It‘s been a tough few days- my Grandma Sally passed away last Thursday. She was the person who taught me how to read, took me to countless story hours, and helped me get my first library card. She always had a book recommendation for me, and she was usually spot on. She didn‘t usually write in the books she gave me, but I‘m so happy she broke tradition for the book photographed, Harry Potter & the Sorcerers Stone.

Starting this one- it‘s been on my list for a while, but I‘ve been putting it off since I hated The Other Einstein. Here‘s hoping I enjoy this one! #libby #currentread

I stopped by my hometown library after work yesterday, and my local library today. I feel like it was a successful outing at both 😝 #bookhaul

The New York Times reviewed on of my favorite novels from 2018! I listened to this on audiobook while driving to and from work- It. Was. Fabulous. I may have sat in the parking lot and snuck an extra five minutes or so 😝 #audiobook #scribd

Trying to get my blood sugar up before I head into the gym- it‘s giving me an excuse to listen more. I know there‘s a controversy about just how true the book is, but I‘ve been enjoying it (as much as one can enjoy a book on this subject). #audiobooks

It was a low-key Christmas this year. My big “gift” was getting insurance approval and receiving a DexcomG6 so that took precedence over books, for once. 😝 Either way- I‘m super excited about my mini #bookhaul and can‘t wait to read all three!

My mom asked me to handle the gifts for my 8 year old cousin since we always give her a book as part of her gift. This year she‘s getting Matilda from me and the hubs and the first #BabysittersClub from my parents. I‘m glad she‘s finally old enough for some of my #childhoodfavs. #christmasgifts

I was so excited about the #BOTM selections for November, I helped myself to 3 😝

Flood waters down- clean up begins. My hometown, Whiteville, has been devastated. I‘ve never seen it flood this bad. Thanks #Littens for all your thoughts and well wishes during Flo. My husband‘s Granny has power so we‘re camped out with her until the routes to Wilmington reopen. In the meantime, we‘re helping Granny clean her store downtown. Hope everyone else in the path of Flo fared well!

Y‘all the rain is never ending. We got a text from Duke Energy that they‘re starting to restore power in Wilmington. Not that it matters because most of the roads are flooded so we can‘t get home. Bright side- my in-laws house didn‘t get damaged, I‘ve got a ton of books to read, and the generator has plenty of fuel. Hope the rest of the #littens in Flo‘s path are doing okay!

I managed to get to the library before they closed, and I‘ve maxed out my loans on #Libby. We‘ve evacuated to the in-laws, charged the battery packs, and bought extra batteries for my “reading” lantern.

I‘ve been in bed since Sunday with a killer cold, and today is the first day I‘m feeling like a human again. Lucky me that my #feedareader package arrived today with some awesome goodies and an amazing looking recipe! I can‘t thank you enough @Ingerella ! As soon as I get my taste back, I‘m going to try it!
