be clearly depicted, but only Christie and Sayers have pretty distinct personalities. Marsh and Allingham were only distinguishable from each other by Marsh‘s New Zealand accent and their respective clothing styles. The book was also a bit slow paced in the first half but picked up later. #audiowalk

KathyWheeler @wanderinglynn It was. I‘m still amazed at how pretty they‘ve made this campus. When I first interviewed here, it was the ugliest college campus I‘d ever been on. 2w

Twisted murder mystery with a book within a book.

It felt a bit long winded at times, probably because I had found out who the killer was very early on. Still enjoyed how Horowitz put it all together.
